Where to stay in Zurich Canton
Zurich Canton hotels & accommodations

This older, updated hotel is walking distance to all of city center Zurich. A friend stayed in another close 3 star hotel that was not nearly as nice. The garden behind the hotel with a lovely old fountain helps drown out the busy city noise and provides a tranquil respite from the hurried city life. The biggest negative is the internet situation. One can use a cou...

If you are passing through Zurich and need a night stay.. This is the perfect hotel. Get out of airoort and cross over to the train station and hotel is right there. No need for shuttle bus transfer! If anything i wish there is a kettle for hot water. Using the coffee maker to boil water is not ideal but at least you get hot water albeit with slight coffee taste....

A bit far from the center, but access is totally easy. Tram is only a few steps away from the hotel, it gets you to the city in around 30 minutes (tram 10). Please note that you need to arrange your journey accordingly. Though ticket machine is available everywhere even in the tram stop outside the hotel, zoning in Zurich is pretty confusing. It can really cost you lot...

What a pleasant surprise. Reasonably priced by Zurich standards for a spacious room, again by Zurich standards and quiet too despite being positioned in the thick of it in a busy and viby restaurant and bar precinct of the old town. Close to central station and all the main sights of central Zurich. Recommended.

We stayed for a duration of 4 days and three nights. Many places in Zurich are quite pricey but this hotel managed to keep in our budget and was not a big sacrifice in distance to places or things because it was so close to a tram line which lead to anywhere. The staff were so friendly and helpful they spent half an hour explaining to us where to go and where not to go...

Desk clerk who checked us in had difficulty communicating. Room was not made up by 4 pm one afternoon. Shower mechanism was not user-friendly and wasn't explained. Price of breakfast buffet, $43/person, was high even by Swiss standards. Concierge, Dominik Schneider, was excellent--among the very best we've ever had.

The location of the hotel is good, quiet, away from the busy centre but only a short walking distance to public transport and main landmarks. The reception service is good. Althiugh check in is 2pm, they had a room available beforehand and let us check in. The rooms are a good size. Comfortable beds and could sleep well without noise from the street or other guests. Th...

I loved how they constantly sent email communications regarding my booking, any special request, and even after my check-out. It made me feel like they really value their guests. I also appreciated the little touches in the room, the amenities, and that they offered a bottle of water -- free of charge when I checked out. The location is great, which is right next to Ba...

Traveling for holiday with my wife and stayed in this hotel for the weekend. Though away from the main shopping district, it is accessible to the downtown by a 2 mins train ride and the Swiss SBB station is only less than 5 minutes' brisk walk away. There is also a direct train every 30 mins to Zurich Airport on train #16. Singapore Airlines crew also stays in this ...

The room is clean but somehow there is this smoky smell in the room that I dislike. The bed is comfortable and large enough. The room is bright as it has a large window. Need to note that there is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. That means there is no kettle to boil water as well. The tram stop (No. 4) at Technopark is behind the hotel and it's about 12 mi...

I arrived at the Zurich airport train station from Lucern around 9pm and took the shuttle service provided by NH Zurich hotel. Our flight arrived at 6:30am, it was cold and dark and we took the train from the airport. visiting one of the most expensive city during summer means a big trouble find an acommodation. four points surprisingly one of the most affordable hotel in zurich. given its reputation because it is under sheraton, we put a lot of expectation. we were surprised with a very spacious room and bed. its probably one of the best bed. the location might not be in the city c...

This is an excellent hotel for a between flights stop-over at Zurich. Free shuttle both ways every 10-15 minutes. Efficient and helpful staff in all areas. Best location ever right next to the river!!! Superb view n we r beyond speechless. Perfect for our honeymoon! The staffs were super top notch!! Friendly n helpful to our questions n needs!!! The room was so amazingly clean, NEW, aestheticly beautiful and the toilets too!!! So freaking perfect last stay in Zurich! Wished we stayed there longer!!! Will be back for sure!...

Atlantis Guesthouse was located near the train station, but it was not so near the main station. It was still convenient to go to the city center. It was clean, and good enough for our 4-day stay in Zurich. The beds were large, which is a plus. Service is good and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was average -- the usual continental buffet. I heard the hotels in Z...

Modern Hotel, just out of Zurich centre, this hotel is close to Tram to take you into city centre or the Main HB train station. Service was excellent, room spacious and clean. Only downside is the restaurant and breakfast is very expensive, as is Zurich!. Highly recommended.

We stayed only one night. When checking in, the hotel staff was very kind and friendly. They have a map and the staff was very knowledgeable when we asked locations and where to go in town. Although the hotel elevator is tiny, they have one. When we arrived at the shared bathroom room I reserved, I was surprised to see a sink available in the room, which was very c...

Seeing moderate reviews on Agoda and TripAdvisor, we did not have much expection from the stay. However, surprisingly the room was fairly large for two people, extremely clean, bed was comfy with comforters thick enough for the cold weather for each of us. The breakfast was also adequate with a variety of basics like cereals, bread, eggs and hams. Its location is centr...

Hotel is located about 10mins by tram from Zurich main station. It's a reasonable rate for a clean and comfy room in high living cost Swiss. And convenient to commute with trams. I love the coffee machine in room and provision of a kettle too. There's supermarkets close by and choices of restaurants. My daughter love the bathtub.

