Substantial Breakfast and Good City View”
The hotel offers a substantial breakfast, both Western and Asian, that is enough to power your day in Phnom Penh. The rooms on the higher floors offer a good view of the city. This is also only some 2-blocks away from Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) and a further 20-min walk to the Russian Market. The only downside of this property is that it is quite far from the main attractions of Phnom Penh, such as the Wat Phnom, Royal Palace, National Museum and Night Market. In our 3 days in Phnom Penh, a ride of Rmork each way to and from the city centre costs $4.
Price is reasonable, nice hotel, good location ”
It was my great time to stay in Phnom Penh at Relax Hotel, it is a great hotel surround by everything. friendly staff and breakfast is okay. reasonable price really recommend.
Very kind staff and clean hotel”
The hotel location is very convenient which is only 5mins walk to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, 10mins by tuk tuk from the bus station and royal palace. The hotel staffs are nice especially the guy at the reception counter who help us for check in/out and gave us very detail explanation to all our questions. Will definitely come back to this hotel if visit to Phnom Penh again next time
Very good valued hotel, highly recommended”
This hotel is new and was exactly what everyone looks for in an affordable family hotel. Near to laundry mart, restaurant, 24 hr mart. Their breakfast is good. The staff were extremely polite and helpful with my requests for assistance. The room is bigger than other the same level hotel I used to stayed. I really recommend if you are looking for 3 Star hotel to stay in Phom Penh, Relax Hotel is the best choice.
Great location, clean room, excellent services”
The hotel offers a great value with nicely designed and clean room. It is also close to some favorite attractions like Royal Palace, riverside and Central Market. Definitely a go-to hotel when visiting Phnom Penh again.
Great hotel, great price!”
This was a best hotel I stayed at in Cambodia. Great service, nice room, friendly staff. Everything is new and modern. Great location and very close to Toul Sleng Genocide Museum. I will stay whenever back to Phnom Penh.
Stayed a night got free delicious breakfast and it's convenient if you're a new comer to Phnom Penh and don't know where to eat. Best price in low season (August). Great location.
Clean, excellent location”
A clean, comfortable hotel in an ideal location for tourists. Relax Hotel is great if you're looking for something no frills. It's a 2-minute walk from the S21 museum, walking distance to the Russian Market and Bassac Lane, and a short tuk tuk ride from the Royal Palace. My room was clean and quiet, with a good shower and bed. The only thing that let the hotel down was a slightly ropey breakfast, but at this price point you really can't complain.
I booked at Relax for two nights at the recommendation of a friend and found it generally fine. The only reason I'd give the facilities a "satisfactory" rather than "good" rating is that the bathroom had no hot water on the second night and final morning of my stay. Location is not fantastic but an inexpensive PassApp ride takes you most places you'd want to go as a short-term visitor to Phnom Penh. And it's just around the corner from Treehouse Cafe, a specialty coffee shop that makes the best hot chocolate in Cambodia (I don't do coffee). (Full disclosure: Treehouse is run by friends of mine, but the hot chocolate really is great!)
Good location and decently maintained”
Stayed at other hotels in Phnom Penh before and am pleased that unlike the others in the same price range, this hotel did not have problems with its WiFi, hot water bath and air-conditioning. However the doors are quite thin and do not keep the noise out of the room. Some neighboring guests came back really late and was noisy in their rooms. Can be heard in my room too.
Clean but sub standard”
Stayed in many hotels in Phnom Penh and this was certainly not the best. Not the worst either. However, the main issue was noise. Lots of it. Room had a small balcony. It had the outside units of my air con and 3 other rooms. The noise through the night from them was very loud. Also, in the morning, early morning, house keeping were shouting down corridor and using there radios at uncomfortable level. One other issue was the pillows were too big and hard. Had to use the chair cushion instead. All pillows were the same I was told. On the plus breakfast was good and a welcome drink a nice touch. 1 lift for 14 floors did mean waiting. It’s an ok hotel for price, but personally I will stay somewhere else next time.
Best hotel I stayed at”
In 3 weeks of travelling around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, paying roughly the same price range for hotels each day, Relax hotel was by far the best. Staff very helpful, good breakfast, excellent cleanliness. Good water pressure and temperature in the bathroom. Would happily stay again.
Excellent location, friendly staff”
Have stayed at this hotel several times on work trips to Phnom Penh. It's conveniently located near the BKK1 area. Staff is very friendly, rooms are clean. The food is not very good, but it's not too far from plenty of restaurants and cafes.
Chose it for location but regretted it”
Initially, we chose Relax hotel due it's proximity to the Tuol Seng museum, believing we would just stay one night, see that and then head to the killing fields before moving on. However, as we spent over three hours in the museum and really didn't have the motivation to take in more heartbreaking stories about the Khmer Rouge, we extended our stay. The room is clean and comfortable but the hotel has a tour group sort of feel. The location is close to Tuol Seng but pretty far from the Royal Palace, National Museum, Riverside and...well pretty much everything. Luckily motos can be bargained town to a dollar or less but definitely not one for those who wish to be near the thick of things. Breakfast is the usual fried rice and noodles, sausages and fried eggs and a rice porridge. I ended up only being able to stomach the baguette with butter. Our biggest issue was the amount that they overcharged us for the bus ticket to Kep that we booked with them. We ended up paying $12 each for a minivan ticket, almost as much as the ticket from Kep back to Phnom Penh and all the way to Siem Reap. Do not buy tickets from the hotel!

Very nice modern hotel. Lovely and friendly staff.”
This hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. From the very beginning it was a wonderful experience. The check-in process was quick and easy, they helped my partner and i to carry our bags. Anything that we asked for, they were more than happy to help with; with a smile. This included: changed twin room to double as requested, provided extra pillows, allowed us to use their computer and print many documents free of charge. Allowed us to use their telephone when we needed to call a cambodian number. 10/10 I would strongly reccomend and I hope to visit again soon! PS. The only downside was that the breakfast was not as nice as other hotels of a similar price, but maybe irs because we came down to eat too late and most of the food was gone!
Good stay in a nice area of the city ”
We had a nice stay here for 4 days, the location is in the nicer side of town and near cools restaurants, cafes and museums. The breakfast is OK but good enough, staff were friendly and helpful too. I’d probably stay again if I was in Phnom Penh.
I recommend this hotel to anyone whose looking for a comfortable stay. Front desk receptionist and staff were very helpful and friendly in every way. When I came back to the city, I ended coming back to Relax Hotel as it made my stay very comfortable and convenient. The staff were able to accommodate my stay upon my requests. Highly recommend!!
Great Location and Comfortable Stay in Phnom Penh”
I stayed one night at Relax Hotel. It is the new hotel, the room was nice and comfortable with balcony that I could see the panoramic view of the city. Their staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so nice and have many choice. Highly recommend! I really miss it.

Often the promo pics don't reflect reality but when I walked into the room I was pleasantly surprised! It was exactly like the pics. Room was clean and lots of nice little touches: kettle, fridge, safe etc. Kudos to patient front desk staff ( esp Ratha) for helping me out (twice) to program the safe. This hotel is far from the river but just a couple of blocks from the genocide museum so location depends on where you are going. This hotel has very few westerners - virtually all customers are from neighbouring countries and the breakfast reflected that: a complete write-off if you want a western breakfast....and cold. Recommend the "Flicks" movie theatre just a couple of blocks away. Small, fun and inexpensive: a great way to put in time on a rainy day. Also "350 BBQ" near the museum is great value. I had a late night flight and staff kept my luggage for me and Ratha even offered me a room to have a quick shower before my flight: I politely declined but what service! Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
