Sukhothai Province hotels & places to stay

The resort is surrounded by the beautiful nature of Sukhothai, the rooms are big and beautiful in the typical countryside furnishings. Beautiful pool with amazing view of the countryside, the resort is only 2km from sukhothai hystorical park. I suggest the guest to try the spa and especially the thai massage. The lack of a gym and the not always very responsive staff are the only negative sides but you won't be bothered at all by this contros thanks to the beautiful landscapes and things to see around. For sure the best choice you are going to visit Sukhothai.

Great environment with trees and foliage providing a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has access to wat changlom at the back entrance. It has a small stream passing through it, which provides for opportunity to see some wildlife and adds to the character of the place. Sukhothai historical park is about 1km away. Bicycles are available at the park or can be hired locally. The swimming pool is warm as it gets the sun all day with no shade but is open till late. Enjoyed our 3 day stay with the staff providing great service. Breakfast was good with coconut hot cakes a favourite. We enjoyed the restaurant and food as we had a lunch after a morning visit to Sukhothai and 2 dinners. Massage was great best so far in Thailand.

I was making a question for myself, is it the first time in my life that I have a very great impression of a guesthouse?! And yes, it is! I thought that it was a 5 stars resort. - Room is very clean, comfortable and nice. - Location is very closed to Sukhothai Historical park. I think that it would be great to enjoy by a rent-me bicycle. It would be very cute and fun. - Staffs are super, wonderful and helpful in any manners. When I got there, they explained everything about Get-around, Get-out and Eat-out, always with an attractive smile. My backpack is like truck-container but the lady staff did her job to bring it to my room firstly - surprised me! Unlucky me that I had to go back to Bangkok because I had things to do. Even I already checked out, they asked me if I would like to take a shower before leaving in a very decent way. Always and always with a smile and try-to-help encouragement. This is a must-to-stay in Sukhothai, fellows, where would be better?! I decided to stay everytime I come to visit Sukhothai! And take your shot before they are out of the room. I tried to book 1 more night, but it was full. I feel regret not had 1 more night. It is worth your trip!

We have been in Sukhothai 3 times and always stayed at another hotel. When it was booked this time, we decided to try the Sawasdee Sukhothai Resort. What a great decision this was. The rooms are large, comfortable and really beautiful. Our bathroom sink was handmade ceramic and one of the wall was decorated with a large hand-painted design with elephants. The beds are comfortable and the room is really a separate little "hut" with it's own patio equipped with chairs and a table. The grounds are beautifully kept without being overdone. There were orchids in bloom hanging in most of the trees and lovely pots with water lilies. Breakfast included both Western and Thai dishes which were all delicious. The owner and other staff at this hotel are gracious, friendly and always willing to help with directions, recommendations and anything else you might want. We will be staying here whenever we visit Sukhothai in the future.

Scent of Sukhothai hotel/resort, is a little off the beaten track, it is a very quiet hotel, ldeal for young family's, and it has a good sized pool, it serves breakfast only ( eggs cooked to order) with all the other bits and bobs that you have, cereal, tea/coffee juice etc. Rooms are a good size, bathroom spotless, BUT, no safe deposit box in room. For a meal at night, you will have to go into Sukhothai itself, where there are numerous eating places, with beer and soft drinks available. If i have one gripe about the hotel, it is tbe lack of one English speaking tv channel to let people know what is going on in the world (good or bad), there are over 60 tv channels available, all, Thai, surely one english speaking channel is not too much to ask....is it ?. I would not rate it as Fantastic, as others have done, but as a good , relaxing place to be, i would certainly go back again

I loved my stay at the Sukhothai Heritage Resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The hotel has been open a few years but feels new. It is near the airport an I only stayed 1 night. I saw that there were bicycles for riding around the area, and beautiful places to ride and go see in the uniquely beautiful Sukhothai airport complex. The hotel is not near restaurants or the Sukhothai Heritage Park but the food there was good and I never mind taking transport to where I need to go. I stayed at Boon Lott's Elephant Sanctuary in Si Satchenalai, about 45 minutes away,before coming here. This is a great option for the night before an early flight after an exhilerating and beautiful visit to BLES. By the way, you really want to try and visit BLES!

