South Cotabato hotels & places to stay

We had a great time in this hotel because they met our expectations of a 3 star hotel. Wonderful location right at the center of the city with good restaurants, bars and entertainment hubs. It is also near hospital, sm mall and city hall. The rooms are spacious and clean especially the towels and bed linens. The buffet breakfast is relatively fair enough and they have the most admirable staff (front desk, housekeeping and dining) they attended to all our needs and even provided tourist information. It is very rare to get a great service from a hotel that gives value for your money and Microtel GenSan exceeded that. I would definitely go back into this place and will recommend it to my friends. Thumbs up to the management and staff!

The staff virtually adopted my 6 month old daughter. They went out of their way to be courteous & friendly. I have done 50-60 overseas trips to 47 countries - The Greenleaf Hotel is easily the best hotel I have stayed in. It's rated 4 star - I have stayed in 5 star hotels that pale by comparison. I have stayed in Davao City in other hotels, however our next trip to Mindanao will be determined by the hotel not the city - we're going back to Greenleaf for sure. I'm not easily impressed, but with staff - they impressed the hell outa me.

stayed there for 2 nights but the 1st nyt was not booked thru agoda coz we just walk-in there to see how d hotel looks like and to my surpeise,it was really good. to think its not a big hotel but it offers great service. staffs are polite minus the guard who seems to be an ignorant who cant even answer you with a simple question.but nonetheless,our stay was really great! i hope they will be able to maintain the cleanliness so this will be a great place to stay while in gensan.

This is my 5th visit to Koronadal City and my third time to stay at FB Hotel. Foremost is the warmth of the staff. There is always a way to serve the needs. I needed to be fetched from another hotel in General Santos City and they arranged the ride without requiring me to join the regular trips going to and coming from the airport. I needed to attend a very important occasion in an jour and the housekeeping staff were there to iron my clothes. Next would be the cleanliness and comfort of the facilities. The place looks and smells fresh anytime. Just a slight problem with the location as it is not within 50 meters from the town proper so one has to do the shopping and dining before going back to FB. At any rate, BenLyn Café offers a reasonable range of food and drinks, coupled with good music. The hotel gym is not a mere decoration because there are guests who workout there, although there is much room for improvement in terms of available weights and machines.

If not for its location which is a bit on the outskirts of the main city, 3G Garden deserves a 5 star rating. They however make up for it by providing FREE shuttle service to major malls. I just wish that the hotel would offer paid shuttle pick up from the downtown area for guests who do not have cars. Taxi cabs in Gensan are not metered and they charge exorbitant fees (like P300). Rooms are budget priced but the amenities are not cheap. You however have to pay for extra towel and sheets, and other stuff you are provided in 4 star, 5 star hotels. But this of course makes sense given the budget room rates. I booked the Deluxe single room. It was cozy enough for one guest, especially if you only spend time there to sleep. The room assigned to me though had a post in the middle which I didn't like. The AC unit was functioning properly and I like the large screen LED TV provided. The bathroom is kind of small but is good enough for its price. I would recommend improving the lighting of the bathroom as it really gets very dim inside. The hotel staff is probably one of their core strengths. I find them courteous and accommodating. I will definitely book a room in this hotel again.

We stayed for a week, in this resort type Hotel, the rooms were big enough to accommodate four persons and comes with complimentary breakfast. They have 3 pools, 1 large wading pool, a kid's pool and a lap pool. The resort personnel were very accommodating and are always eager to assist us with our concerns. It is very accessible from the city center but at the same time it boasts a secluded location from the main road which makes it the best place to stay in terms of location, you'll get proximity and privacy not to mention the value of money. The vibe in the property is also very lively since young students always come to the place. Lots of trees plus a large lake were you can go fishing, The best place to be in GenSan!!!

