South Australia hotels & accommodations
Booked on Agoda 7 weeks ago for a very good deal, including breakfast, we had free car park at the hotel, easy to find on south terrace, full buffet breakfast very good with a variety of hot and cold dishes, but best of all, it is only 1/2 block walk to the free tram - the first of 10 free stops, so access to all parts of the city are very quick, and free. The room was...
The entire hotel is only 6 months old, so everything is clean and new. Rooms are spacious. Slippers are provided, though there's no toothbrush (as with every other hotel in Australia). The rooms definitely deserve a 5 star rating; minor details (such as the ikea pillows, slightly coarse towels, and slightly difficult to reach manual curtains) keep it from being a 6 sta...
When we arrived, we were given keys to a little cottage- where we noted a dead fly on the kitchen counter top the floor was covered in leaf crumbs, we then just dropped off our stuff, and left- on returning we noticed on the lounge was a grape stem and a fruit sticker, and in the bedroom on the side dresser was a mystery white stained area ?? The furnishing in this roo...
Stayed here for the first time in 10 years, normally stay at another apartment when in town, as it was Mad March we were unable to get that apartment. Frankin Apartments are bigger than most, have washing machine and dryer. the kitchen facilities are very good. good size fridge, crockery and cutlery were ample. Lounge was a bed sofa but very comfortable. cleaner were p...
We will return to this hotel when we need to stay in Adelaide. We live in country South Australia. I would rate at 3.5 stars rather than 4.
Our stay at the Watson was the BEST ever. I am pretty sure this is gonna become our family hotel if we have stay in Adelaide. We got a free upgrade to 2 bed room suite as it was available. With a toddler it made a world of differnece. To put in a nut shell, it was truly taking our home to a hotel.
Although I had an initial difficulty at book in it was quickly resolved, the staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. We had a great time and fully enjoyed our stay.
The Hotel was easy to access from Adelaide Airport via the handy Airport Shuttle Bus ($10.00 AUD). I use a VISA debit card and so I had to give an additional deposit of $200.00 to secure my booking this was very promptly refunded when I checked out at the end of my visit. The buffet breakfasts were very good and I also had some lunches and dinners in the Hotel. Pleas...
The hotel is Really lovely and the rooms are spacious and immaculate. Great lighting in the bathroom and spotless rooms. If it was a cheap hotel i would not question these little things. But at $390 a night the hotel is let down by poor service at the bar. Or non existent really. No table service and non attentive when you actually walk up to the bar. Clearly Inexpe...
thoroughly enjoyed our stay and booked another night there. room was large with plenty of light due to two walls of floor to ceiling windows. curtains were in front of windows to block out light when needed. kitchenette fridge was inside tv cabinet which made it initially difficult to find. the fridge was a decent size for a small one. the dining room and bar/bis...
We had a good time in Adelaide. Overall, the hotel is good but we did not feel that we stayed in 5 stars hotel. Pros: Inside the city, it is close to everything. The room is very clean. The staff is very friendly. We very happy about that. Cons: In this website, they said there are Valet parking and car park on - site but need to pay $38/day for valet parking. Th...
Crockery and cutlery were not clean. Ended up putting whole lot through dishwasher. And as usual there was mould in the shower recess but that seems to be par for the course in all motels etc in Australia regardless of the star ranking. Otherwise a well set up and comfortable unit with every thing you need.
Have stayed here several times and we just love it.Glenelg is one of the best seaside locations in Australia and the Oaks makes the most of it by offering stunning ocean views, every facility and service you could need and the proximity to the rest of Glenelg and everything it has offer. Will be back!
ideal for event at intercontinental hotel-short walk there and back,,,disappointed to find although booked and paid for 5 /apartment only set up for 4 /no extra bed 4 cups plates/towels etc-very annoying as hotel voucher clearly stated 5!! after having to complain---no real apology--- eventually told would be a fold out?! bed set up. it was set up while out of room--i...
A prominent Hotel on the corner of West/South Tce overlooking Parklands in Adelaide, South Australia. The entrance is only accessible by travelling south along West Tce. It has a small but secure Car Park with direct Hotel entry. Guests are treated to a sixth floor Bar and Restaurant, (dinner service only) plus Gym, Swimming Pool and Spa all with great views. The Bar...
It is Hilton Class hotel, well appointed and good service. Hotel located in the centre of city, the best Market is just around corner, also next to 24 hours large supermaket, the free tram stop within the city just on the front door. Hence, you will not have any problem to find good dining places or tour around the city. One small disappointment is the room do no...
