I was there for 2 nights for my kids inline hockey tournament which was only 2 mins drive from the hotel. But the reason why i booked this place was because of the indoor heated pool and spa. The first night we went 8:30 to the pool and it was cold. sat in the spa and nothing was working in it and the water was cold. was very disappointed with that. But lovely staff

Our first visit to New Plymouth, we found it a great place to stay. Very handy for the supermarkets & shops. Also easy to visit Egmont, Dawson Falls and Mount Taranaki. So much so instead of checking out on Monday, we stayed another night. Would recommend this motel anytime.

Big tick for location. Once you get there you don't need to use the car again. Great bars and restaurants are within a minutes walk of the hotel. Hawera is about 50km from the start of the Mt Taranaki trail, so this would not be a convenient location as a base. However, Dawson Falls is nearer and we managed to do both trails on consecutive days. The hotel looks new, is neat and clean with all the necessary amenities. Parking is free but my grouses are (1) the internet usage was fixed at between 4-6 hours usage...
Loved staying here with my bestie (whose pretty fussy). Apart from the distance from town (on foot as there are no buses) it was still a great place to stay. Staff were accessible at all hours via conferencing which was different but not a bad experience at all. Would def. stay again if I had private transport. Excellent facilities and super spacious and clean too.
Lyn was amazing - unit was very clean and spacious. Kitchen has everything!, Shower is amazing and has a bath to soak in. Has the most amazing creek with eels to feed! Better than any inner city hotel if your travelling with kids :-)
We arrived at the hotel to the most friendliest staff member, Marie. She provided tips on where to visit and given us a map. Home made cookies and local milk offered on the house. The room was clean. The bed was super comfortable. Recommendation for their restaurant- The Orangery. Was not disappointed. Best meal in a while. Would come back and stay again.

Was a bid hard to fall asleep when you hear loud voices of backpackers behind thin walls. Just a hint - try to book a room on the opposite site of the parking.
Due to jetlag after a long, long journey we turned up on the wrong day. The hosts went out of their way to accommodate us and we liked it so much we stayed an extra night.
Just Gorgeous. Host and Hostess are so kind and friendly. Our room with private bathroom is so comfortable and clean. Mini kitchen is very helpful. What is more, spa in the garden is wonderful. Spacious room, great location close to the coastal walk and the wind wand, plenty of restaurant and shops around. The Salt restaurant on the first floor is one of the best in New Plymouth. Trust me, I've been around. Only downside, parking space can be a bit of a challenge if you come back late.
It was very comfortable. Had a small problem with the TV but the staff was very helpful and obliging.
Awesomely comfortable bed, hostes were extremely accomodating and pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Couldn't have asked for more.

Stayed at Arcadia Lodge for two night for Mount Taranaki hike on Day 1. This stay is great. We stayed in the en-suite, room abit small but managable and ok. The wifi is strong, carpark are free and available, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We walk around New Plymount and the stay is only a few min walk. Best value for money stay in New Zealand.
I had a really wonderful time staying at this B&B! The bed was so comfortable, there was good breakfast (Sausages, eggs, cereals), and you can have all the coffee, & tea all you want all day long! Lovely B+B in Stratford, looking toward Mt. Taranaki. Judith was a great hostess. Beautiful room with all we needed for our one night stay. We were offered three cooked breakfast choices. The eggs benedict and french toast were superb. Judith even offered homemade pavola the night we arrived......delicious!

The stay at this home was delightful. Very nice room and bathroom, and the home is located in lovely rural surrounds. Although it is a bit difficult to find the home and it is a bit far out of town. The hosts were very gracious and welcoming. Unfortunately there is no wifi or iron in the room. But everything else is is perfect including free breakfast.
For me, the best value for money stay in New Plymouth. You can tell there is so much thought and detail put in to the hotel through the furnishings, the decor, and each room. Very decent, clean and comfortable place to stay. The host Karen and Murrie are super nice and helpful, they gave us lots of information about the area and advised activities to go. Bebie, the super lovely cat also gave us a good acompany during our stay! We will definitely come back if we visit New Plymouth again.
