Our room was gorgeous, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel is luxurious with a beautiful pool. Breakfast a little disappointing, however certain most people could find something. Our dilemma was checking out. Upon checkout we was asked to wait until room was checked, no problem. When checked apparently a small laundry bag was missing, therefore we were asked did we have it. We stated no and further added we only slept in bed and used the bathroom during the one night stay and hadn’t even used the complimentary water. One particular reception staff member insisted it was missing and then went to arrange for one to be brought down to the lobby to remind us what it looked like. We of course said this is ridiculous we do not have it. We was told we needed to wait to make sure we didn’t take it. The lobby was packed, it was embarrassing and humiliating. I even pulled my backpack apart to demonstrate I did not have it. The receptionist staff member was argumentative and insisted it was all necessary to ensure we had not removed it from the room. We kept trying to add it was obviously not in there to start with. In the end another staff member intervened apologetic and told us not to worry it was only a laundry bag and agreed it may not have been in room and to go. We was so disappointed and upset, we decided to use the hotels enquiry online form to complain. So we got a timely response from the manager of front office who spent a number of lines apologising......then it fell apart. Obviously a cut and paste, no mention of our issue. So beware and insist on checking your room with staff. This was only a laundry bag that was the size of a large pencil case! Imagine if it was a beer from the minibar.

Wow! The resort is a holiday in itself; with stunning views from every room, spacious balconies, clean and tastefully designed. Keeping traditional with the decor I think is a lovely touch as everything was beautifully put together and mostly hand made in northern laos which made it feel much more authentic (as opposed to the standard 5* hotels with every room exactly the same becoming very monotonous). They really have more than exceeded my expectations (which were already very high having stayed at the sister hotel in Vientiane). The staff knew us by name immediately and had a incredibly high standard of english and were very welcoming it was as though we were treated like part of their family. Nothing was too much for them to help with. It was very apparent that they all wanted to be there and took pride in the hotel. The location is fantastic as it is far enough away from the bars to ensure peace and quiet of an evening but it is also close enough to walk to any restaurants etc. This is highly recommended from us - if you weren't considering Vang Vieng; you should be now - it is more than worth the trip.

Generally very good stay and definitely good value for money. Our deluxe double too had a fantastic view and was a good size, the balcony is very nice. Breakfast was good though sometimes large tour groups did make an incredible mess. We booked a tour kayaking and our onward travel throug th holt, these wer great and competitively priced. The hotel was very clean and the toiletries world class. Things to improve: Non existent at worst, very slow at best service at the poolside bar Laundry price was very high, we went round the corner and paid 1/5 of the price, though the service is apparently very quick and might be worth the extra cash if you are in a hurry. To summarise we stayed at this hotel for a few days of chilling out after multiple bus and sight seeing journeys and to break up the trip from Phonsovan to Vientiane. It was perfect for this and the agora deals make the price very competitive.

The hotel was easy to find and located in the middle of the main street. The staffs were very kind and hospitable. They helped us book activities and bus to Vientiane at reasonable price. The room wasn't very spacious but good enough for three people. Although it was a bit noisy at night because of the bar near the hotel, other than that it was comfy and nice. I'd definitely stay here again.

I made a huge mistake on this booking. Glad they assist me to solve the problem I faced. To let us had a chance to stay in this hotel and amazed by their service. I love the outlook of this building. Each room have a balcony for river view. The room design is modern and clean! It’s our 3rd time to Vang Vieng from Vientiane for family trip. And we decide to stay in this place for next trip to here! Great location for night market and boat ride. The Main Street is walking distance too.

River View Bungalows is located on the little island in the middle of Song river (behind Saysong Guesthouse but face directly with Song river & mountains). My sisters and I stayed in the Mountain River View room (Triple single bed), we can see the Song river and beautiful mountains from the windows. The room is very clean, not too small for three persons and well equipped with standard facilities. The staff & owner are also warm & friendly, they all can speak well English, Thai, and Lao. WIFI service is available at the restaurant and lobby area. (However, it would be better if the WIFI is avaiable from guestroom.) The breakfast is also very delicious and big enough to make you're full until dinner time!! We love it!! There is a Convienience Store in front of the guesthouse where you can buy the personnel care products, snack, beverage etc. Money exchange & Bus ticket to Vientiane & other cities is also available there with reasonable price. There are a lot of local & international restaurant around there. The outdoor activities such as Tubing, Canoeing, Kayking, Cruising, Bicycling etc. are also avaiable. The bungalow is very easy to find & close to everything. It seems that everyone there know this bungalow & Saysong Guesthouse (This bungalows is at the same place of Saysong GH (close to Tubing station). We think the bungalows is suitable for everyone who would like to have a rest or escape from the busy city. ชอบเฮือนพักหลายๆ .. จะกลับไปเยือนอีกแน่ๆ เด้อ!!