We organised a group of 11 to spend two nights and they looked after us very well. They arranged our rooms next to each other and we had all we needed in terms of tables an chairs around the pool to enjoy our evening drinks. The rooms look like they are all in the process of being upgraded, but even in their current condition, they are a nice size, clean and the bed is...
Located in the very center of this city with quite easy access to all the shopping areas nearby, Hotel Richmond is the best choice for the travellers new to this city. The most impressive thing in my eyes is the friendly staff members working at the reception. I have to mention two guys. They offered me a lot of help even before I arrived. The facilities in the room ar...
Had been to Plaza Hotel, Country comfort South Terrace, but Paringa Motel is the best that I have stayed, very comfortable rooms, just walk across the street to Rundle Mall, and budget prices ,affordable and reasonable.Great for family and church-goers, just walk along and you can find a few churches down Hindley.
I have been travelling to the Mawson Lakes area for the last 10 years for work. For most of that period (once I discovered it) i have stayed at the Mawson Lakes hotel and have often recommended it to a number of colleagues. There are a variety of rooms to stay in, both within the hotel and also in apartments in the area. There is plenty of quality restaurants and valu...
Awesome aircon. Older but fantastically clean. Best coffee. Lovely helpful staff. When I booked it asked any requests which I asked great aircon. When we arrived in Adelaide the aircon was for us and believe me after getting in on a 40 degree day was the best, also was so thoughtful. Small things like this and it’s cleanliness will make me return to the Meridian. T...
Probably the best apartment we stayed in for the 3 weeks we were in Australia. Great facilities inside apartment, good balcony and plenty of space. Situated 10 mins walk from the downtown Adelaide, would recommend it to all.
Barossa Weintal Hotel complex is an excellent hotel. Easily found on the main road, spacious grounds, large rooms, providing good quality soaps, shampoo and bathroom towels. A good selection of tea/coffee, and fresh milk in the fridge. Continental Breakfast was included in our package and for a small upgrade a menu provided choices for a full breakfast. Having stay...
A basic hotel but just what we needed to spend our first 4 nights in Adelaide ever in. Myself and my two sons came over from Canberra to see the Socceroos which we thoroughly enjoyed. One bus around the corner from the hotel got us direct into the city and a very easy city to explore and get around. Great value for money and location plus! Hyde Park also offers a great...

The small cabins were great options for all of our families to stay in (we booked 12+). The places facilities were fantastic - pools, playgrounds, bounce pads, tennis court, beach, and an indoor cooking area where all 50+ people could congregate to eat dinners/lunch - this also had many tv's and an adjoining tv room.
My stay at BreakFree was excellent. It is convenient, about a 10-15 minute walk from Rundle Mall, less than 5 minute walk to the free shuttle bus stop and tram stop. The cab fare from Adelaide Airport to the hotel is about A$20. The location of the hotel was very peaceful and serene. The free wifi and computer connected to printers at the hotel lobby are particularly u...
Nice room, I will return This is the first time I visit Adelaide and try to find the hotel which is not too far from CBD and located in quiet area. I recommend this Oaks Horizon. You can have a quiet night while it is only 5 mins walk to Rundle mall. The room is better than I expect for what I paid for. I stayed in one bedroom apartment equipped with everything you ne...
When we checked in on Xmas eve the reception staff were lovely. We were travelling with a 10 week old baby and she put us/upgraded us into the best room that was available which would have had the least amount of noise as possible. Check in and out was a breeze and the room was really nice with great facilities and an awesome shower!
The best hotel I have stayed in Australia. I got more than what I paid more. Really loved it!
Cheap places to stay in South Australia
Fellow backpackers had loud parties and smoked marijuana in plenty, there were no penalties for loud, disruptive, and obnoxious behavior.
I have traveled around Australia and Tequila Sunrise is the most hospitable and friendly backpackers Hostel. You get free breakfast and evening meals on some nights. The meals are well organized to bring travelers together, creating a friendly, safe atmosphere and environment
All staff I met were super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of stuff in the area. Location is 15 minute walk from centre of Adelaide but right next to all the beautiful parks. Gary upgraded me from a dorm bed to a private room on the first night, as I’d booked it for the following night and the room was empty. This was really generous and thoughtful of him. Clean, ...
Best budget place ever stayed, really enjoyed the short 1-Nite stay. Definitely the place to stay if one is in Pt. Adelaide.
