Where to stay in Santa Cruz Province
Santa Cruz Province hotels & accommodations
Loved this hostel, friendly, helpful, space, cheerful and lots of cleaning going on, a good sign... very hot showers (watch out!) and great location for the best hikes
Rooms are small but not as small as Tokyo or NYC hotels. Rooms are well appointed and have tv, good lighting, heating ( if not a little stuffy). Shampoo, conditioner and soap provided along with good towels. Continental breakfast provided included: juice, tea/coffee,bread, toast, fruit, fruit salad and pastries. Staff were obliging, including organising taxis and airlin...
We stayed at the separate house next to the main building, which gives privacy. The staff were helpful and courteous, especially Patricio who helped us carry our heavy luggage to the house and give us recommendations on where to go. Would stay here again.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our trip to El Calafate. The hotel is located a bit out of town so you will need a car to access it or use taxis for transport. However, I think it is worth it. The hotel is located on a hill and you have great views to the lake. The garden is beautiful and well maintained too. We really liked our room! Bed was really comfortabl...
whilst this may not be the most stylish or fancy hotel in el calafate, it is a good bet for the traveller who wants a comfortable stay in a modern hotel very close to the shops. rooms are spacious and service is simple and professional including a nice 'turn-down' service with free chocolates... there's a spa too (and massage service) but we didn't have time for ...
We really enjoyed this hotel. Great location on the main road, great facilities but the best thing is the Hotel staff - so kind and welcoming, super helpful. We really enjoyed staying there.
We stayed at a private double room with a big and comfortable bed. Very warm inside the room with the heat on. Room is clean. Breakfast is good. Location is good for those using the bus terminal, walking distance. A little bit far from the town Centro but still manageable on foot. Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. P.S. the hotel also has apartments whi...
In the summer high season you really are stuck between the high prices of the bigger hotels ($200 and up) and the depressing mediocrity of the hostels. This hotel is one of the latter. I stayed for 3 nights in one of their 8-person co-ed dorms rooms on the 2nd floor. There's a kitchen next door that you can freely use. You're rudely forced by reception staff to vacate ...
Laura was a very friendly and attentive host, the food was excellent and the view from the dining room simply spectacular. If you pass by, do not miss the horse ride. Christian lead us through overwhelming nature and made the ride a perfect experience. The horses are well trained and made my first ride on a horse back a unforgettable experience.
It's a pretty hotel at a first glance and the location is only 2 blocks from main street. but the room is small, old, very dry.. they are on the street level so without curtain, you can be seen, also I was able to hear everything outside. Average breakfast. some staff were friendly.
Location could be better as is not in central of the Town but at least I could have a nice walk back. Very good selection of food for breakfast. Very friendly staff who spoke English which was very helpful. I was very surprise when on my arrival as the hostel was very specious and clean. People say that it could be quite cold in hostel in April, but it wasn’t a case a...
Price is not expensive, I use SGD 180 around to book 2 night double room... Staff is nice, can solve my inquiry, e.g. local tour, foreign exchange, etc... Good location, go to main street around 5 mins and supermarket is 10-15 mins, depend which supermarket you want to go....
Good place and location for trekking to Fitz Roy. Bad wifi signal.
It’s a very nice hotel, with very clean and spacious room. All the stuff works well in the room. Staff are nice and helpful, even helped us for an early breakfast as we needed to go on to a tour before the breakfast time starts. The only down side is it’s a little distance away from the downtown area, but still in walkable distance. Overall, very nice hotel. Would reco...
hotel is nice decorated and clean. nearby downtown with free shuttle bus service. it is nearby airport and up on the hill which could see the city and lake view in el calafate. i probably will choose this hotel again if i go to el calafate again.
This lodge is a great option in el calafate. all the accomodation is similar here but for the price this one was great. Bathrooms were clean rooms were warm and cosy. Easy walking access to main strip in town and the staff is very helpful and friendly. U can organise them to prepare lunches to take with you on tours. The best one i think is the Big Ice trek on the peri...
I've never had such a magnificent view from a hotel room as this one. Snow capped mountains and a lake with geese and flamingoes. The view from the breakfast room was just as good. The hotel is new, on a hill, 8 blocks away from the centre/bus station. Taxi was very cheap from town centre for those wanting some night life etc. Walk into town, approx. 20 minutes. The ...
