Umbria hotels & accommodations

We stayed in one of the new family rooms and it was excellent. Plenty of space for us and the kids, they loved their separate upstairs space! Massive super king sized bed, and lovely air con which was much needed after 40 degree days! The pool was also excellent, a nice size plenty of sun beds and parasols etc. Hotel had plenty of parking and the breakfast is also very...

The Brufani Palace Hotel is Perugia's top hotel. The rooms are larger than average, very well appointed, with huge and very comfortable beds. Ours had stunning views over the surrounding countryside. The hotel includes a small but very well appointed swimming pool with jacuzzi in the basement, with glass bottom showing remnants of etruscan ruins, very good for relaxati...

Location is very good ! It's very close the station. Interior is very artistic and the every staff of this hotel is very kind! Breakfast was very good !! Very quiet and peaceful place. Room was very clean and tidy. Their amenity was good though. !! I'll stay here at the next time in Assisi !!

Roccafiore is a quite nice hotel, with a beautiful view and garden with a spa and swimming pool. Some rooms are a bit small and cramped, especially for two persons. The food in the restaurant is of good quality, and there is a very good breakfast. We missed a proper tea service in the afternoon ( tea and some cakes or small bites). A serious omission is a proper laund...

I had an amazing stay at Castello Di Monterone. The staff were friendly and helpful, you could tell that customer service was very important to them. The restaurant was excellent, and the sunset views across the valley to the city of Perugia were perfect. The hotel decor is also lovely with a nice combination of modern and medieval castle without being tacky. The facil...

We left for Roma to Assisi by train with lots of baggage. The host came to the station to pick us up. I was so appreciated. The room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. You can cook and wash clothes as well. My son tells me that this house was the best among the whole accommodations that we used in Italy. All the attractions in Assisi are within walking dist...

Everything is so quiet, elegant and private at the Marmotta. From the moment the pebbles crunch under your feet to the soft sunsets, you can be sure to be looked after with discreet attention. The yoga is not to be missed. Of particular note is also the excellent wine selection at the restaurant, where the only quibble is the chef’s liberal use of salt. A walk up to th...

Old building that was once glorious has seen better days. Nevertheless, although a bit shabby, room was clean and comfortable. Some noise from other rooms, but not enough to annoy. Poor quality breakfast , advise guests to eat out. Station cafe nearby was quite good. Hotel is close enough to town centre using escalators. Good value.

Owners/ managers are not at desk much of time and can be difficult to contact in early mornings ( checkout) or late evening check in or questions. Woman is extremely protective of outside grounds .. rules for entering / leaving on locking doors etc.. etc., but all for good reason.. just more uptight than I am accustomed to.

It’s clean, we paid 60€ and had a quick dip in pool. We would have stayed longer relaxing but there were loads of small insects ready to bite us! The rooms are old fashioned but very clean. It’s on a great location for a one night stop over! We didn’t eat in the restaurant as went out nearby to amazing pizza place. Easy and good value on your journey!

Just happens to see this hotel on he booking service and took a chance Turned out to be a great little find for us for 2 nights Very friendly staff, restaurant was great service, great food value, would definitely include this on a trip again when staying in the Orvieto area

Wonderful people, wonderful location and just a pleasure to stay there. The fact that they had a laundry you could use was a huge plus as well, not to mention the pool, the bar and the views over Umbria. The reasonably priced bar and fridge were excellent additions as well. Can't recommend these people enough.

The hotel is located on a Main Street, a convenient location 5-min walk from the tram station. Staff members were polite and friendly. The room was clean, with a window for the good scenery outdoors. Wireless network was not stable, quite fast during daytime but slow or even inaccessible at night. Free breakfast was included, starting from 7:30, choice of food was enou...

We booked the hotel-site unseen- on the Internet after we read the commentary. Arriving in Orvieto my GPS passed on the location, but with the help of friendly ppl we finally found the place. We were warmly welcomed, showed to our room overlooking the lower township and told just come and ask if you need something. Our biggestsurprise was 'Mum's Brekkie' the next morni...