Stayed at the Ibis because I needed to be close to the airport for an early AM flight. Hotel met my expectations. Free shuttle, clean, comfortable, and free internet were all pluses. Room was small (would become cramped, especially for more than one person, after a few nights). Very basic amenities (e.g., only one towel). Perfectly acceptable and economical for a ...
Cheap places to stay in Zurich Canton

I stayed at the hostel for a week, the location was perfect for me as my office was just on the other side of the road. Also very close to the trainstation and the old town. Also the bar that i...

Easy access to public transport which is bus. The facilities are really good. The room and shared facilities are clean. The only concern is we couldnt find nearest groceries shop or restaurant. Probably we just stayed there just for a night and didnt manage to explore nearby

We enjoyed our 4 day stay in this romantic castle athmosphere, very clean and almost newly furnished, large room, good food and nice friendly owner couple ready to fulfil your wishes. Wonderful restaurant with pretty terrace and view and good service.

Other than the friendly staff and clean rooms, I would say that my stay has not been very memorable. It is a good 15 mins walk from the train station; the shower room door also cannot be locked, leaving you with just a shower screen against anyone opening the door suddenly; you will also need to bring your own soap/shampoo etc.

Esther has been very helpful even before we are due to stay at her house. She is very communicative and willing to go the extra miles to ensure our comfortable stay at her apartment. The apartment is impeccably clean. And whatever you may need, Esther might be able to help you. All the best for Esther!

Location chosen to allow visits to Rhein Falls and Konstanz, but not a town hotel. Countryside location but still easy to access. Large old house, full of character. Menu exciting, not cheap but great food, well attended and made so welcome, recommended.

I stayed there just for one night but I really had a nice time there. The hotel looked small from outside, and it may not be the 5 star hotel with gorgeous interior, but the room was clean with very nice smell, the bath tub was big with good amenities, and staffs were supportive. I could have a nice relaxing time. The hotel is located right in front of the tram station...

We stayed one night at this hotel with a six year old who slept in our bed. The location is very convenient, close to the train station, the shopping places and the restaurants. Room was very clean. This hotel is strategical located close to Zurich Airport. Nevertheless the room I stayed in was very quite, you do not hear the planes at all, which is important to me. I will stay here much more, when traveling though Zuric...

Beautifully designed interiors! However, 2 people in the room have trouble maneuvering around the bed. One person would be fine but 2 was a little hard for such a small room. The 2 women who were running the hotel were just wonderful! Very, very helpful with positive attitudes and patient with non German speaking guests. It is a little pricey considering the size o...

Clean room at the 5 minute train station to Zurich with smiling friendly staff. Coop is a next door. When I called the hotel reception that I have misplaced my shopping bag at the lobby, he kindly arranged a taxi driver to deliver the bag to me at the air port. I definitely will stay there again next time.

This is my second stay at the Dorint. The location is perfect as it's out of town, so you don't have the city prices, but it's close enough to public transport to make central Zurich a 30min ride by tram. It's on the tram link to the airport too, so no hefty taxi or shuttle bus fees. The hotel staff are friendly and make sure solo travellers are well looked after. Desp...

Myself and my husband stayed at the Steigenberger Hotel for only one night, and we both wish we could have stayed longer! The staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate our early check in as well as answer any questions we had about Zurich. The location of this hotel could not have been better. It was in a quiet area, with almost a residential feel to it, but yet it was less than 10 minutes to the train station which also happened to be the starting point for many of our day tours. There were several bars and restaurants all within walking distance. We stayed in a Junior Suite, with breakfast included....

I can not fault the staff service, every staff member offered consistent high level of service that I expected from a 5-star hotel. The location of this hotel made it perfect for walking day-tour of Zurich city. Short easy stroll to Lake Zurich and surrounds. For those who doesn't want to walk, one can easily catch tram to tour this wonderful city. Further, I was abl...

I was stay in the hotel Hilton Zurich Airport. Was very nice area closed to the airport but very quiet when you are in the hotel. Loved this place! Recommended by our son, who is a world traveller as a must stay place when we were in Zurich. Well worth the effort to get there, we took the local tram, very easy, and even though we were only there one night, it could have been a home base as no problem to get to town, quick and simple. Had a delicious gourmet meal in the hotel restaurant, then stro...

Eventhough the location is outside Zurich, but it is very convenient since the hotel is just next to the train station, it took about 20 minutes to go by train to Zurich, the room is clean and their breakfast is superb, this hotel is really value for money, I definitely will be back again.

Switzerland is massively expensive so we were fairly happy that we found a reasonably priced hotel in Zurich. Kindly enough, we were upgraded for free to a large King room for three nights which was luxurious. Nice room and free inroom wifi. Very friendly and helpful staff. Also received a free chocolate bar! The hotel is about 20 minutes by tram out of the city whi...

We only had 3 days in Zurich and wanted to make the most of them so we booked something as central as we could. Not only was the location amazing, but the service was also incredible. it was our first night in zurich. as this hotel has top ranking, we decided to stay there, but the experience is a bit disappointing. it is a small hotel so we were assigned to a room on the 1st floor, even we booked the junior suite. the view from the room is not good, but the cost of the room is very high. however, the service quality of the staff is very good....

The staff performance here is amazing. Our room was upgraded from the deluxe to superior at no charge! We requested for an early check in at 9 AM and we could do that. The night before we left, we had quite a lot of shopping so we had to pack a box. I have been coming back to this centrally located hotel for 20 years and I very much appreciate the old world charm and total grasp of quality and comfort that the hotel understands. We received an upgrade upon check-in as it was my birthday on the second day of our stay. Service was top notch, on the morning of my birthday, staff at the restaurant where breakfast was served each greeted me and conveyed their warm wishes. Public transportation is efficient and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate the city.