We absolutely loved this hotel. We staying on one of the villas - sited on stilts, floating above an emerald green rice field with unobstructed views to the countryside and stunning Karst peaks beyond. I never wanted to leave. Even though we stayed at 5 star hotels before & after Vieng Tara Villa remains the best, and the most special place we stayed on our whole trip. Can not recommend enough. If you get the chance, stay here.

Pros: quiet oasis in really cool colonial feeling two story building that was once a private house. Very high ceilings with fans, A/C, tiled and granite floors, art and antique decorations, potted plants, koi ponds, rattan furnished breakfast terrace. Just lovely. We had second floor room over garden with very large furnished balcony. Good hot breakfast to order. Homemade jams and yogurt. Good coffee. Vientiane streets are busy and dusty so this is a charming haven. Close to shops, cafes, restaurants and temples. Cons: water pressure is sometimes weak.

We booked for this hotel only for 2 days at first but extended 2 more nights. The staffs were very warm and kind they treated us like a famliy. The room condition was a way better than we expected. Just great location and condition compared to this price. I would stay here again if i visit Vang Vieng again. 방비엥에서 3명이 같이 묵기에 최적의 호텔이라고 생각됩니다. 가성비 최고, 직원들도 매우 친절하고 방 컨디션도 굿! 방비엥 다시 방문한다면 또 여기서 묵을거 같네요.

Good value hotel, with most of the rooms having a nice view of the river/mountains. The hotel is near the bridge to cross to the other side, and around 3-5 minutes walk to the center where most restaurants are. For the price of the hotel, breakfast is okay, not plated but a small buffet that is filling enough. Bed is comfortable with mosquito net, and toilet is passable. They can also arrange transport back to Vientiane as well. Only minus is they were out of bottled water for our room. All in all, for the price, would not mind staying again.

I am gonna start by saying I never write reviews. We honestly booked this place by mistake, since we meant to book the one with the same name but in the middle of town. Once we got here we fell in love with the place! We are seasoned travellers and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed at with hands down the nicest, most laid back staff we have encountered in SE Asia. Owner/manager is there for you without being overbearing or always trying to sell you stuff, in fact he offers the BEST PRICE for motorbikes and bus tickets we could find in town. There was an instance I got into a bike accident and someone from the hotel picked me up and brought me home, AMAZING! Please do not be like us and listen to the poor reviews. This place is incredible value for money, as the rooms are HUGE and 100% clean. The bathroom is spotless and comes with rainforest shower. To top all that off the VIEWS of fields and mountains are amazing. Every guest room gets their own table and chair so they may sit outside and enjoy the place fully. We saw almost everyone enjoying this perk! The pool is CLEAN, this is SE Asia and we are in the middle of nature, there are leafs and sometimes small bugs, however the staff cleans it daily! The people who run the hostel can be found enjoying the facilities with their families after a long day of work, and they are very friendly and will interact with you if you so desire. I am currently writing this from my chair and table outside while sipping on a very cold BeerLao, I ended up doubling my stay just for this place!

My wife and I stayed for just one afternoon and night at the Elephant Crossing Hotel as a break in our journey from Vientiane to Luang Prabang. Our room was lovely with a balcony view across the river to the cliffs that Vang Vieng is famous for. We had dinner and the buffet breakfast at the hotel's riverside restaurant. The food was very good at both meals. If we ever come back to Vang Vieng for a longer stay we'll certainly choose to stay at the Elephant Crossing Hotel.

The hotel is clearly the most impressive in Vang Vieng (from a limited selection)... but it really has fallen into disrepair. A big positive for them was that when we checked in they realised our air con wasn't working and moved us to another room without us having to say anything. However I wasn't impressed by the front of house staff who were fairly pushy and tried to massively over charge us for a car service from VV to Vientiane... by 50% over what we eventually paid going through someone else! There were other minor aspects that were a bit off - menus just had huge chunks whited out... why not just print another one?

Great location right next to the river with views of the beautiful mountains. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Able to book tours etc with hotel pick ups. Breakfast was average - buffet catering with more of an Asian palate which is fair enough given the numbers of Asian tourists in the area. Close enough to walk to town. Room big, light, clean and well-maintained. Good, comfy beds.

My favourite hotel I stayed at in Laos. We booked at first for two nights and knew we would extend our stay once we saw the hotel. First note that this is not in the city, it’s about a 20 minute drive, we got the bus from Vientiane to drop us off on the way or the hotel offers shuttles from Vang Vieng. This is a place to go and just relax and unwind. The staff is super helpful and accommodating but not pushy with anything. There are activities you can book, boats to rent, and bikes to borrow or you can do what we did, just relax and enjoy the beautiful room and view. The hotel and well maintained and clean and comfortable. If you get chance book this hotel, I was so impressed and want to go back.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The location on the river with the view was wonderful. There was some renovations taking place - I think they are moving the pool. So whilst there were people working on this during the day it did not affect our stay and the improvements will make the hotel even better. We did have an issue with one of the toilets but this was sorted immediately when we informed the staff. My only complaint would be the state of the wooden decking around the pool but this will be fixed by the new pool which is being created.