This is a new hotel located across a shopping mall. The room is reasonably big, clean, and comfortable for a price half of its competitors of the same category. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Very accessible, located just behind one building on the main hi-way. The building facing the hi-way shielded it from traffic noise. The only reason I rated the "facilities" 4 stars is the lavatory. It clogged and there seems to be no rod to pull to lift its stopper. Aside from this minor technical problem, the hotel in general is excellent. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

The property was at Purok Malakas and there was a big signage which made it easy to locate. The building is relatively new. The food was good and staff friendly and helpful. Rooms and amenities are largely basic. Please be aware that the hotel, as a general rule, provides breakfast for 2 regardless of the number of persons in the room. We booked a de luxe trio but were made to pay for the breakfast of the 3rd person. We had Agoda settle the issue later on, but it is such an inconvenience arguing with the staff when you check in and you've had a long day of travel. It is best to contact with the hotel and clarify if you are booking a room for more than 2 persons (and expect breakfast).

Fortunate and glad to book this hotel. Fastest wifi! Better than my cellular data. Free Shuttle pick up from aiport to hotel and vice versa. Breakfast is adequate. Room is super clean and lay out is patterned to a cruise ship. In the market section of the city so dining out is a breeze! This will be my choice of hotel in Gensan! P.S. Staff are very friendly and willing to help or at service.

Our stay was almost great but seems like the staff in the hotel did not really pay attention to our instruction, it was a very important instruction because we dont want to miss our flight that day. Before we went to our room to rest we have clearly instructed the Front Desk that we need a taxi at 7AM bcause they have a Van but no driver and i don't know what happen because the morning staff did not get that message, was it because of lack of communication or whatsoever???? And this front desk just called the Taxi about 7:30 AM and we were a bit irrirated already because he lacks cooperation and iniative to follow-up, only does it when his asked. But overall the hotel was really a nice location and easy to locate. Thank You.

It was already 10PM when I started looking for a place to stay since I went around Sarangani the whole day and totally forgot to book ahead of time. Got this awesome place for just 410PHP and it was worth it! The downside is that the shower was broken and needed serious repair. What the staff (also the security guard) did was he used a knife to twist the handle so that water would flow. Aside from the shower, everthing was great, room was clean and the bed was also big. Really great value! I would suggest this place to everyone if you're on a tight budget. Hoping to stay in your place again soon!

For an overnight stay, we paid 2,900+ for a room with free breakfast. The room was clean, size was good and well furnished but I feel that the price was a bit high for what we got. The location however was great. It was near malls and there was adequate parking. There's a convenience store, a coffee shop, and a salon basically at your doorstep. The breakfast was not great but it was okay. At least they attempted a mini buffet and not just a plate in breakfast. If you are not on a budget and want a great, convenient location, give Sun City Suites a try!

This was our first time staying here. The resort is mostly quiet and pleasant. The pools are nice as are the grounds of the resort. It's a bit away from places. Fortunately we had a rental car, so we didn't have any difficulties getting to/from the hotel each day. I couldn't imagine staying there without a car. This hotel is not in General Santos City. It's in Polomolok, which is about a 15-20 minute drive from GenSan. The rooms are basic, but sufficient. Fairly spacious. It seems like all the rooms are the same size, the only difference being the bed arrangement. No major amenities. Cable/Satellite TV has enough channels. There is an ant problem in some of the rooms, but housekeeping will clean them upon request. I also bought some ant chalk that I put in key areas and that kept them out. The staff is nice, but I always had to ask to have the room cleaned each day. They delivered the breakfast each day to the room. Only Filipino options for the included breakfast. The Internet works most of the time. The speed isn't great, but at least it works. Overall, the Resort is pleasant place to stay. We stayed there nearly 2 weeks without any major complaints. A little renovation would do the rooms up nicely!