We just returned from a 16 day trip to Italy, and I have to say, Locanda Rosati was definitely one of the highlights! What a lovely place.... beautiful grounds in a tranquil setting, spacious and clean rooms. Close proximity to the charming hilltop town of Orvieto. The evening meal at the communal table was the best food we had during our entire trip. Giampiero is the...

The location is prefect! It takes less than 5 mins to get to the hotel! It's right opposite the train station! It's not noisy at all. It's a quiet place! The host is extremely nice and helpful! The hotel is clean and comfortable . All the paintings and decorations are wonderful! Once you get into the hotel, it gives you a "home" feeling!! I highly recommend this...

Although the entrance is not fit for SUV-drivers (but who does anyway?) the end of the dead end street is a gem. Personal attention by the couple that runs the hotel and always a smile. The breakfast may need some variations, but this is an intimate place for its few guests. Thanks.

the hotel is at best a 3 star. however, there is no on-site parking. there is a city parking lot about a 10 minute walk that allows 24 hr parking most days. the exception is on tuesday. tuesday is the city market day so parking there monday night is not allowed. there is another city parking lot on the edge of the city, but lugging suitcases all that way isn't ple...

This hotel is in a very central location, everything is within easy reach. There are numerous restaurants, shops etc within a stone's throw. Stephano, the owner, is a very calm, warm and friendly host reflecting the general atmosphere of the hotel. They also own a restaurant that does a very good three course 'tourist' meal for 18 euros which includes a glass of wine!...
Cheap places to stay in Umbria

It was an impressive stay for me. Jenny is a very helpful and friendly host. She let me to checked in earlier and recommended the route to hang around. Also, she prepared very nice breakfast for us... The location is also excellent as it was around 5 min walk from the train station.

This very small hotel - 7 rooms - is near the Piazza Commune in Assisi, with lots of restaurants, shops and cafes nearby, and local bus transportation if you prefer not walking. The owner/operator is very accomodating and have a wonderful attitiude of service. Highly recommended for those wanting a basic great place to stay on a budget.

Thanks for all ur kindness while i had stayed there zio ! Im writing this review as soon as i just got back to my country safely bc my trip got much easier and memorable thanks to you :-) If i get a chance to visit there Assisi with my parents again, i would never hesitate to stay here again ! 👍 Grazie !

The place is very near the train and bus stations so access is very convenient. We found everything in order and very clean. The big church nearby is a must see. Our host also allowed us to stay until 2 pm because our train was scheduled to leave at 2:30. Very kind of her.

It seemed to go OK.I paid for my room with a USA credit card, which went through OK,got my receipt etc. However my friend in the USA housesitting for me[looking after 5 cats] received several abusive phone calls from the hotel as to why I had not paid my bill.On my return to the USA I contacted the credit card company....the bill HAD been paid.I am not sure what the prob...

Tucked away in a tiny cobbled back lane, this hotel is certainly central inside the old city of Assisi. No lift so be prepared to carry luggage up quiet a few stairs. We were in the top room and had a bit of a climb. Room was big but the bathroom tiny. Sad to say the beds were not great. We were two couples and had one double and two singles. The springs very no...

This is a great location, with a short drive into the town of Orvieto. Found the room to be spacious & clean including the bathroom, the view from the room was great. Beds not great a bit hard. But liked the fact we had a mini fridge, helped our selves to water and juice and was not charged extra, nice touch. The breakfast was average. Never had a chance to use the...

Paolo (couldn't speak English) and his wife Lucy (some English) picked me up the train station. The BnB is near St Mary of the Angels which is good. However, there is no elevator and about 10 steps up to the room (lucky I left my big luggage in previous BnB) and had only backpack. The shower cubicle is pretty tight and foresee difficulty for a slightly fat person to g...

