Tasmania State hotels & accommodations

This hotel is simply the best hotel we have stayed during our 12-day trip in Tasmania. We checked ourselves in a Spa suite. It was close to US$380 a night, which was out of our budget a little bit but due to lack of choices (the hotel was almost fully booked pre-Xmas) we booked that room anyway. Thankfully, the hotel didn't disappoint us. The suite looked cozy and ...

Beautiful room with a private spa in the middle of the room. We were so happy to spend time here for our honeymoon. A great place for whose wanna go hiking in cradle mountain. Good service with facilities. We also went to the Tasmania devils center. Love to know more and meet this special animals. I wish i could stay one more day xx

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was very spacious and clean. It had everything you could want and it felt like a home away from home. Location was central to city and docks area and particularly loved the free parking. The room service meals were huge especially the breakfast and costs were very reasonable compared to many other hotels we have stayed at. Was...

The Service was great we loved our time in Tasmania. The rooms were comfortable and clean everything we needed for a pleasant stay was provided. We actually went back for a second stay on our last night as it was convenient for us We will most likely stay there again in the future. The casino itself was a little outdated but all in all very good.

Let me start off with saying that the bed and pillow was extremely comfortable, one of the better sleeps I've had in a hotel and one of the more important things to rate a hotel for! The gym had enough equipment for a decent workout and it has onsite car parking for a decent price. Lastly the location on the docks was fantastic, providing easy access to the Taste of Ta...

It had been 30 years since I visited Hobart, and I must say that I didnt fully appreciate the beauty and what Hobart had to offer then. Our main rason for coming this time was to see The Musem of Old and New Art MONA. And let me say that experience met every expectation, Another Jewel for Tasmania to be pround of. The location of Somerset on the Pier H...

We were so pleased to arrive at the Best Western in Hobart after hiking around the great outdoors of Tasmania. The staff were welcoming and friendly and had our registration done quickly so we could get to our room, shower, change and experience the beautiful city of Hobart - everything was an easy walk from the hotel, we will recommend the Best Western and definitely ...

As I step in the hotel, I had good isummary on Tasmania weather forest. There are many entry and exit to the hotel/ apartment using electronic key. The room is big and the layout is just perfect to make the room spacious. The kitchen facility is very good. Ithe only regret I had was that I stay only one night in this hotel!

Great Hotel. This Hotel doesn't look like a hotel from the façade but when you step in it certainly is. I made my booking through Agoda and checked the day before I was due to confirm booking. The staff were very helpful and polite. Upon arrival the staff again were very friendly and helpful and explained everything I needed to know and also explained about their faci...

Went for Dark Mofo festival and MONA never stayed at Henry Jones before but I have been to Tasmania and Hobart many times in the last 15 years. I didn't set my sights too high but I was very pleasantly surprised. Great hotel one of the best in Australia! I'll be back for sure.

easy checkin, very, very happy with room, wanted to stay longer and will next time i go to tasmania. this accommodation has everything you could need or ask for. sensible basin outside the bathroom so one can shave while other showers, saving time, large and well equipped room. only two possible disadvantages. the first would be the narrow winding roads in the approach...

You cannot think of other hotel when it comes to location other than Customs House Hotel Hobart. It is in the heart of Hobart in front of the sea. If you want to go to Salamanca Market it is just 3-5 mins walk. It is located in the very corner of Murray st. The receptionist is very nice I forgot to ask her name but I think she is Asian. The food in the restaurant is re...

we've enjoyed our stay at the sullivans cove apartments. we had an apartment on level three and the view was spectacular of the waterfront. we were so close to the famous restaurants of the elizabeth street pier and within walking distance to the salamanca place where a lot of good restaurants were located and salamanca market took place on saturday mornings. the ap...

This was one of the best chalet I stayed during my visit to Tasmania. The chalet was really nice and quite big. The view from the balcony was really amazing. It would be great if they can also provide washer/dryer in the unit even though there is shared laundry at public area. Please also make sure you keep enough food/groceries as most of the nearby shops close quit...

I arrived late evening and the hotel receptionist was expecting me and quickly had me organized with my room. I had everything I needed in the room for a comfortable stay. The restaurant provide a large menu for breakfast and I really enjoyed that good start for the day. I would go back there if a hotel is ever needed for a future stay in Tasmania. Thank you Hot...

Hi, For the price I paid I am sure this was the best option. Location is very good, rooms are comfortable and clean. Downstairs is a Pub where they serve the breakfast in the morning. There are some drunk people coming back to their rooms in the evening laughing and making noise. But it is not the hotel's fault. Staff are great. Cassie is a hard worker giving back a ...

The suites provide packing areas for the guests but they always fully occupied. But it seems that the suites are not so fully booked. Indeed, We can park our car up to the hotel’s parking spaces but it’s not so convenient . I suggest the suite management can provide a notice card for the guest to put in the car so that they can clarify the cars which have parked in th...