Stayed here for the first time in 10 years, normally stay at another apartment when in town, as it was Mad March we were unable to get that apartment. I have never been a backpacker, I live in Australia but decided to book this hostel because I needed somewhere to store my luggage, the room was clean, air con was great, staff was friendly, bathroom was super clean, kitchen and pool/games/movie room was great, very central to everything, no complaints. Value for money and a good experience, quick check in, friendly tr...
we stayed for a couple of nights at this lovely hostel. the guest house is quiet and cozy. our room was very spacious and although bathrooms are shared, there is a washbasin in the room. the aircon-heater made our stay even nicer (it was pretty cold outside so it was nice to stay in a warm room). the kitchen is well equiped and is also quite spacious. breakfast is incl...
Really good. I've stayed in over 100 hostels around the world, and this was definitely one of the best. Very well run, highly recommended.
Off the highway in an isolated section near Talia Caves. A range of options, but we used the self contained 2BR cabin ( w double bed & bunks), with all basic requirements supplied. BYO food to utilise facilities. A long walk to beach, otherwise just enjoy the surrounding peace.
I've never stayed a place like this before, the room, kitchen and the public area were always clean. Free BBQ on every Tue was awesome, and the killer pool was nice and fun. Staffs are always friendly as well. Well, a place to call ' HOME' for me in Australia.
Good value, and we were lucky and got a nice big room to spread ourselves (too bad the windows don't open). The shared bathroom was clean, we had air-con. The bar area was nice, friendly, and welcoming. I would recommend asking for a room away from the smoking section. Darryl the manager was amazing. Great service, thank you :)
After doing a lot of travelling in SE Asia it seems bloody expensive to pay $80 a night for a very small double room, however thanks to my exorbitant use of agoda in the past I had lots of points to use on this room. Dont get me wrong its a beautiful place to stay, the hostel is clean and has great facilities but if youre a tightass its too expensive for a backpackers ...
It’s very amazing place. I never seen like this accommodation. You should stay!
I was pleasantly surprised by the YHA - upgraded my room, which was spacious and comfortable. Owners are friendly. Close to ferry and food, which is a bonus. Kitchen and laundry provided, which are good to have.
You can't beat the location of this hotel. It is right in the centre of Adelaide, opposite Central Market (great place for breakfast and lunch btw) and walking distance from all the city sights. Metropolitan Hotel is an old Victorian style hotel situated just above a busy and atmospheric pub. The hotel has a real character. Rooms are a bit rundown but clean (although r...
Felt very welcomed by the young man at the reception, very friendly and helpful. Ask about the attraction and he told us more than we should know. Room is spacious and although is along roadside, it is very quiet. Will definitely recommend friends who are going to Mount Gambier to stay at this hotel.
Extremely helpful staff and prompt when a couple of issues came up. The other highlight was the attached restaurant. Great food at a reasonable price. Accommodation was dated but OK for a one night stay if not looking for more than the listed star rating. Great position to main street and a shopping centre and the wharf..
The band was MUCH TOO LOUD. We like live music but this hurt our ears and when we went to bed we could still hear it and therefore could not sleep. The hotel staff should make sure that the music is not heard in the bedrooms or they should not charge for people to stay and get no sleep.
i chose to stay here on the way through adelaide with a really really early morning flight the following day. it is 10 mins from the airport. the staff are super friendly and helpful and the pub is really cool. it’s on a main road with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. it’s a short walk to Rundall mall and bus stops are nearby if you’re not up to walk a couple of...

Hot water gone very fast for showering(approx 5mins). We enjoy the nice refreshing showering in May (12 degree outside) The Room is really Nice. But you need to walk 7mins to find the room key from the quiet alley. No lift, only stairs so not really suit for elderly or disable.
Everything about this caravan park is really good but I shouldn't have been so tight and booked the cheapest cabin. Bed really saggy, limited hot water and minimal room to move. Would stay at the caravan park again though but get a bigger cabin next time.
I booked the ensuite cabins. they were very old but comfortable. the bunk beds didn't have a guard to stop my kids from rolling out in the night but we seem to get away with that. the general facilities in the place a VERY GOOD!. My kids loved the adventure play area and I found the bbq's and the long areas to be spot on. didn't go in the pool as it was hot and the bea...
This was a nice hotel which provided basic but clean service. The room and the bed was clean and comfortable. And I was able to purchase a meal down stairs for dinner. For breakfast they will provide a cereal box with milk. its a good spot if you want something basic and cheap.
