Vermont State hotels & accommodations

We arrived at the Best Western in Waterbury Oct '19 to find no restaurant, no bar. The staff told us when we booked in that there WAS a restaurant but no bar, but it then we discovered that the restaurant was for breakfast only and they omitted to tell us this. Maybe I'm being picky here but a restaurant that only serves breakfast is not a restaurant. Having said all...

Arrived back at the hotel about 2:30 after a morning and early afternoon outing down to the lake and found the room still hadn't been cleaned. I called 'Customer Services' on the phone and there was no answer so I went to the front desk and asked when they expected the room to be cleaned. I was told they would send someone right up (and tried to explain the they were...

This Best Western is in a really convenient location for its price, especially if you have a car. It is minutes away from downtown, and very easy to get on the highway to explore the rest of Vermont. The free breakfast is also convenient, but not particularly good. Rooms are pretty clean, parking is easy, and the Windjammer is a nice bar/restaurant.

We did have a wonderful time visiting all the stores we wanted to visit. The breakfast at the hotel was nice, but the eggs! We actually did not eat them cause the last time my wife got acid indigestion and she thought it was contributed from the eggs. But everything else was nice.

When I booked my room at Quality Inn Shelburne - Burlington, i was expecting a mediocre room with not much in the way of comfort or amenities, but because i didn't expect to spend much time in the room, I didn't care. I was very surprised when we walked into the room to see two very comfortable beds, very clean and crisp linens, an abundance of towels and a small refr...

Stayed here two nights around Memorial Day. Arrived an hour before 4:00 check-in (which ought to be earlier), but the clerk offered us another room so we wouldn't have to wait, which we appreciated. Room was nothing fancy, smaller than expected, by no means pristine, but it was OK. Location was a stone's throw from the highway & an easy drive to Burlington. It's just a...

Friendly staff, very clean, comfortable beds/rooms, well-maintained, nicely-appointed. Facilities are not the most modern, but nice & cozy, spacious and tastefully done in an older, traditional style. Comfortable lobby/sitting area & fireplace. Pool is a little small, but warm and well-maintained. Extra classy touches include double sheeting, quality pillows, pillo...

This hotel is fair for its price--right next to Saint Mikes, I-89, and less than 5 minutes to the airport. Suites are 2 floors which was sweet and the staff is very nice and seemed to know the area well! The hotel only has 4 floors. The parking is tight during busy seasons. There is a pool and breakfast is pretty basic.

Overall, this property was a nice place to stay while in Vermont. The staff were extraordinary and they made the visit all the better. The only con would be the location. We were thinking it would be more of views but instead our room looked out into the parking lot and highway. Not super easy to get to places, but not a far drive at all. Overall, if you want a qui...

Great location, with choice of restaurants, shops and Quechee Gorge a stroll away. The breakfast was very impressive, and the lobby area beautiful. We found the rooms updated but not completely.. carpet smelled moldy, and bathroom was small. Huge plus to have the mini fridge and microwave. Overall we were satisfied staying here.

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel because it was conveniently located close to the airport and she had an early flight to catch in the morning. The young lady working at the front desk was very nice and informed us about the 24 hour shuttle service they provide to the airport. She scheduled a 4:15 pick up which I was very thankful for as I didn't need to get up to...

This is a nice older hotel. Definitely last remodeled in the 80s so the decor is a bit dated. The room we were in was very spacious, but also almost everything about it could have used updating. I ended up needing to turn off the heat unit in the room because it was so loud and would kick on and off and wake us up. Having the heat off (it wasn't a very cold night)...

The staff were amazing...so caring and attentive. They even called the room about 10 minutes after I checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory. There is a little convenience store/gas station near by where you can purchase all sorts of refreshments. There is also an Applebee's in the same parking lot that does offer delivery to the hotel. Everyone was so ...

Visited for 4 days to mountain bike at Kingdom Trails. Nice large room with king bed. Well kept grounds. Entire property is smoke-free, big plus. Daily fresh baked variety of cookies put out around 5 pm, coffee always available. Suggested improvements would be room safes; at breakfast have bins which separate recyclables such as paper plates/napkins, coffee cup...