In my life I never found good staff like this hotel ,I'm came Sukhothai first time and never know what I should to go, The staff she help me everything and what's very surprised! She try to help and find some motorbike rent but couldn't got it. She gave here key and she said " you can use it" Oh my god i never know here before but she be kind to me 😊. I stayed at this hotel 2 nights everything is perfect the room is very clean and staffs very good services. I promise will coming back soon, I would to say " Thank you so much to help and made my trip very good memories... Love you The old stay by sister hotel. Our stay was wonderful. We stayed longer than most guests stay in Sukhothai (7 days) because we were there for Loy Krathong. So we would go out to the historical site very early in the morning to take photos before the crowds arrived and return to the site late afternoon for the festivities. It was so good to have a place to spend time during the day that was so much more than a hotel room. If you went and sat in the restaurant you were made welcome (it was open all day) and it was very relaxing with the beautiful fish pond, there was the lovely gardens or the pool. All the staff were very friendly and it was like being part of a big family. Any questions we had about the area were sorted out, the owner helped us organise motor bike rental and even drove us to the airport bus link when we left. The food in the restuarant is fantastic, very authentic Thai. The breakfast menu is great with really interesting combinations that would suit everyone. So basically we loved staying here, would definitely stay again because we thought it was just lovely and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from big impersonal hotels to a smaller caring environment with great rooms, everything you could want in a lovely setting. We have been in Chiang Mai a few times for Loy Krathong and it is great but this festival in Sukhothai is just stunning. So thank you Foresto for a fun and relaxing time. We had never been to Sukhothai before and you were part of making it a wonderful experience.

I have stayed in many hotels in Sukhothai over the years, at last I'm pleased to say I've found one where I shall return again and again. The location is great, close to the old town and Historic Park and only a ten minute drive to the new town. The gardens, are lush and well kept, the rooms which sits on the lily ponds are well proportioned and tastefully furnished, the balcony a great place to sit with a cold one, The swimming pool is clean and the children's paddling pool close by was enjoyed by my young son. The peace and quiet of the evening, coupled with a good quality mattress, enabled me to get a really sound sleep. The staff were also a plus, very helpful, though they might be a struggle if you don't speak Thai. The negatives are trivial, but I will mention them anyway. The shower room is a little tired looking and the shower curtain was sticky and grim. Also the resort food and drink prices are high. A bottle of beer is over double what you would pay outside the grounds. However this is a small price to pay for the comfort and tranquility of this delightful establishment. 17/20. Will definitely return.

Located about 1.5 km from the historic town of Sukhothai, the highlight of our trip was not the ancient ruins or the delicious food of the restaurants surrounding the hotel. The highlight of our trip was this quaint, clean, quiet, respectful, beautiful hotel. Nune was courteous and always put our needs first. She made sure we had an umbrella when it began to rain, even running out into the pouring rain to sacrifice her own umbrella for us. She helped us find the resources to extend our visas at immigration, and she ensured that we had a room that had strong WiFi. She is the BEST hotelier that I have ever seen— and I have been traveling throughout Asia for the past 2 years nearly non-stop. The rooms were a nice size, but extremely clean. The air conditioner was strong and had obviously been maintained properly because it did not have a smell or circulate dust. The pool was peaceful, clean, and relaxing. There was no one else at the pool while we were there, but even if there were there were plenty of shaded lounge chairs and tables. There were clean bathrooms poolside, thus eliminating the need to go back to the hotel room if one needed to use the bathroom. Next time we go to Sukhothai, we will absolutely return. this is the first hotel ever that make me feel totally blown. i was in sukhothai for 1 day to visit the historical park. from sukhothai bus terminal i took a public transport tuk-tuk for 150baht (bargain from 250baht). room was very clean, with lots of windows, airy, nice decor and feel comfortable. they are using key to lock/unlock the door, so after hours of cycling and sweating i came back to my room with nice cold air-condition still on. staff was very friendly and immediately recognize me as the guess who has booked the hotel for the night. she also explain to me how to tour the historical park. breakfast was simple and self-service, but it was available all day and night as much as you can. how lovely. i totally totally reccomend this hotel to anyone coming to sukhothai. btw their place is also the pick up point for Air-asia, there is a minivan who will pick you up and send you to phitsanulok airport. the journey takes around 1 hour. they only have 5 rooms available, so book early. you've been warned!