Coming from Asia, we arrived early in the morning, excited but exhausted. Noellia at the reception was just so understanding and so helpful. She made the check in process so easy, going out of her way to provide us an early check in, and even offered us free coffee and breakfast. Though the hotel is not located in the center of town, it still offers the best balance be...
This hotel is located right in the middle of the main road, yet it is tucked away inside, which makes it quiet. The staff is really friendly, and they are always willing to help. The restaurant downstairs has good breakfast in the morning with all the basics plus some tasty toasts and cakes. They also have a very good dinner service in the evening. I have ordered a tro...
simple room but good location one street behind the main street where shopping, supermarket, travel agent, restaurant can be found 20 minutes walk to bird park which is a good place in the town bus terminal is just 2 blocks away (5 mins walk) where bus go to glacier and other cities
the hotel is located at the fare edge of the village towards the glacier the facility is nice and modern in a very nice spote. it is recomanded when renting a car. othewise the hotel is providing a limited shuttel service up to 22:30 afterwards texi from center is around 12PS. Texi from airport is 80PS room is big and clean equiped with safe bath is small but ...
not a good location and building was very poorly constructed and maintained.staff friendlily but hotel not worthy of 4 stars, 2 at best.
The staff were really friendly, giving us recommendations for restaurants and letting us use their kitchen to warm up food. The room was clean. Wifi signal was good in the lobby but very weak in the rooms.
stayed btwn 26-28th of Dec 4 people (2 adult and 5years and 10 years old children ) Room type: lodge type It is better than apartment type in considering noise from other rooms. Width of room: comfortable Location: far from down town to walk on foot we need to use taxi for every visit to down town and it takes u$10-12 fo...
This place was so cute (dare I say romantic) and had a great BnB feel. Good breakfast in the morning too. WiFi worked well in the room and the shower was nice and hot. The location is a little out of the way, but town was still less than a 1mile walk. I'm really happy we stayed here and would do so again if we are ever back in El Calafate.
Our stay was excellent. The in house chef is amazing and could easily be working in a 5 star restaurant anywhere in the world. The food in town is good, but do yourself a favor and eat at the restaurant at the hotel.
The staff was helpful and friendly, speaks good English. It's less than 10 mins to city centre.
I knew this reservation was a mistake when I was the last one dropped off by the airport shuttle bus. It might be ok if you have your own car, but it is a LONG 30-35 minute walk to town, even longer if you have luggage, or AR85/US$7 taxi.. The owner insisted on charging the 19% tax, which other hostels did not do. Breakfast was not great. I cancelled my third night her...
Suzanne la propriétaire est très sympathique et toujours disponible pour nous aider. Le petit déjeuner était très agréable.
We stayed just over night. The room was nice but small, specially the bathroom that was minimal and not well planned. The bed was confortable. There was a safebox in the room. The hotel is localized in a very nice part of the village sorounded by trees. There is a golf course for those interested. The staff was very professional and helpful. There was wi-fi access in t...
Cheap places to stay in Santa Cruz Province
I stayed two nights in this hostel and can definitely recommend it. Everything was clean all the time. The kitchen has a lot of equipment, my bed was comfortable and the room very big. In case I will be again in El Calafate I will ask to stay there again. Muchas gracias!
10min to bust station, very convenient
I stayed twice at Bla Guesthouse and was lucky to be able to book a twin room for my first stay, while I could only get a bed in a dorm the second stay. The dorm was very uncomfortable with basic bunk beds arranged in such a way that there was close proximity which was not very nice. The room got smelly and hot quickly during the night so had to open the window wide to...
Firstly, Marcel, the cheerful owner who runs this place with his numerous brothers, is fantastic! His brothers too, are just as hospitable (but Marcel's English is flawless). This is one of my favourite hostels ever. The common area is a great way to meet people, it is not a loud party place. The kitchen can get very cramped however, as there is only one stove. The br...

I thought I was pretty terrible value for money by Argentinian standards. The room was unpleasant and unclean. Breakfast was appalling (coffee, cheap bread and jam) by the standard of other places we have stayed (often for cheaper prices). We didn't use the kitchen. All in all it was a pretty bad place to stay.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. The bed was comfortable, room and bathroom very clean. Great kitchen which we used to cook breakfasts. Nice hot shower. And we were greeted nicely and helped with everything we needed. And all for s great price too!