For the price of this hotel, it exceeds my expectation. Nice little hotel that is just opposite the extrance/exit of the train station, the bus stop to take the bus up to Assisi is nearby. The room is clean. Breakfast is simple but very tasty. The owner is a nice and friendly.

The lovely family who own and run this property were attentive and helpful. !! Breakfast was always fresh and in abundance, especially Mr Francisco's home made cakes...my teenage daughter simply could not resist, and the cappuccinos and espresso were the best !!! Just as advised, I was able to park my car at the local station ( 3 mins drive) buy the bus tickets into ...

The home is just lovely, interesting and full of charm. The breakfast was far beyond our expectations. We totally enjoyed staying here and hopefully will get the opportunity to return to beautiful Orvieto with all its charm. Being in this B&B just added to the whole experience. Having coffee and tea facilities available was very appreciated. The outlook from the lo...

If you are lucky enough to get a room with a view of the lake you wont ever want to leave! The location is right in the centre of a great neighbourhood, the rooms are tastefully decorated, and the price was quite reasonable. Plus, the breakfast buffet is quite big by italian standards and has alot of fresh fruit All in all, great value for the price

Visited at Christmas 2017 for 3 nights. Very well located in Assisi. We were able to walk to everything. Delightful hosts - helpful and gracious. We had a 1 BR room with a pull out sofa for our 20 yr old and a small kitchen. Our older daughters stayed in a room above ours. Pretty views. The breakfasts were classic Italian and our morning coffees were ready minut...

We had a wonderful overnight stay. Our booking had not yet been received by the hotel at the time of our arrival but it was no problem. Our room was fantastic, clean, comfortable and quiet. Beautiful swimming pool and surroundings with view of Assisi town up on the hill. The place is normally surrounded in Sunflowers but we arrived in the off season (or they might have been harvested?). Nice modern rooms with heaps of room and free wireless internet access which is always a bonus. You will need a car (plenty of parking space and free of charge). Wide vari...

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were very very helpful. Our only issue which was a slight inconvenience was the shower head wasn't attached to the wall and hence you had to hold it and try to shower yourself at the same time. Nevertheless the hotel was a fantastic location and great, friend staff and our room was clean and lovely. Would go there aga...

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Easy access by car located literally 2 min walk to the first of the Spoleto attractions. The hotel outlook from the dining area is fantastic with facilities meeting traveller needs. Parking was on the premises and the staff were very accommodating. The dining room has a great selection of choices for both breakfast and evenin...

I selected this property by scouting on the internet . It turned out to be as good as it looked ..and to be honest " above expectations " . Location - bit away from city centre, but great for quiet rest. Staff - friendly, professional, attentive Room - spacious, good view of mountain Bathroom - spacious, clean Breakfast - standard acceptable spread wifi - good in room and lobby, but not patio

We stayed for 2 nights. The beginning was terrible. We thought we will find the hotel by just arriving in Assisi and ask there. The hotel is 20 min. drive for assisi, and was impossible to find at night, inside the woods... After 2 hours we gave up and called the owners, who was kind enough to come and pick us up from a resturant in the area. The next day we woke up t...

We asked for a quiet room and got one....right above the restaurant that hosted a party the night before we left for a 9-hour road trip! But the worst part of it was the receptionist constantly interrupting me when I complained about it... What were his interruptions about? He said I wasn't listening-seems difficult when you struggle to finish your phrases.

A real home away from home! what a wonderful and relaxing vacation we had here, we even cancelled two nights at another hotel and came back to Torre Palombara. The attention to details, the view, the sunstes, the freindly staff, everything! And on top of that, Leonardo's recommendations and tips for day trips & restaurants were all excellent

Given we had a suite, the rooms were basic (Spartan) in their furnishing with a very small bathroom. There was no iron in the room (as per most Eu hotels) and when ordered there was no board available which made the exercise difficult. Dinner was highly anticipated but disappointing (the truffle in the truffle risotto was either old or dried and was tasteless. The rest...