Check in real late , receptionist could not find our booking no. which we have to wait for near 10min in front of counter, lastly they gave us a room first. System need upgrade or what? We were served by a really pretty English fluener which is really helpful, can't find this elsewhere throughout my entire Laos journey,thumb up! The moment that we enter the room, the design gave us a wow, but soon we find out there is no door for the bathroom? gosh that was really awkward actually as we need to pass motion or what and my friend have to hear all that noise, hope the management could look into it, was having a chance to glimsp the 2 bosses at cafe but they were gone after that, didn't manage to catch up with them, everything of this hotel was nice, day and night shift receptionist was nice, the night one can speak simple Mandarin too,such great guy,we only stayed for about 6 hours due to early morning flight, we'll come back again and hope to catch up with all of the friendly staff there, hood job

My stay was awesome. All staff are so friendly and accommodating. The receptionist speaks good English and is very nice, whatever your inquiry and request is he makes sure to attend to it. The view from the room's veranda is just breath taking, I can't get enough of it. It is also accessible to majority of the places - walking distance to almost any place in VV. This is a must try hotel, everything is awesome and the price is very cheap/affordable. Their laundry service is also cheap. The tours though and bus service, you might want to canvass from other service providers first to get the best price because as we know, hotels charge a bit higher. They are ok though if you don't book with them. Overall, it was terrific!

This hotel a well run business. The staff is extremely attentive and professional. The facilities are extremely clean! We read reviews before coming here and someone dinged them on their breakfast. We personally loved it compared to some of the other food options around Vang Vieng. You get eggs cooked to your liking along with fresh bread, butter, jam and a great fruit selection (coffee and tea are also included). Rooms are bright and cheery. Each floor has a community balcony with a table. Great for bringing food or drinks back and hanging out. Wifi worked well. Location was great. Within walking distance to food options, river activities, coffee shops, etc. They also book tours and helped us arrange transportation from Vang Vieng to Vientiane. Would easily stay here again!

This is a great place to stay. Laos is a lot quieter then other Asian cities and Vang Vieng is most interesting place in visit in Laos. The Bungalows are very basic but clean. The Bungalows is best for a booking of 3 people. I had the whole cabin to myself. I recommend this Bungalow accommodation if you're wanting a creative getaway or a chill chill environment with a bunch of friends. The staff are great and the cafe has amazing coffee.

We had a bed journey from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, We’ve stayed the hotel. It is good-looking; great view, quite, lovely garden, Clean room, comfortable bed. I have had best shower. Good food and very good selection of wines. The hotel would be pleasant if they have a spa. Staffs are helpful; Hotel manager Mr. Hussein is very well. I’ll come back to the hidden paradise

Though I stayed in various cities and accomodations, Grandview was the best among all of them. It was very clean and the staffes were kind and nice. Bird cage in the lobby was entertaining as well. Some disadvantages would be night noise around the hotel by several party houses, and the wifi which could not be used within the room. Despite its location right nearby the river, there weren't any bugs in the room. If you are one of the bug haters like me, this would be the best choice.

We stayed for 3 nights in this guesthouse and were upgraded for free to a bigger hut. Owner and his family/staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in 2 different rooms and both were very clean and with comfortable beds. Bathroom was good with a good shower with hot water available. We also booked our bus tickets to Vientiane from here as we found they had cheaper prices than the others around. Definitely would recommend this place!

we really enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend staying there. michael the owner is very helpful he took time to give us tips on the scams when tubing and recommend activities to do etc. we did the caving,tubing and kayaking day trip which michael recommended and had an amazing time wanted to do it again! both michael and his wife are very accommodating, we were very tired from our previous travels and always almost missed breakfast time but michael did brunch for us which we really appreciated as we could have a lie in. definitely have to try his cheese omelettes and pancakes! the food in the hotel restaurant is amazing. highly recommend people to try it good thai food. we ended up extending our stay for 2 more days. they also arranged our transport to vientiane in their private mini van which was heading to vientiane after not to have dropping of supplies to the hotel and that was very thoughtful of micheal. it was nice to have the mini van to ourselves instead of being crammed into one with lots of people.

If only I could stay here at Nana forever lol. Had to leave for vientiane but decided to just come back here instead and stay for few nights more. seriously had a lot of fun here every single day. my friends and I really enjoyed the service of the staff and their friendliness. We even got to hang out and party with some of the staff outside so it was cool! very chill in the day and nice to swim on the pool. free alcohol at night woot. party party. food in their restaurant is quite good. facilities clean and dorms basic but fair for the price. i can say this is the best hostel in laos. love nana