We loved this hotel and would give it 10/10 even with a few facilities missing. The WiFi was 'iffy' but so it was in every hotel we stayed in that area over a week, even a couple of 5-star hotels. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble; the Thai food was excellent; the breakfast was more than sufficient; the location was excellent but we did have a car to get around everywhere in the region. We would not stay anywhere else in the Sukhothai area in the future and we shall be back. Sukhothai is a quiet but very interesting place to explore.

Chanalai hotel was nice and the service was awesom!, I've been spending two nights(cos my car was broke down on the way to Bangkok). The room was basic, but very comfortable & nice landscape. Not far from Head Seaw town but a bit far from the historical park 20mins drive, but all easily accessible by motorbike (Yes you can rent by the hotel 300/day). Any information you need for your visit to get around a town and the historical park by the hotel. I met the owner(Bell). He can provide you all you need to make your life easier. I have not found a single detail to complain about - the free wifi worked good .Overall, great and worth money I paid for.

i stayed here after spending a night at the grand riverside hotel in phitsanulok, taking a bus to sukhothai. little did i know that the songtaew fare would be to get to old sukhothai, but that is a byline. i was warmly greeted by the owners, who promptly showed me to my cozy room overlooking the pool. i almost had the entire place to myself, which allowed paolo to share some of his secrets for a successful trip to sukhothai and who encouraged me to sit back and relax. the pool was a wonderful way to relax in the heat of the day before i borrowed one of the establishment's scooters and tore off around sukhothai. what an amazing, laid back place just outside the city walls! the breakfast was truly incredible, as marketed. i would definitely stay here again if i returned to sukhothai!

The host is very nice!!! We arrived at night but the host said she cant find the booking record although we've already paid. Even no record but she still arranged the room for us and she apologized. We checked out at 10am on the next day and went to cycling at sukhothai historical park. At around 6 pm, we are very smelly after cycling >_< We tried to ask for a bathroom to take a shower since we gonna take the overnight bus to go back bangkok on that night (just try, we know that it's impossible) and she said "sure!" The host is really nice and she also gave me a hair dryer!! (Too embarrassed to ask for it) I love Sukhothai!! Will definitely live here again when we go sukhothai!!

The staff and owners were the most kindness people we'd met in Thailand. The hotel is spotless clean and the breakfast excellent. The hotel provides free bicycles for guests and is located at a small distance (200 or 300 metres) from the main historical park of Sukhothai. This a perfect quiet place to stay 2 or 3 days, surrounded by marvellous historical monuments, but most of all by the truly friendly people of the hotel. The girl in the reception speaks a perfect English and gives any important information for the guests, always with a big smile. My wife get sick during the travel and I asked the hotel if they could provide a bowl of steamed rice for her lunch at noon. Exactly at 12 a.m., 3 waiters came to our room with fresh water, a full diet meal and a basket of fruit. They didn´t charge for the meal in the check-out and also gave us a small bag of fruit for the trip to Chiang Mai. This stay will be unforgettable to us and we are thankful for the owners and staff of this hotel. Ce

