South Sulawesi hotels & accommodations

Stayed at the Swiss-Belhotel for 5 nights. We had a a room facing the ocean, beautiful view especially during Sunset. Room was a good size , enough for 2 adults and 2 young children. Hotel has good facilities, outdoor pool facing the ocean, gym, spa and gravity sky lounge on level 20, which I highly recommend. Live music available every night. Great breakfast buffe...

This brand new hotel looks more than 3 stars hotel, lobby n reception designed very well. The room is in compact size but very cozy n clean. Located at many tourist attraction, shopping center n local resto. I dont have chance to try the hotel breakfast. Check in/out is very fast, i even get late check out untill 3 PM. All staff are very awesome with warm hospitality....

I paid for non smoking room, but the receptionist gave me a smoking room without confirmation.. i called receptionist and asked to move to non smoking rooms, but she said no room available.. so upset.. i said to her, why she didnt ask me first, if no room, i didnt stay at this hotel.. she answered me "u cant reschedule if u booked from Agoda".. then i said "i dont want...

There are lots of new hotel in Makassar now. But my parents and our bug family always want to stay here. It's a big hotel, the swimming pool is one of the best in Makassar and we got good clean room. The staffs are friendly even though sometimes they seemed in a rush. We always get complimentary Markisa juice which really good and so Indonesia! Did I mention Clarion's ...

I booked with agoda & got complimentary breakfast, lunch & dinner throughout the stay. The foods were awesome & have lots of choices. I really like the complimentary coffee where I got 2 cups coffee of my choices everyday. Stay with 1yo & 5yo kids was really great experience here. They were running here & there all the time. The staff were friendly. Very close to shopp...

I’ve stayed in more than 20 different hotels in Makassar already, and Pesonna is one of my absolute favorites, especially for the price. It’s the best value for money! Very clean rooms, very nice and helpful staff, delicious room service (with the best pisang ijo in all of Makassar!) for great prices. This place is really cheap for what you get. I’d recommend it to eve...

I stayed here for 2 nights without breakfast. When we arrived and checked in, staff were okay although they served us with no smile. Well, that's not what I had expected from so-called 4 star hotel. The guy who served me directly, towards end of process, finally smiled and gave proper explanation, but the other staff didn't even bother to politely say hi. I don't know ...

We were arrived @2.30 a.m. in the morning (September 15th, 2017), with the disgruntled staff in the front office who said that he can't help us to make some kind of "surat keterangan menginap" with separate names, because the booking's name were by one name/one person (with TWO ROOMS), wich is me. "no can't do sir", "tidak bisa pak", berkali-kali... What is the probl...

For a three star hotel the price was a bit pricey since they don't have swimming pool and facilities like 4-5 star hotels. The quality of hospitality from the staffs was not as good as I remembered since last time I stay around 4-5 months ago. No complain for room amenities, it was clean and well prep. The hotel location is good though, I can go to the mall which conn...

The last 2 days spent at Hotel Aryaduta was definitely an excellent way to end our trip to South Sulawesi after exploring Tana Toraja. Upon arrival at the hotel, the welcoming smile by the hotel staff was much needed after a long 9 hours bus ride from Rantepao to Tana Toraja. Service was excellent. Went to Cafe Bellini to break fast and the food was excellent! Very d...

We were welcomed by friendly and professional staff. We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. Clean and modern furnishings in the rooms. Nice variety for the breakfast buffet. We stayed at 4 different places during our visit to the Sulawesi island and Novotel was my favourite.

I stayed 4 nghts. The hotel is located approx 1 km from main town road, however, it's either all down hill or up hill, steep walk to hotel Stunning views of the area, with rooms set in tradition style Toraja houses. My first room was unfortunately located looking directly at a kockeral pen, which did the normal crowing from 4am. I requested a move and was upgraded to ...

I like the hotel. Early check in available, clean, friendly staff. It was just the phone in the room using internet connection and the internet did not working, so I could never contact receptionist, use room service with the phone. There was a little flood in the shower, also. However, I still like this hotel.

I stayed for one night on transit to Southeast Sulawesi. The grandeur of this hotel is easily observed as soon as one arrives in the hotel lobby, complimented with very helpful staff and a good lounge. The room is spacious and has a good view of the streets below. Being on the 7th floor, the sea is easily visible creating a sense of familiarity with the city of Makassa...

If you want to explore Toraja (and you really should as it's unique) then Rantepao is the place from which to do so. And The Luta is the best in Rantepao. Why the best? Because it is newly built and clean and a good deal at approx $65 on Agoda. Though I'd recommend paying a bit more to upgrade to one of the suites as they come with bigger/better bathrooms. Sure, some h...

Booked this accommodation because of the location, I've been there before and I know the reliability of Accor Group. Ibis is one of well known budget hotel that never compromise customer's satisfaction. Glad they still maintain their standard, I felt safe, welcomed and comfortable when entering my room after work. The front staffs were quite polite, helpful and made ev...