Stayed 2 nights. Was a nice hotel. Though split system aircon filters were blocked up so not very effective. Blew out gunk everywhere. Also Tv was very dusty. Bar fridge was very old and didn't keep anything cool. Though for a quick stay the hotel was nice food lacked in quantity for price. Though overall beds were very comfy and nice decor.
Right in the middle of Robe
Found all staff to be great .. Rooms where very clean .. the best motel Ive stayed in Mount Gambier
Nice and comfortable place peaceful and with nature views. Excellent destination for a relaxing holiday. Staff was super friendly. Definitely gonna come back again.
Loved the motel would definitely book another when in the area

This is an old hotel & has a bit of a Regal feel about it. The rooms are very clean, comfortable & quiet & staff helpful & friendly. We got great value for money booking through AGODA. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to public transport or if you like walking, easy walk to beautiful parklands, Adelaide Oval, Festival Theatre, River Torrens, CBD, Adel...
We stayed here for just one night on a flying visit to Australia, taking in as many wine regions as possible. The resort was perfect for our needs - located close to all of the main wineries and had a great outdoor pool and an excellent restaurant. Would definitely stay here again - one of the highlights of our trip.
the owners of the motel were very helpful and provided a free laundry and spin drier - ideal when you have been travelling across australia for nearly three weeks. plenty of car parking and a nice garden in the middle which made a pleasant change. rooms were a decent size and contained all the usual amenities. the bed was very comfy. breakfast was served in the room....
Wife and I took my parents to Adelaide for a long weekend (first visit for all of us). Arrival at the hotel gave some indication of the weekend we'd be in for. A couple of blocks East of the CBD and close to North, South and East Terraces the location could not have been better. The staff were great. Rooms were clean and quiet; ditto the hotel. A great experience and w...
My family and I stayed here for 1 night while we explored Kangaroo island. We booked the Acacia cabin, and the cabin itself was small but just right for the 5 of us, with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. However, I personally feel it might be too small for bigger size people to move about in the
This accommodation is very close to shops, restaurants etc., however we booked thinking there would be two beds in the queen executive room as was stated on Agodas booking site but there was just a queen bed as it had been advertised wrong. We found the unit very noisey at night with street noise and then they resealed the road at night as well. We left early in the mo...
had a comfortable stay at rockford adelaide. the hotel room provides everything you need from wireless internet, slippers, to a full set of toiletries. the location is good for attending a conference at the university of south australia, which is just behind the hotel. it is, however, around 15 minutes' walk to rundall mall and central market.
Nice hotel....but the internet is not free. But I guess that is a problem in Australia. Almost all hotels want a lot of money for an hour of internet usage.
The stay was wonderful. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment instead of a1 bedroom apartment. The rooms were large and comfortable, the bathroom was big and clean and the living room and kitchen was big open and light filled oh and it even had a good sized balcony. The balcony was missing furniture however but I assume its on the way as they only just opened. Th...
We were surprised to find that we were in another section of the motel, about 350 metres down the road. They could easily have been different companies! The spa was not working in the pool area, and had not been for sometime the lady said - this was one of the main reasons that I booked the Vine Inn. The pool was quite nice, but you had to go in through the main hotel,...
The stay was terrific, however, we booked at the restaurant (Umberto) and ordered oysters natural, thy smelled really bad and we sent it back and told the waitress that these oysters are not fresh and it is dangerous to eat. No response from the chef and were charged for them. We own a restaurant ourselves and we know what should have been done. Not even an apology. Th...
I stayed at this apartment with a girl friend for 4 nights. We wanted to be central to everything as it was our first time to Adelaide. We found it was cheaper to book with Agoda and paid $118 per night. From the airport we caught the J1 bus to Currie Street for $2.50. Then had less than a 5 minute walk to Quest. The markets were 10-15 mins walk from the apartment and...
I stayed at the motel for a week and from the moment I arrived I felt happy and pleased with my choice to stay in Port Noarlunga in this lovely , clean and well located and well organized motel. It's only a short walk down to the beautiful beach and local shops and bars. I had a fantastic time and staying at the motel made my trip perfect. The owners are so friendly ...
the retreat is a tricky one to locate on both gps and google map. it is actually located along koch road where you will see an old red lorry at the junction. drive ~1km and you will come across the sign for jcr. once you have found it, this is one of the best location for you to escape to. beautiful gardens and lots of perosnal attention and space (they only have 7 r...
