Very Relaxing Guest House”
We stayed at Relax Guest House only one night, but were very pleased with our stay. As many other reviews may attest to, Bob is a delight. Bob took us all around Dambulla and Sigiriya in his Rastafarian tuktuk. He even took us to a place that we hadn't heard of to see wild elephants at the town dump. The location is very quiet and relaxing, as it is located a ways off the main road. It is located in a lush forest and we enjoyed sitting outside on the porch. The owner and their family were all very warm and friendly. Be warned, however, if they offer you food, drink, and Bob's tour around Dambulla-- as it was not made clear to us up front how much we would have to pay, or even that we would have to pay at all. The fact that we had to pay for these things wasn't made clear until we were about to leave, and it left us feeling a little surprised and almost tricked. We wouldn't have chosen to have the food or beer if we had known we had to pay for it, but we enjoyed Bob's tour. In spite of this, Relax Guest House is still highly recommended for the friendliness of the staff, good value, and cleanliness.

Nice and friendly staff, rooms need improvement”
the common living room area, near to the dambulla cave temple, near to the dambulla town
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. In my room, a component from the ceiling fan was loose it could fall down and hurt someone. The toilet seat was broken. I have spent better nights at other guest houses at this price range.

We love you Bob Marley”
Friendly, welcoming and you get to meet Bob Marley!
Relax guest house is perfect for travelers on a budget who think that the most important part of a journey is the people that you meet along the way. Bob Marley, along with all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The home-cooked Sri Lankan food was delicious and we received some great advice about how to best see the local sights. The ride in Bob's Tuk-Tuk is highly recommended and was a highlight of our trip. The rooms we stayed in were en suit, water was warm(-ish) and with the additional benefit of an occasional frog (free of charge). Mosquito nets were provided although they weren't in the best of conditions (however other hotels/home stays that we stayed in for a similar price didn't have any). Staying at Relax Guest house was an fantastic experience, we have no regrets stay and would recommend it for backpackers, solo travelers and groups.

Perfect hosts”
Bob Marley, home-cooked food, friendly atmosphere
This is a fairly basic (but clean) room which matches the price, however the wonderful hospitality we received hasn't been matched anywhere else in Sri Lanka. Bob Marley & his sister & brother in law just went above & beyond to make us feel welcome. This place has a fun & social atmosphere.

Value for money”
Owner of the guest house can help you to plan your trips. Can meet Sri Lankan Bob Marley. Food is cheap
It is a good place to stay and will not cost you much. Very helpful staff. Have a playful puppy (chewty).

Good value for money”
Place, kind owners, great food.
We spent two nights at this guest house, which is located in nice small jungle. The owner and his family was really kind and helpful. They cooked for us great dinner and arranged for us the trip to Polonnaruwa. The accommodation was simple and there were a lot of mosquitos - but it was a problem of the location, no of the accommodation. I can recommend this guest house to everyone, who travels with "low-cost budget".

Ok room. Bad location TBH”
Friendly staff. Quiet area (if you're into that). Near the temple
The guesthouse isn't on the main road so it's nice and quiet... If you're into that. You have to walk on a dirt road (make sure you have a torch at night) and walked about 5 minutes. Stray dogs roamed the road so I had to pray I wouldn't get bitten and catch rabies! I admit I didn't feel safe at night - no problem if you catch a tuk tuk though (should cost about 150rupees max) it's close to the temple but far from the main bus stop. Wifi signal wasn't very strong - it would cut off frequently. They first put me in the front room. I had settled but 2 hours later (and just as I was literally about to walk out to go to Sigirya) they made me move rooms so I wasted a bit of time moving my luggage I had unpacked. So it was a bit inconvenient but the room did have ac and hot shower which I didn't pay for so was fair enough that I was moved. Found two cockroaches and 3 small frogs in my new bathroom. Great. They don't give you the complimentary bottled water unless you ask for it. The staff can't really speak English well but they are really friendly.

Wonderful ! You have to go there !”
Owners are so gentle, offering tea, fresh fruits etc... You feel like a member of the family. Place is so calm, best thing after a rough day of climbing Dambulla temple or Sigiryia Rock.
Bob Marley is a really amazing person, so friendly, giving good advices and his tuktuk is awesome. Rest of the staff are wonderful people. Best guesthouse in Dambulla by far.
