Best hotels & accommodations in South Dakota

This hotel was okay. We stayed for one night on a weekend as we were driving through to get home. The lobby is nice and large, and the lady who checked me in was very nice. The hotel is very large, so a map was provided so we could find our way to the pool and small waterpark. Our room was on the other end of the hotel from the pool, so we walked the distance of about ...

It’s obviously a very busy spot so understandably the place is getting worn, but the pool/hot tub has to be updated it’s so yellow and worn out. I’m sure the execs for the company know that and it’s on their list of priorities but they need to invest in it immediately. I wouldn’t let my kids in it.

Dee was the attendant at our time of check in. She was very competent. We were traveling with dogs for the first time. The hotel was accommodating and assigned a room that allowed us to bring them in with us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. No dog/cat or other animal smells. Needless to Day, we were happy with our stay

The location was centrally located to all of the tourist sights; however, the hotel is old, curtains are sagging and unhooked, and the window air conditioning is old and loud. I hop out of the shower at 10.00 PM with wet hair, only to find the blow dryer broken. When I called the desk I received a nonchalant clerk who said shed look for a replacement, but doubted th...

We chose this location because of it's proximity to the Black Hills, Badlands and Devil's tower. It is just off a main road that is quiet and safe. The included breakfast is hot and well catered. The facilities are clean and the people we met, staff and tourists, were very friendly. Overall, I was very pleased.

Pros: hot breakfast, nice pool and hot tub, friendly staff. Con: I am not sure if they had an elevator which did not bother me and my boys, but it may be harder for elderly or some with handicaps. I actually liked the stairs. They were located in the front and opened up the front desk area. It was easy to access the front desk from anywhere.

This motel is good value for money but they do have a resort fee which is a little redundant. Its clean, comfortable and the breakfast selection is ok. The pool looked good for kids but we did not use it. The staff were fantastic and friendly though and even being stuck in a snow storm here was fine. I would stay again.

Our stay was great, this hotel was only listed at one star on another site, so I took a chance because Agoda had it for a great price. We were pleasantly surprised and glad we took the chance. Staff was nice, hotel was across the street from two restaurants, kids loved the pool.

The staff was nice and always working hard. The beds were clean and comfortable. But there was very , very low water pressure in sink and shower. In fact, it was so low that it was difficult to get wet. The shower completely stopped twice while showering, and then came back on at a trickle. So I was unable to wash my hair - as it would have been impossible to rins...

I did not find that the staff was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived to the hotel or during our stay. The breakfast (sausage gravy and eggs) were cold. We had two bed in our room and one seemed like it was time to retire it! When you sat on it or laid down you sunk.

The staff there are friendly, the whole building and parking lot could use a good cleaning, stained carpets, garbage bins overflowing. The rooms were quite a bit better cleaned. The breakfast may as well have been non existent. Did not eat there due to uncleanliness of the lobby area where it was served. The location of the hotel is great.

- Great location - walking distance to Walmart, Taco Bell, Little Caesars - Friendly and helpful staff. Thumbs up. - Super clean. The place still feels new. - Washer and dryer available for guests to use (use coins). Bring your own detergent. Would love to stay here again!

Great hotel, was in the area visiting The Badlands, Mt Rushmore, and Custer State Park. My flight arrived early, and they were able to check me into a room before check in time. The suite was nice, spacious and very clean. There is food within walking distance, however downtown Rapid City is a good 10 minute drive. Uber/Lyft are available for around $15-$20 to get ...

We had a great one night stay. It was easy to get in and out. Great pizza place across the street. Breakfast wasn't anything special, but was serviceable. The staff was awesome!! They went above and beyond expectations when they found out we needed documents faxed for our house closing.

This motel is overall good. It was clean but I want to mention two things. First, it was really hard to operate the shower in my room. There was an instruction but it wouldn't work properly. Second, breakfast was not good. There were only a few things prepared, so I went to Walmart to grab my breakfast. If you don't expect too much, this place is great to stay a night....

For the money this place was awesome. I was hesitant on staying off main Street but the trolley comes every half hour to hour and drops you off on main Street for a buck!! Bar was small but very nice, wings were amazing!! Super easy check in and out.

If you're looking for a Quality Inn that looks great, this isn't the one. Our room door kept catching and so we'd have to slam it shut every time we went in or out which was a lot. The wall paper was peeling in spots and the shower head seemed to be too big or too low for the shower. I'm 4'11'' so it worked well for me, but anybody taller would dislike it and the water...

Love this chain of motels. Compact with everything I need. Week day staff was efficient but not friendly and didn’t see smile once. Sat. Saff was efficient, welcoming, bubbly and friendly. Liked the Rapid City so much, I’m staying. At Microtel,in Suoix Falls right now

Every employee was on top of their game and every employee always greeted you and had a smile and make you as comfortable as you possibly could be. The room was clean as if it is just been remodeled. We were there when they had just opened their restaurant for the first time there they could use some improvement with the servers everything seemed to be chaotic. They...

Nice room wil kitchenesse and large fridge. A/C is a very basic single unit with no wall thermostat and located right next to the bed (thus blowing onto it at night). Less than ideal. Indoor pool is pleasant and clean. Not much around, but the burger restaurant next door (2 mins walk) is excellent. It is connected to the Cambria hotel via an outdoor seating area, where...

Our stay at the Grand Gateway was a thumbs up. Though we came in a day early, the staff was very friendly and accomodated us. Bravo Zulu to them. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable which made our stay superb. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the area.

This is an older but nice, locally owned hotel. It lacks some of the amenities of the larger chain hotels, but it has very clean rooms that are more spacious than some of the bigger chain hotels. You won't feel cramped here. The only draw back is the location. Hot Springs is not nearly as touristy as some of the other nearby towns, so there is not as big a selectio...

Looks nice, they have done some remodeling The hot tub was covered like they aren't going to use it anymore. The water in the shower was lukewarm at best, that was my biggest complaint because I like it hot. Everything was clean and the front desk guy was very nice. I originally booked a king, but upon arrival he said they overbooked those. I didn't care but I could ...