I was surprised driving down the street of the hotel, for what I consider to be "cheap" in terms of the price the neighbourhood is absolutely beautiful. I certainly was not expecting the rooms to be so clean and modern. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely time here, it's ideally based if you want to be close to the ferry terminal, it's within walking distance. We had a villa which are located to the rear of the main hotel. It was clean and functional offering self catering facilities, with a supermarket within walking distance. The only thing I would say as being from the UK, we underestimate the distanc...
We are so blessed to live in this accomodation! The house was clean, tidy, and quiet. All things were provided, hairdryer, toiletries, milk, cereal, coffee, tea, and, even a load of Fresh Bread for Breakfast!!! Services were so good that we didn't even wanna check out this place. The owner also provide a thick booklet of nice restaurants nearby. Very considerate. We we...
I had mistakenly booked for 1 night when i needed 2 for a work trip. Being school holidays there were no other available rooms or accommodation anywhere else in Tanunda. Later on the first day i received a call back from the Motor Lodge to say that a room had become available; needless to say i booked it immediately. They went above and beyond to find me a room and rem...
The customer service from the receptionists were great however when I asked for a call to confirm when the apartment will be available for early check-in, my number was taken down wrong and so I didnt receive the call. I could only suggest that the receptionist look to the original booking to confirm the contact details and they would have seen the correct number to us...

The staff was unbelievable. Everyone was attentive, helpful and genuinely trying to please the customers. I've never seen anything close to this in Australia. Will stay here every time in Adelaide, and will stay in this brand elsewhere based on the fabulous experience at this hotel.
It’s the best price we got during our entirely hotel stays in Australia, we like Adelaide very much and would like to spend more time if we will visit Australia again next time.
It's a lovely change to find a hotel that cannot be faulted. Everything was simply perfect: the vineyard suite, the food, the helpful staff; the best experience of our Australia trip.
Fantastic location with wonderful views with My Lofty Botanical Gardens right next door. Beautifully decorated rooms (we stayed in the classic Queen room). Staff were very professional and extremely helpful. It was a memorable ending (the absolute highlight of) our 10 day trip to South Aus. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.
This place has a interesting appearance inside and out.I would highly recommend a sleep over for atleast 1 night.Easy check in.The beds are so comfortable.5 star rooms Fantastic modern quirky bathroom.Parking is limited at the rear with initially no access to the motel until you check in.
This Eco Lodge is truly a beautiful place to get away from it all. The location although not too far from Port Lincoln makes you feel as though you are in the middle of no where. It is peaceful and secluded. The accommodation is clean, elegant but also practical. The bathroom has a gorgeous Japanese style bath with a view. The kitchen is large and very functional if yo...
I loved this caravan park -absolutely beautiful, clean, offers mini golf, BBQ area, animals watching such as goats, emu, sheep - my toddler loved it. The room was nice, clean and cozy! Would love to be back there again one day.
It is location is a few kms out of town but this is a bonus for peace and solitude. It is fully equipped for self catering, so eating at home is an easy option.
Don't expect 5 star. If you're like us and happy to have somewhere comfortable that is in a nice location and doesn't require you to sell your grandchildren to stay there, then this is a good place to start. Short walk to fish and catch dinner if your so inclined. Quiet surroundings. Brain our host was most gracious and helpful, give it a go.
Lots of space. Clean. Good facilities. Only negative no internet. Also included is a happy hour drink with the owners Jim and Pam Lambert. Very nice couple.
1) Bath room is dirty, you can see lots of hair on the bath area. 2) Room is dusty. Bed sheet is also dusty 3) Kitchen full of cob web and the exhaust fan is cover with thick layer of dusty I would not recommend anyone else to take. For the same fee, can get at reasonable room
The place was just gorgeous with a lovely patio and fully equipped kitchen. We love the coffee machine. The lovely host left us a beautiful bottle of Australian red wine with complimentary cheese, olives and crackers. This cottage is big enough for 6 personés or three couples to share the cost. We were just one couple and we only needed one bedroom, so this was very...
Cottage was within walking distance to the Main Street of Tanunda, with restaurants, cafes etc. Well fitted out kitchen also with a few essential food items (oil, seasonings etc, and drip coffee)which were appreciated. House was very comfortable, air conditioning was efficient and very welcome.
Great apartment, clean spacious and the view is amazing. The area itself is great.