Suggest to include the number of bath room & toilet info.for those villas. As we booked a 3 bedrooms villas and found only one bathroom/toilet for a group of 9 (audlts & kids) upon check-in. We are lucky with friendly staff who help us change to 4 bedroom villas with 2 bathroom/toilet. Highly recommended this 4 bedroom villas if you have a group to stay, this vi...

The hotel is of a decent size and well self contained. This is my second time frequenting this hotel. This time we booked a Family 3 room type and it is in a cottage. Similar room design as those pictured on their website. Clean, big and bright rooms were what we loved. It's got a small fridge and microwave available too! The only drawback of this hotel is that it is s...

when you just need to get a bath and a comfortable bed right out from a long haul flight, this hotel is a godsend. the cabin has 2 bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other a double. there is a fridge, stove and tv - just about everything you'd expect of a cabin near city. and most importantly, this place is quiet. hobart is 15 minutes away - please be aware of ...

I first stayed at Hadleys for a short stay in Sept 2015 and decided there and then to return for a proper holiday. This hotel for me was perfect. Location location couldn't be better. The staff from reception who were so friendly and efficient and welcoming every day, to housekeeping cant be faulted. The hotel has a guest lift and only 4 floors and the décor is old wo...

Excellent site, modern facility. Both normal and decaffeinated ground coffee were provided with a good press and milk. The self catering aspect of the apartment was good, Bathroom facility and supplies were excellent. The room heating was required and most efficient. The provision of a good TV with free up to date movies and WIFI was most appreciated. Bedroom facing m...

Stayed at the Resort on entry to and again on departure form Tasmania. Great resort, good facilities and a comfortable place to explore the northern part of Tasmania before heading off to the South. Facilities, including the restaurant were terrific. I would gladly stay here again

The hotel location is strategic as the first time traveller to Tasmania. We are able to travell using local public transport which is within walking distant from the hotel. The hotel provides cooking facilities which is convenient for the guests who want to eat simple food at time. It is also close to the places for food if we decide to eat out. The staff is helpful an...

This is truly the best accommodation we had during our one week Tasmania trip. The room was extremely clean. The hut was warm and cozy during winter. The staff is extremely friendly too. The highlight was actually the wildlife surround the hut. There were wombats, wallabies and possums.

Checked in to this hotel with ease. Sameer was very helpfu as there was a miscommunication between online booking platform with the hotel. but all sorted out relatively quickly. as it's a brand new hotel (they just celebrated 1st anniversary when i stayed there in June 2019), the facilities are still very nice. the downside is there was no swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi...
Cheap places to stay in Tasmania State

We've stayed one night before we left on our Tasmania tour, so on that occasion we only spent a few hours at the hotel. We loved the hotel's Vicrorian character. Its central location is very convenient. The lady running the reception was very pleasant and kind.

We loved to stay at The Waratah Hotel because was like staying in a family's place. Everybody in the staff was very friendly and willing to help with everything they can, from sightseeing to tours around Tasmania. The room was very cosy, tidy, spacious and warm (because even it was summer it can get pretty cold in Tasmania at night). We really felt that we were home. ...

If you’re looking for a charming, fun hostel to meet people to travel around Tassie, look no further. They have free shuttle buses to take you to see the MONA and Mt Wellington every week. They also have a pool table, Netflix, Foosball table, guitars in case you want to stay in. The staff are the absolute best! Dean, Emily or John can tell you about the events going on...

Location is central so it's very convenient to go anywhere, eg grocery shopping, exploring central Hobart, taking buses to other places or other parts of Tasmania, etc. Reception area is located one level up from the street level. There are no lifts to the reception area or to the rooms so travelers with big or heavy luggage have to bear this in mind. There's a huge ki...

this must be the best backpackers around. it was a lovely building and so conveniently located in the city. facilities such as the communal kitchen, tv room and laundry were excellent. our room was clean and comfortable with ample storage space. for the money we paid, this was really great.

You may confirm your letter of booking in this hottel and make a clear deal with the hotel manager on your booking room. They may anytime confuse with the agoda booking. If anything happen just make acall with agoda and they will settle it. However, this hostel is a good location for a backpackers to stay on. Its take about 5 minutes walk to go to the city and another ...

My partner and I booked the budget double room and considering it was the cheapest accommodation we’ve stayed in on our travels, we didn’t have high hopes. HOWEVER our expectations were very exceeded enormously. Room was nicely sized, facilities were great, bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean. Dinner at the restaurant was also delicious, with an overa...

Staff there was really friendly. Though I asked a lot of questions, he answered with smile. But the number of staff was not enough. They had to take care of checking in and out, and served at the bar. It has great location. The bus stop from and to the airport was nearby, and it is located in the center. Tasmania is so small that we could walk anywhere in the city. (친...