Quaint room in the "Chalet" (Really? Has the person who named this been to the Alps? I have, and this ain't no "Chalet" - Suitable Cottage, maybe, but not "Chalet") had a brass "No Smoking" plaque on door. Good. Except for that fact that it reeked of Marijuana. Took us all night with windows cracked, to get rid of the THC reek. Then (not the hotel's issue, but t...

Hotel was clean staff was very friendly . I don’t know about breakfast because we did not eat. However I thought it was Costly for such an older hotel and the condition of it even though it was clean. I know you can pretty much charge what you want because of the lack of hotels in the area but 100 and something a night for that hotel is high

We legit got in late, just needed a place to stay & eat breakfast before we headed out the next morning. At the price we paid (under $100, including tax), it was perfectly fine! It definitely beats some nearby hotels who charge $150/night! And....they are NOT on the bed bug report!!! Thumbs up all around!

We knew we were staying in a 2 star hotel but I never expected it to be this bad-- stained bedding and floors, and ants everywhere-- in the middle of winter. They must have been living in the walls and were all over our room when we woke up in the AM. The staff did nothing to help when we reported this. Never again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is comfortable and the pool etc a welcome bonus. Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was basic but fine. Location is ok but not ideal if you want to walk to have a meal. A car is necessary. Overall a great stop over hotel.

This is the second time we stayed here because it’s cheap and we just need a 1 night stay visiting my daughter at college. Last time it was August and 95 degrees. The pool was hotter than a hot tub. Not useable to be refreshed. This time it was 30 degrees and the “heated” pool was cold. The air in the pool area was COLD. not usable. Nobody was in it. The Room is...

Beginning with the front desk throughout our stay, the staff and the facility was perfect. The room was spacious and perfectly decorated. The cleanliness was spectacular. My husband and I will definitely recommend this motel. We will be back as we love this area of Vermont.
Cheap places to stay in Vermont State

Nice and cozy place for your money. It's located around many fast food, gas stations and supermarkets. The continental breakfast could have been better but we found great places to eat in the area (less than 5 minutes away). The staff were helpful and friendly. Recommended to anyone who is willing to visit Vermont and other close states.

There was hair in the shower (lots of hair). The bathroom was tiny. The room hadn't been dusted in a long time, even though we went during their high season and the place was full. Plus one of the beds in the room wasn't even well made: the blanket was dragging on the floor. The staff was friendly though and it is centrally located.

The place was small, threadbare and unimpressive. But then again, the price was cheap. The most annoying part was arriving and having to argue with the proprietor that I had already paid for the room through Agoda. He insisted that I pay again, I had to argue until he finally acquiesced.

Rutland is a large city for Vermont located centrally in the state. Staying there gave us great access to many of the surrounding small towns in the area. The hotel was just recovering from a fire when we stayed- there were still small issues that they were working to sort out but none that affected our stay in a significant way.

We did have a wonderful time visiting all the stores we wanted to visit. The breakfast at the hotel was nice, but the eggs! We actually did not eat them cause the last time my wife got acid indigestion and she thought it was contributed from the eggs. But everything else was nice.

The location was great - easy to get to the various points of interest and the owner was extremely helpful in suggesting places to see and giving directions, along with a little folklore and history. The place was clean and warm! Important on the first cold weekend this season.

This is a fascinating experience for us and maybe everyone who has not stayed in the completely out-of-the world place. To be honest we we were a bit scared arriving at night and had difficulty finding it. It is actually hidden behind some trees and some meters away from the unpaved road. But once u r there, nothing is more serene than it! The room is not big but b...

I have no problem staying at an antiquated house with slanted old floors. But it's another when the entrance is not spicy and span and the plumbing in my shower does not work well. The faucet if the tub does not turn into shower mode all the way. So part of the water is flowing below and part of it from the shower head. The worse part is the tub is not draining as ...

I should first of all congratulate Agoda - reason to follow. We booked this hotel through Agoda (thank goodness) only because it appeared to be the only vacancy in the area on a Saturday night. The room was awful in every way. Breakfast was non-existent; not even room for guests to sit. Reception and management poor. No redeeming features - travelled a lot and this was...

A must do if you are a fan of The Sound of Music..! Beautiful location, excellent facilities and a large range of things to do/see. It was a pity we didn’t come prepared with proper winter hiking boots and were staying longer, as we would have loved to enjoy some of the hiking trails on this 2500 acre property. My only small negative was I thought that although it’s ...