We had a private room and it was very comfortable. Perfect for coming back to after a long day's trekking. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. The hostel itself is nice and has a decent sized social area, we met a few other people. Staff were very helpful. The internet was awful but I think that it is a problem with El Chalten and not the...
We stayed at the separate house next to the main building, which gives privacy. The staff were helpful and courteous, especially Patricio who helped us carry our heavy luggage to the house and give us recommendations on where to go. Would stay here again.
this hotel is for young people that are looking for a decent place at a low price and do not expect too much comfort. it´s location is pretty good and the staff is doing its best to provide adequate service. value for money is very good and overall we were satisfied with the hotel. if you are under 30 years old do not hesitate to stay there
Owners Monica and Jorge were very friendly and attentive people. The hotel was very clean, my room was spotless each day when I returned. A beautiful view of El Calafate area when having breakfast. I highly recommend staying here.
Loved this hostel, friendly, helpful, space, cheerful and lots of cleaning going on, a good sign... very hot showers (watch out!) and great location for the best hikes
The staff is great, very helpful and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about the town, even what time each shop opens or close. The dorm rooms are clean but not very spacious. Large lockers in room, also bathrooms in room shared by 6 dormates. Very convenient. Can use a few more hooks to hang clothing in shower stall, also bathroom doorlocks are not operating properly...
The Hostel Del Glaciar Pioneros is about a 15 minute walk from the bus station, and about 10 minutes from the main town. The Hostel staff are very accommodating and gave some great advice reagrding tours and things to do. We booked the Glacier boat tour with the Hostel and had a fantastic time!
This hotel was a nice, no frills place stay for one night before heading out to El Calafate. The rooms are small, the hot water didn't ever quite make it to hot, and the breakfast was just coffee and two medialunas. However, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was wifi, and the location is great.
We enjoyed it a lot. It is very close to the center of El Calafate. The rooms and facilities are very clean and well looked after. The free breakfast in the morning is very nice too. Plenty of coffee and some rolls. The owner is taking care of the place. Small downside, payment cash only. As it is hard to get cash in El Calafate, paypal will be setup soon, the owner sa...
Amazing staff, Gaston was the first person we encountered in Argentina and he was wonderful, helpful and friendly. The hostel is clean and basic and provides everything that you need, central to everything.
The customer service here was a refreshing change from the hotels in torres del paine. The young lady at the reception spoke good english and was warm and helpful - answering our many questions and helping us book the Las Lengas tickets. Another guy (maybe the manager or owner) was also very friendly. Location wise, very convenient - short walk to the main street, bus ...
The staff was helpful and friendly, speaks good English. It's less than 10 mins to city centre.
Staff was friendly. Room was decent and clean. They do packed lunch for hiking trips. It was delicious!
Stayed in the hostel private room. Bed was comfy and room was nice. Bathroom was a washroom so the toilet and paper gets wet if you have a shower. Kitchen is small and didn't use it. Good location just off the main street
We so much loved the place that when we decided to extend our trip, of course we never looked at other hotel, we were happy there mostly because of the very, very nice lady who runs the hotel. We didn't mind not having 5 star because when a small hotel is so clean and comfortable and cute in the decoration, we feel its better than 5 star hotel where they don't give you...
Very nice. The breakfast was minimal but served in a pleasant surrounding. It is not a large hotel so do not expect anything but the basics for food. El Calfate is a busy place so we enjoyed being on the outskirts. Having a car is a plus but taxis are plentiful so easy to go back and forth to town.

We loved this small hotel because they just couldn't do enough for you. It was exceptionally clean with complete kitchen facilities. The view of the lake from our second floor bedroom was phenomenal. The perfect place for some relaxing time before dinner.
Luxury hotels in Santa Cruz Province
We stayed for 4 days in Chalten and the hotel was very good. The location is excellent and the room are very nice. Take into consideration that the hotel is made our of wood so you can hear everything around (and if your neighbours are noisy is a bit annoying. The restaurant is OK but you have several good alternatives around. Don't count on the internet connectio...
