Tianjin Municipality hotels & places to stay

The hotel is strategically located as it is walking distance to 3 main visiting sites in my plan. Firstly, the hotel is right next to the river where the TIanjin Eye is. We managed to capture many nice pictures of the beautiful Tianjin Eye. Then, with the assistance of the helpful and friendly hotel staff, we got the direction to the Ancient Cultural Street. We had a good time walking and shopping at the cultural street. The hotel is also 5 minutes walk to the Dabei Temple. Overall, the hotel room was superb and our one night stay at the hotel was really value for money. We will recommend the hotel and Agoda to friends.

This is my second time staying at the hotel and the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, the staffs were greeting me by my name and telling me it is great to see me again. After the long travelling hours, this gesture from the hotel staffs made me felt like I have reached home and not another hotel. They staffs constantly asked me how was my stay throughout the 3 days that I was there as they want to ensure I have a very comfortable stay. Even the gym staff remembered me and asked me how was my stay and if everything is good. Under the good leadership of the manager, this is a team of very professional and caring staffs. When I was having dinner at the hotel's restuarant, despite it being my fault for being there so late and the kitchen wasn't able to prepare everything on the menu, they gave me a discount on my meal. The rooms as usual are very clean, spacious and well-maintained. There is nothing bad I can pick about the room amenities, Hilton Tianjin ensured they used the best products. Although the location is very far fromTianjin main city, the hotel is definitely the best in eco-city and they do provide transportation services to nearby town. I would recommend this hotel to all business travellers going to the eco-city or residents of China who wished to have a short break in the eco-city away from busy city life and air pollution.

A great way to just relax. We had booked a superior room, but when we arrived, all rooms in this category were taken. So we go a free upgrade to a deluxe room. It was beautiful. A lot of thought had obviously gone into the decor, the bathroom was pure pleasure, state-of-the-art technology, extremely comfortable bed. The pool is great despite being in the basement, because it has a beautiful skylight. The staff is surprisingly friendly, well-trained. All in all it was a great stay!

My trip to Tianjin was a surprise birthday present by my partner, and i was even more pleased by the choice of hotel. Our stay at the Shangri-la has been nothing less than outstanding. From the moment of us walking through the revolving main doors it felt like we were the centre of attention. We were ushered to the main desk and with someone immediately taking our luggage. The concierge spoke English and we were soon checked in. (Only little problem was that we were unaware of the deposit fee prior to speaking to the concierge [500rmb/night] and they only take credit card or cash, not too big a problem though). Anyway, the room itself was spacious, comfortable and clean. The bathroom especially boasted a large bathtub and separate shower, the ‘his and hers’ sinks were a big plus for my partner and who refuses to share! The bed was king sized and provided plenty of room either however it was a little short (i’m 6ft and my feet would hang off the end of the bed if I stretched out). The window blinds were the star of the room. It’s funny to say but it’s true! As soon as those blinds went down the room was pitch black, and i mean blackhole black. Even in the morning with the sun in the sky, no light breaks through those blinds, I woke up several times in the morning looked around, realised I couldn’t see anything, assumed it was still nighttime and promptly went back to sleep! A shopping mall is a stones throw away as is the subway. You can always find taxis or bicycles near the hotel, so getting to any tourist location is very convenient. The floor managers in the lobby were very pleasant and polite, they greeted me by name and seemed to genuinely be willing to go the extra mile. Case in point, during the train journey to another city i realised that I’d forgotten my iPad in the room. One quick call later, it was found and ready to be sent to our next destination. Overall, Shangri-La surpassed my original expectations. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

I was not happy in my stay due to very poor staff , the staff is not trained to serve you as guest . The reception not aware of many hotel roles . When I arrived at 4 p.m. , the reception informed that I can't access the room till 6 p.m. , I have nothing to say except to accept . Then they chosen to me non-smoking room while I had requested through agoda smoking room , however reception informed me that I can smoke in lounge so I accept the room . But when I went to lounge they informed me it is non-smoking , and they told me to go 3rd floor to smoke , when I pressed 3rd floor in elevator it didn't accept since I have no permission . Another bad moment when I went to breakfast at morning , there was no one at front to welcome you and when you request something the staff never come back to you , I wish it was not intentionally