I'm so happy to stay at Montacute for 2 nights and it's the best backpacker hostel I've ever been to! Everything is very clean and tidy. People are nice and quiet at night. I had very good deep sleep. Also, the owners are very friendly and not just run their family business for money only. They take care of backpackers. For example, beds are very comfty and high qualit...

Loved the peace and quiet being so close to the city. Had few tours booked during my stay and the accomodation is well known for my guides. Also handy for other conveniences such as booking airport shuttles etc. Friendly staff and clean kitchen/ dining space. :) 👏🏻

Major cons for me: NO lift. Be prepare to carry your luggage up the stairs. Booked a room with private bathroom. It was located on the 1st floor, so the 10 steps or so flight of stair were still manageable for me... *sweat*. Apart from that, had a comfy 1 week stay. One of the memorable aspect for me was the complimentary brown sugars and Bushells Tea bags :)

I am afraid it was the most terrible stay I have ever had. Our room (a twin room) was in poor condition when there is big hole in the door; the heater could not be turned on. We were told that the heater would be automatically turned on at 12.00am??? We felt no warm at all, maybe because of the big hole. And it's winter in Tasmania, guys. The bathroom, OMG, was so di...

This was booked because Agoda said it was at Coles Bay, it was actually over an hours drive away so we had to back track a lot which was frustrating. However the place itself was lovely and the staff very nice. The cabins were small but have everything you need and the grounds are beautiful and full of wildlife. It was nice and quiet and would be a great place to sp...

We did a 3 night stay in the Safari tent. There are only 2 Safari tents for now, followed by a patch of grass land beside Safari tent 2, perhaps for future developments. It comes with a balcony facing tall trees along the rocky coast, you can definitely hear the waves clashing. Cooking is done with the stove & sink at the balcony. You'll wake up every morning to beauti...

Stayed at twin room. There were only 2 single bed, a sink and a chair. Bathroom was shared. Lights in washroom did not turn on. Few guests stayed at the hotel. Felt like we were the only guests. One room was set aside as guest lounge in which fridge, microwave and toaster were there for use. Free parking at the back. Small gaming area. The pub nearby is quite noisy. Lu...

This place is located very close to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. We stayed here on the night on our arrival & again for a couple of nights before our departure. The rooms were presented in a neat & clean condition & aircon worked well! There was enough room to setup the portacot for the bub as well. It is close to shops & restaurants & there is a common room ...

An awesome stay on the Cradle Mountain. Thank you so much Jenni Teresa for preparing the room for us. We checked in late, keys can be found in the letter box at reception, we entered our accommodation with the electric fire place turned on, warming our hearts on that very cold night. It was perfect. Place was clean and it had everything you would need for a luxurious l...

One of the cheapest accommodation during our trip in Tasmania. The sliding toilet door seemed to be self improvised hanging onto a sliding groove by two screws. The sliding was not smooth and the door will drop. As adult we could handle but not safe for children. The old gentleman manning the motel was very friendly.

Huge common area for kitchen, lounging, and dining. Clean and simple. Yummy food from pub next door with very reasonable price. Located near supermarket and petrol station. Few minutes drive from a quiet beautiful beach and ice cream parlour offering the best strawberry ice cream ever along with some fruit wine (situated on acres of land right on Tasman Highway). ...

This hotel has cheap rates, but it is very clean.Bathrooms are seperate but also clean and locked. We we’re lucky to have straight across from our room. Hotel has good food and close’s pretty early so noise was not an issue. Good parking and good facilities just a walk away.

Nice lodge with fire in lounge room. Place was spotlessly clean. The room was nice but it was tiny. So be prepared if you share a room with others. Good sized TV for night time viewing and more than adequate kitchen facilities. The single bed is extremely expensive, but that does include entry to Tahune walks. Night walk is offered as airwalk has reflectors, but no tor...

Stayed in the Economy Single with Shared Bathroom. Reception staff were friendly. Room had a breakfast box included which was a nice little surprise. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner) were provided and you have your own sink in the room which was perfect. Room and toilets were newly renovated and clean. There is a TV in your own room as well. Location was excelle...

The proximity of the Motel to the various points of interest in Hobart and the bonus of a covered car park made our brief touring visit to the city and to various other locations in Tasmania both comfortable and easy. The staff were both friendly and helpful and the various facilities provided were excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to o...

Absolutely loved it here. If you can book a stand alone stone cottage by the water then sell your left kidney and do it. They're just beautiful. We stayed in an 'ordinary' room and it was still excellent. The rooms are SO large, the bathrooms just as large, and the French doors opened to a sparkling bay. It was like the French countryside and the Hamptons had a baby ...