Perfect location in New Sukhothai! Walking distance to Poo restaurant and Copper Bar (where we rented a motorbike for around 250 baht and were able to explore old sukhothai super easily). Hotel was very clean and had ample room, shower was fantastic and spacious and the room we had was overlooking the corner. Quiet except for the birds (which you cannot escape in sukhothai between dusk and 8pm) theyre seriously the lowdest and no one could tell us why there were so many all over the city

This is by far the best place we’ve stayed during our time in Southeast Asia :) Sukhothai Chalet is an authentic, family run place, literally right on the doorstep of Sukhothai Historical Park. Bikes are free to use meaning you’re just a 5 min cycle away from the restaurants in old city and the Chalet’s themselves are beautiful! The best part about our stay though was the staff, run by husband wife and grandma who make you feel like one of the family. These guys will go out of there way to cater to your every need, super friendly, warm and welcoming we felt right at home! The Owner even dropped us off at the bus station and the grandma had made sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves and gave us a traditional Thai lucky charm to give us good luck and fortune on our travels ❤️ We were so sad to leave! We shed a little tear and got a photo before we left. If you want to experience a real piece of Thailand this is the place to stay!

My sister and I stayed at the Ban Thai for two nights. First, we were a bit disappointed, because we were hoping to get a bungalow, but we were given a room in the building behind the kitchen (we came on the weekend before Loi Kratong, so it was crowded). Our room was small and very simple with an even smaller bathroom, but it was clean and there were no moskitos. The room was lacking opportunities to hang your clothes. We had no breakfast included, but it can be purchased for an acceptable price. The guesthouse offers a variety of Thai and also Western dishes for a good price, the fruitshakes are excellent and very cheap. Food is great, too. The old lady who is cooking is a gem, she hardly speaks any English but she is so nice and makes you feel like you stay with your own granny. Good WiFi, help with day-tours, buses and other information. The place is a bit small and lacks a garden or something like that, but it has a nice dining-area with TV to hang around and a small pond. You can rent motorcycles, too. Overall a great place in a good location ( a few meters away from New-Sukhothai main street and the bus stop to Old-Sukhothai). Highly recommended!

Do not be fooled by the information that the hotel is within the historical park, it is indeed about 6 Km from there, as most of the hotels in Sukhothai. So do not forget to rent a scooter or a bicycle. The room is of the motel type, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great if you come early, later you may have to "order" the dishes instead of helping yourself - the whole difference between a breakfast that allow you to walk all day long and have a dinner, and the one which fills your stomach until lunch. All in all a very recommendable low price hotel.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice bungalow we were given. The bungalow was very clean, large and nicely decorated with all the usual amenities. The bungalow came with a large veranda overlooking the garden so was quiet and did not look out on other bungalows like some of the others did. The restaurant was good. The staff were all smiling and friendly, some didn't speak English but were smiley. The resort is two minutes walk away from the old wooden buses that take you to Old Sukhothai so well located and a good service. Pai Sukhothai Resort is highly recommended.

we wanted stay in old Sukhothai because the monument are cloaer than if you stay in new Sukhothai. but here.....you are into the monuments :) tha place is perfect clean, perfect and confortable bed. the house have a garden where you will have breakfast with birds sound. during night and day is very very peacefull. no traffic, no crowdy. the owner is the best! she is very helpfull and smiling people. we definitely would came back!!!!

We loved the hotel clerk, he spoke the best English of anyone we’ve met in Thailand yet and was very knowledgeable about Sukhothai places, prices, etc. The room was also the nicest yet, with the most comfortable bed! Washrooms were large, clean, and for once in Thailand there was no mold! The hotel also offered a book with info like bus times tables and history on the main sites that was very helpful. Downsides were that it was a bit of a walk into the main area and they do not rent bicycles at the hotel. They also do not offer breakfast although I read that they did, and it was a bit noisy early in the morning when neighbors were getting up for early tours - and we could even hear the prayers and music coming from inside the park (prayers did not bother us but the base music at 6 am was a little annoying). And over 200 channels on tv but not one in English.
