Where to stay in Yamaguchi Prefecture
Yamaguchi Prefecture hotels & accommodations
Room was not spacy as other hotels are in Japan, but all the facilities even in detail are all high grade ones that I expirienced at five star hotels. Breakfast buffet was also great. Super clean. I'll stay this hotel when I visit this area next time without any hesitation. No doubt.
We stayed in this hotel in this double room for three days. First, it is good because it is located 5 minutes walk from Simonoseki station. Second, hotel employees are very kind and can speak a little English and Korean. Third, hotel facilities are clean because it is not long since they were remodeled, and you can use washing machine, ice machine, microwave oven,...
This onsen hotel is famous in Japan. No European tourists were noticed at the hotel. It is a very good professional hotel with fantastic food - probably the best Japanese banquet we have ever eaten. The rest of the experience is really about the onsen, which is also very good.
Stayed here for a night. Hotel room is considered spacious for Japan hotel room which can be quite small. Is close to Shin-Yamaguchi station, 20 min drive. Easy check in and near by has a great dry ramen store.
Great location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Too bad they don't have triple sharing room for our stay so we had to choose a more expensive option which was to book 2 double rooms for 3pax.
I love Uzu House! The location is great. It is near the Kanmon tunnel and just a few meters from Akama shrine, Karato market, wharf, and ferry station. It's roofdeck also has the best view of the strait and the bridge at night. The staff are super friendly. I had a great stay at Uzu house. Thanks Yui-chan and Tomo-chan.
I was here for a short trip of around 3-4 days in the Yamaguchi Prefecture. I was just looking for a place to stay but I did not expect the perfect service and so many wonderful amenities. The rooftop onsen was so good. The night view was amazing and during the night it was really private. Also, very amazed with the basement onsen. I always wanted to watch TV while hav...
We love Onsens and this was a true delight from beginning to end. We arrived early on the train. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Yudaonsen Station. Very easy to get to. We were met as we arrived with smiling faces of ladies in Kimono. The front desk staff was very accommodating and allowed us to leave our baggage for a small fee before check in so we could...
Our room had a private lounge area, overlooking a huge Japanese garden and a wonderful mountain view. The onsen was great and staff were very helpful.
Stayed for two weeks. The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly! They always made us feel welcomed and were incredibly polite. I felt right at home and recommend for anyone and everyone stay at Hotel Trend Iwakuni! Free coffee/water/green tea in the lobby, inexpensive snacks and beverages right down stairs, and only a five minute walk to the Iwakuni JR train station ...
The rooms are small but they are a business hotel so that’s understandable. Very comfortable and cosy and the staff did their best to accommodate us with our minimal japanese and their minimal english. Very friendly staff.
It's a little out of the way for most tourists as it took 2 hours on the Shinkasen from Shin-Osaka to Shin-Yamaguchi, then a 90 minute bus ride to Hagi bus centre. If it's old Japan that you want to experience then this is for you. This place is very traditional Japanese. We chose the traditional Japanese room with ocean views, it was magic. It is a little bit out of t...
I have two complaints and they are minor. One, the TV remote was intermittent at best but as there were no English language channels available it was a small matter. However, I was very disappointed that the front desk would not provide me with a receipt for my stay. I am not a frequent traveler so I do not rate a corporate credit card and have to use my own and to fi...
near the fish market and many good restaurants
This hotel has a great bath with wonderful harbor and costal views. It is so relaxing and comfortable to soak in the hot spring. The staffs are considerate and attentive. Both their breakfast and dinner are delicious. Even it is slightly far away from Hagi downtown, they provide shuttle services to/from Higashi-Hagi Station, and there is a daily bus to/from Shinkanse...
It’s a 15mins walk away from Yamaguchi station, quite a distance away and not very convenient. Not many shops nearby too and roads are almost pitch dark when night comes. Can be a little scary. Hotel is very old and run-down as well. The lifts were perpetually filled with cigarette stench and the walls of the room are so thin i could hear every word the guest staying b...
Hagi is an interesting historical city and this hotel is a very nice (luxurious) ryokan. Overnighting here means sleeping on the floor Japanese style. Always ask for 2-3 futons to give enough softness! :) Getting around Hagi by the local tourist bus is easy and inexpensive using a day pass with a full schedule from early morning until 6 PM. Finding reasonable restaura...
It was a very nice hotel, in a very good position relative to shopping districts, and Ube Shinkawa station for the Ube line. Facilities were very nice, as well as the amenities. Staff were very well trained...all in all, a very nice place to stay, definitely recommended.
My stay at this hotel was a pleasant one... The staff were very helpful and informative. It offers free breakfast with simple croissants and drinks...I hope the hotel can add a couple of more items in future... Will stay in this hotel again in my next trip!
This Toyoko Inn in Shin-Yamaguchi-eki is right off the RR within 5 minutes walk. The staff as usual is very helpful and friendly. Although we had a "do not Disturb" the days we were there (five days) the hospitality ladies always left the towels and water in a bag for us. Boy, were they friendly and all smiles the whole time there.
My older daughter and I, traveling to Iwakuni to visit my son, stayed at the Kappo Ryokan. Having never stayed in a Ryokan, I had no idea what to expect, and was very pleasantly surprised by the accommodations and the owners. This place is much like a bed and breakfast (and dinner), run by a husband and wife team. Though we had to rely on google translate (I speak n...
This hotel is basic and provide all the necessity for a business traveller.
Management was very helpful when a problem occurred with the closure of the bridge connecting Suo-Oshima with the mainland; the manager assisted us with ferry transportation, including payment. We were very impressed with how our situation was addressed and will stay at the resort if and when we do return to Suo-Oshima. The main purpose of going to the island was ...
Wonderful. We had never stayed at a Ryokan before so we had to learn about taking an onsen. Once we figured it out we relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves. The onsens were beautiful. It was the best part of our trip. And the nearness to the Kintai Bridge and Iwakuni Castle was great.
Great room and best Japanese breakfast I've had so far, plenty of Western choices like bacon etc.
Nice clean well run hotel, breakfast wasn't buffet but pretty filling.
To experience what a stay in a hotel would be like in the 60s or 70s this place is perfect.
A little walk from the train station and some slopes. The hotel is actually on top of a hill so the hotel staff came to pick us up from the bottom of the hill and when we arrived, the staff waited outside for us which was amazing. The facilities and hot springs are very nice and the breakfast was lovely!
breakfast ok, good location
The customer service is really lacking here at the main reception and in the onsen in particular where the staff are out and out rude. Made us walk back to the hotel to pick up our onsen ticket, we were clearly staying at the ryokan isn't the key enough?! Shame as the service in the room and the food was phenomenal. A true adventure in local Japanese cuisine and the d...
Cheap places to stay in Yamaguchi Prefecture
This place looks new, is very clean and home-like. Host Mio is very friendly and helpful, she even made us coffee for breakfast. Location is best possible in Hagi, between Castle town and restaurant area. Choose this and you will be very satisfied.