This hotel is brand new and has been open since May, if I remember. There are both good and bad things regarding this hotel. I'll go through the bad first and then the good. This hotel has no phones in any of their rooms so in order to get something I had to walk down to the front desk. I saw many ants crawling around our room (small red ones) and we couldn't leave food out or the ants would get into it. There was no desk, chair, or reading lamp in the room. The room service menu only serves breakfast foods right now. Since the hotel is so new, not many trike drivers know where the place is. Now for the good things about this hotel. While we did see ants, we also saw quite a few lizards that were eating ants...I wanted a lizard in our room. While the menu only serves breakfast, it is satisfactorily prepared and can always be ordered day or night. The hotel staff told us that the room service menu will be fleshed out soon. While there were no phones, I think they will be included soon as the staff has been busy installing things here and there. The location is great, it is two blocks from NDDU and Mindanao State. It is right on the main highway and within 6 minutes trike ride of the malls, clubs, and parks. The staff is very helpful and proficient at their duties. This hotel is not for those who are used to a higher quality stay, but if you are looking for a decent place that doesn't drain your pocketbook...this is a good idea.

I have stayed here over 300 nights since 2012. It is the best simple and homey stay, if you dont want a fancy hotel atmosphere, just a good safe place to stay, and conveniently located near markets, quick food, and main roads to town or out of town. I stay here because of the large rooms, quiet neighborhood, and kitchenette facilities. Its like a little home for me when I am working near GenSan. I have known the staff since 2012, they are always competent and friendly. I should give this place and amazing rating, but then Im afraid it will fill up and there wont be room for me next time I return, haha. Im a US research professor, doing scientific research nearby. This is a perfect home and working base for me (the wifi works great).

stayed for a total of 11 nights in the end. the hotel is well located and secure. transport is good, just stop a tricycle on the road, very cheap, for instance to kcc mall it costs 20 peso for 2 people. the staff were very nice and friendly.small points for the hotels attention are the pool needs to be filtered and cleaned and the cafe staff need to improve service which is quite poor. the pool is about 14 meters long, so is ok for swimming, the deep end is 5ft and shallow end 3ft, so safe enough. the cafe food is good with an extensive menu. the rooms have no balconies or terraces, so agoda take note and adjust the room details accordingly. the rooms are nice and clean and the beds very good. the rooms have kettles, but no tea or coffee, and the rooms have no fridges. shower is ok, normally cold, but this is normal here. remember this is an agricultural and fishing area with not many foreigners living here, so the pool is a rare luxury. the other hotels have no pools or gyms. the kcc mall is close by and has a good department store, supermarket and shops for most things and a cinema and eating places. a new mall is being constructed next door and is due to open in 2012 sometime. there is a mcdonalds about 200 meters from the hotel as well. i would definately recommend this hotel , and will be staying here again on my next trip there.

We spent 7 days in all at Roadhaus Hotel. This was the third hotel we stayed at in General Santos City as a sick family member was in Doctors Hospital for 2 weeks. This hotel was a clearly better than the other larger hotels. It is a Manny Pacquiao owned business which gives it additional character. The price was better value than others in the area but the real winner here was the incredible staff. I have travelled widely and this was a stand out hotel for service and friendliness. They made you feel at "home". All so happy and obliging. Particular individuals such as Jenny, Janessa, Melther Jay, Jenerie and Rosalie deserve mention but hard as all were great. The cook Donald has a dish listed as "Vegetables Chicken Chop Suey" but beware it is addictive. It is the simple things like calling ahead on the phone for a suitable time to make up the room, as against the traditional banging on the door. Well done to the management of this hotel.

The island of Mindanao has serious infrastructure issue so I cannot fault the hotel. Rolling blackouts, water shortages and lousy Internet. The electricity went off two, three times a day which knocked out the Internet if the Internet was working at all, again not always the fault of the hotel. Never did have hot water in any of the three rooms we were moved to, not big deal if you are Filipino and you come from the province but for everyone one else, the water was chilly at best. On the last day, no running water most of the morning, again the fault of the hotel. The further North you go, the worst conditions get. This location was General Santos. The food was excellent. No need to eat anywhere else and the prices were more then reasonable. The staff was very well trained and when I started handing out tips, it got even better!