Hyatt Regency Tianjin East is basically a fine hotel but its present location is rather remote, not convenient and away from most amenities. Its last location in the city centre was more ideal. Also the fitness club staff require hotel guests to use a swimming cap or purchase one at an inflated price at the fitness centre or they will not be allowed to use the swimming pool because they claimed that this was to prevent human hair from clogging the plumbings in the pool! Staff also require hotel guests to be in sport attire before they allow them to use the gym. This is the first time I have heard of such ridiculous reasons or excuses especially from a 5-star hotel like the Hyatt Regency!

It's a long metro ride from the heart of Tianjin, but it's a very nice little hotel. They offer a nice breakfast off the main entrance for 29 RMB, when it's not included in your hotel room fee, which was my case. It's in one of the newer zones of Tianjin, but there is a lot of infrastructure that is right there and convenient. About a 25 minute walk to the nearest metro station which will take you into central and historic area of Tianjin. Takes about an hour on the mmetro 9RMB.

The hotel is located in the same building as the metro subway entrance. Quite a few halal restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance (which is good for those muslim travelers) and near enough to various shopping districts in Tianjin by subway. The laundry room is well maintained and spacious enough for us to do laundry. The hotel building looks old but the room is clean and comfortable. However, the size of the room is smaller but good enough for the two of us.

The hotel is close to the Beijing-Tianjin railway station and not too far from the Airport, so the taxi fares are not much. With the restaurant on ground floor, we can have our breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The food is tasty and not expensive. The staff booked the taxi to Airport for us in advance and the taxi driver charged us the metered fare. The hotel room is big and clean, the shower was good and we felt very comfortable to stay in the room.

I like this hotel and will stay here again. The location is excellent and the room is large - apartment-sized. The best part is that is has a heating and air con system that is fully controlled in the room. Most hotels cook you at night but not this place. It is the best I have found in all of China. The rooms are old and in need of upgrade. It is not the cleanest place either but all of these things are easy to overlook when everything is considered. Very little english from most of the staff but they are very good and find a way. I look forward to my next visit.

Our first experience stay at this hotel give us the first impression of excellent service by staff, beautiful hotel and good location (nearby Tianjin Railway Station) for those traveller who wish to experience going to Beijing by bullet train. Value for money for 5 star hotel. With free internet excess inside the room gave us more convenience to plan our trip. Our deluxe room have all facilities provided especially the bigger bathroom space. We strongly recommended this hotel for those traveller who plan their trip to Tianjin and Beijing.

Good stay. I was worried when I received two confirmation emails after only booking one room one time. I arrived and the hotel had no record of my booking. After talking with agoda customer service for a few minutes, then waiting on hold for what seemed like an eternity (was probably 5-10 minutes) the customer service rep told me it was all straightened out. Went back to the front desk and was checked in no problem. Room was nice, and the staff was friendly as well as helpful. I have nothing to compare this hotel to in Tianjin, I checked in around 23:00 and checked out at 11:30, but it seemed like a good deal. I highly recommend the lunch buffet. I think it was 168 per person, but they had great Chinese food, western food, sushi, and a grill station where a chef would cook beef/lamb/pork to order.

This hotel is a gem, the decor is a bit dated, but what makes a good hotel, is not the views or the decor, but the staff. & here they really tried very hard, despite the English language not that visible or prominent , they were attentive, solved any minor issues & problems quickly & all with a smile. The Hotel was exceptionally clean & welcoming..& really close to several superb free entry museums, which was a real plus. The food was of a very high quality & moderately priced, which even surprised My Chinese Translator when he came & had lunch with me...I will definitely make this my home away from home when staying Tianjin

I booked the executive room in advance, so I chose to check in at the club lounge as soon as I arrived at the hotel. However, only interns went to work that day and were told that they could not check in at the club lounge. As a result, I had to carry my luggage down to the lobby to check in, which caused some inconvenience to me. I hope the hotel can strengthen the staff training in the future instead of trouble guests.