If you have business around the heart of the city or the port in Makassar, South East Celebes of Indonesia than this is the hotel for you. Nothing fancy here. Just plain hotel to resta after long business meetings. The location is the charm. It is very easy to reach from central business disctrict. you can also easily walk to try to get the delicious local food.

The hotel which might have been built in the 1980's, charges its age and no longer meet the expectations of today's foreign tourists. The room was clean but... - Some windows have mosquito nets instead of panes, so we spent the nights with the concert given by all insects outside, and we got a little cold in the morning. - The sheets and towels were all stained and sme...
Cheap places to stay in South Sulawesi

The hotel was located in the town centre and within walking distance to Lossari beach. From there you can enjoy the sea and sunset. There is beautiful island and snorkerling activity at nearby island. You can take boat from the beach. In front of the beach there is a historical building during Dutch era "Fort Rotterdam'.Inside it there is a museum and you can get a lot of ...

General helpful staff who will get hot water for u if you approach them. The only setback is that the staff are not conversant in English and cannot help very much with using the pete pete (local blue vans). So if you wanna move around like a local, u will have to be resourceful and find info on your own. However, they can help to book Grab if that is what I want.

Quick and friendly check in..Compact room with old TV that need adjusting for signals. Free wifi and a/c. Ensuite ok. Breakfast of black coffee and two chocolate toasts included. Within walking distance to city and bus to Airport. Plenty of food stalls around.

I recommend the POD house bcoz it's the best hotel in Losari area for the traveller. Its clean and safe. Best view for sunset at the roof top. Easy to get food. You can walk to Fort Rotterdam and Somba Opu Street to buy souvenir. Close to jl. Rajawali and Butung Market. Not far from Trans studio and Akarena Beach, Balla lompoa museum. Sultan Hassanudian grave yard and...

First we booked the basic room and was told we could upgrade if we wanted to. we decided to upgrade to the rooms out the back that had air con, looked more comfortable and had their own bathrooms. the rooms were small but did us fine for the days we were there and the aircon was great! the food ar salassa was awesome! we had omelette and toast in the morning that was ...

Such such great value for money for what we had included - close to the airport (we only stayed one night as we had early flight), breakfast included, good shower, TV, room service and WiFi. Easy to get a grab in the morning from there to the airport also which was ideal (only about a 15 min drive depending on traffic).

It's a new building, good location, good price. It was beyond expectation n I'll definately recommend this place. I'd give 5 for cleanliness, but the bed sheet weren't worth 5 stars. So I put 4 instead. Do not forget to bring ur own bath stuffs as they don't provide one. But they so have towels.

We spent 4 nights here, the first 2 days for a conference while the rest 2 for holidays. The hotel is extremely clean. The location is superb, near to almost everywhere; mall, Karebosi Square, Losari Beach, Fort Rotterdam, you name it. WiFi connection is available in any room for free, it's not that fast though but more than enough to chat on WhatsApp or post something...

This 3 1/2 star hotel's service puts many 5-stars to shame. I arrived via ferry from Bau Bau to Makassar at the ungodly hour of 3AM. Best to sit tight at the ferry terminal and wait until sunrise. At 06:00 I walked to the Grand Populare enjoying the scenery and hoped only to be able to stash my luggage at the hotel. Much to my surprise, and gratitude, I was checked ...

Positive: Excellent Price/Value rate (payed around 200'000IDR/night). Very clean hotel and rooms. Clean simple toilets. Internet available, but connectivity/speed moderate. Kinky colourful design. Great support from very friendly staff (ride to bus station/airport, bus booking with METRO-Bus, providing contact person details for my next stop over in Rantepao). Hotel lo...

I shared about the very less water coming out from the bath shower which is really uncomfortable to the reception staff. They'd moved me to second room which are the same situation but a bit better than before. I decided to continue stay at the hotel after my 8 night so I booked another room with less price and I moved again. And finally, We've got a good and nice show...

Good value for money hotel. Rooms are fully functional but very small. We only stayed for one night before catching a flight the next day. The bathroom was clean, but suffered from bad smells from the plumbing.Due to the size of the rooms, I would not want to stay here for a longer period of time. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Pankkukang area and about...

The eight to ten hour night bus ride from the skeevy city that is Makassar to the highlands of Rantepao is not for the queasy. My sage advice: take a motion sickness pill and travel stoned. Ginger will not cut it. I sure wished I had taken my advice. I didn't. I arrived in Tana Toraja, the Land of the Dead, half-dead and my crisp new white shirt streaked with vo...

Booked from Agoda for Junior Suite about 4D3N unfortunately the room was not meet our expectations. Air conditioner not enough power to accommodate us. So we change to bigger room which have 2 air conditioner "Celino Suite". And its very comfortable. Hotel location near to Ratu Indah Mall walking distance about 5 minutes. We have a great holiday in Makassar and will de...