Location was 17 mins from JR Higashi Hagi. Easy to find from google maps. The owner was really friendly and there is also a supermarket nearby. It was a good location next to the beach and old town. Very quiet area.
Lots of common space to relax, read a book, cook a meal or have a drink. Little space to store luggage. The town itself is not a touristic highlight. Close by are some restaurants. I found it quite alright when I was travelling around in my bicycle.
My family and I recently stayed here and it was an incredible experience. The place was easily located using google maps and the check-in process was a breeze. Our bungalow was spotless and everything worked. It was also a good way for foreign tourist to ease into a Japanese bed. The view from the porch was amazing and the water was crystal clear. Parts of the beach w...

I was in Shimonoseki for a couple days to do some sightseeing. This hotel was located near the station and close to some dining facilities and the local mall. "Yume Tower" is an easy walk from the hotel as well. There are several things to see in Shinomoseki, but they are fairly spread out. Being close to the transportation center was a big help. Service was frien...

Although the check in time is a little late (4pm), but the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a very simple business hotel, but worth the stay.

Value for money!!!!! p.s: I must fill in something about the food but wee did not try that.

Yamaguchi have not too many hotel and I choose this hotel which is very close to JR station. which is clean, the staffs are nice, and the breakfast also not bad.
We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is located in a lively area. The room was small but contained everything we needed including a fridge, TV, table and somewhere to sit for all of us (in contrast to the British Travelodge chain which has one solitary chair). The Japanese spa was clean. Breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful with when we wanted to go and w...

Personalised service in particular Amy was excellent. Despite the language barrier, the staff made effort to explain the menu so that we know what we had been served. The best accommodation over the last 9 days of our travel in Japan.