I like this Motel 429 bcuz of its location, friendly and very nice staff. The staff was very cooperative and welcoming their guest. If i visit Tasmania and come to Hobort this would be my place to stay.. i recommend my friends and family this Motel.

our stay at the mantra one sandy bay road was just sensational. campbell and colleen went out of their way to make sure our questions regarding tourist attractions, directions on how to get their, best restaurants to dine in etc. well done to both of you !!! next time we are in tasmania we will certainly say at the mantra sandy bay. kind regards melinda and ian.

Amidst good reviews and having had good previous experiences we hit a bad day. Our room was great and overall the hotel remains in the top end of Hobart accomodation. Our experience was spoilt due to management not putting enough staff on in the breakfast room. Double time obviously an issue. This is the result of being MEAN. It was mothers Day !! We booked the Wint...

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Launceston, Tasmania, with supermarkets, delis, nice restaurants and petrol stations nearby. The hotel is new and the room is clean, comfortable and cheerfully decorated with a bright orange armchair. The room also comes with a quirkily designed roller blinds that allow you to choose the desired amount of natural li...

Very confusing around check in and I got quite upset as well..after a long journey..and after have received confirming mails about reception...... I booked via Agoda, excellent service and help from their side..they even called the hotel for me... The hotel wanted me to sent my card details by mail, even though all my booking was paid for months ahead.....Who would ev...

My husband and I stayed in the self contained apartments and we were very impressed with the size of the rooms. It was very clean and quiet. It was great to have a stove to cook on and a good size fridge to keep our food in.We also liked how the rooms were done in an older style decor. The bed was very comfortable. The only item I have to complain about was the toilet pape...

Surrounding views are spectacular. I think I expected a little more luxury in our suite and found it quiet basic. Suite was very clean and comfortable. Maybe a little welcoming gift might be a nice on arrival. As we travelled over Tasmania a lot of other places had either some wines and a few chocolates on arrival. Gives it a nice personal touch.

One of our favourites property to stay during our 8 day trip to Tasmania. 2TV although the TV in the bedroom has limited channels. Overall ambience of the property & service - good. Only 15 mins drive to airport which is great when we need to catch an early flight. Supermarket is short drive only. Had problem with wifi & the kind gentleman at reception loan us a modem....

Booked here for 2 nights. The location is great, walking distance to town centre, Coles Supermarket and many restaurants. Pauline, the host is very helpful and passionate about her work, she made every effort to ensure the guests need are taken care of. They also provide a free, secured parking within the compound. We booked a ground floor Queen room, it would be great...

Lake Pedder is amazing .. the drive in is stunning .. it's just an incredible place .. it's a must see destination .. you could spend 6 months here and you would still only scratch the surface .. the hotel is warm and comfortable .. the bar and the restaurant arefantastic and the view is stunning .. a must see destination whilst in Tasmania ..

I stayed at Lufra Hotel and Apartments for 3-4nights with my mum. On the 3rd night, I came back to a note on my body yogurt from The Body Shop stating that the staff had broke the container during housekeeping. The container of my body yogurt had such a huge crack at the bottom that I could just use it as a lid. The note from the manager also stated that they would...

From the check in to check out the service was excellent. The hotel were fine to upgrade us at check in and we paid additional in cash. The room was quite clean and the spa was great and big enough for two. The restaurant downstairs also had excellent food. Out of the three hotels we stayed in while in Tasmania, this one was the best by far. The other cool thi...

It was definitely one of my most living experiences in my life! The room was definitely suitable for young couples and families of which you could not only enjoy the night to reconnect each other, but also a great experience to stay with lambs in an extraordinary peaceful and lovely farm. The next stay we joined the paid farm tour, which was also a very good experien...

Excellent location for visiting Salamanca Market (opens Saturdays only), and the waterfront where there are lots of restaurants. Hobart CBD isn't very large, so Elizabeth Street Mall is just 10 minutes walk away. There is also a "Farmgate" market on Sunday, but Salamanca was enough for us. Room was spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Wish I had more opportunity to...

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Salamanca Wharf Hotel while on our honeymoon in Australia. The hotel is close to Salamanca Place, and we were able to easily walk to restaurants and the market on Saturday morning. Our room was wonderful - a studio that was clean, had many amenities and was quiet despite the busy area we were in. The staff were so fr...

I am into boutique hotels and always make it my first accommodation choice when traveling. Islington hotel is among the best ones I have ever stayed at. The apartment is lovely, well equipped with a lot of amenities. What I love the most is how well thought of providing different pillows with different softness suited for each individuals. The view is to die for! Do note the apartments are located near highway and you can hear the cars, traffic are not heavy though. Sue has been a great host, response from her for ...

It was the most memorable homestay experience I've ever had! From the unique hill top location and the warmth of the hosts Paul and Judith to every single detail of the magnificent house, there is nothing left to complain.
