Marriott hotel walking distance to Glendale Westgate”
Nice hotel and good location. However, the problem with Marriott in the USA (as opposed to abroad) is that they nickel and dime you for every little thing when compared to other brands like Hilton. For starters, parking is not included in your stay ($20/night, self-park, unlike Hilton and Intercontinental). Breakfast is not included (unlike Hilton Doubletree or Embassy Suites). Bottled water in the room is $4 prominently displayed on top of the minibar counter. WiFi is charged and not free unlike other hotel chains. Marriott also charges you a daily convenience/hospitality fee they say you can 'recover' if you go to certain in=house overpriced restaurants and bars. Even Sheraton/Starwood was like Hilton until 2016 when Marriott acquired it and then did the nickel and dime thing with that brand as well. So the take home message is, yes, it is a nice hotel (make sure if you get a single room they do not place you in one with a connecting door to loud people in the neighboring unit); but you will pay for it. Depending on how your company reimburses, many of these expenses will not be covered completely as they exceed the IRS per diems or are not allowed at all (hospitality fee). If you aren not paying for it, what do you care? But if you are, choose a different hotel brand that gives way more value for your money.

Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa”
My stay at the Renaissance Hotel went well. There were some positives and few negatives listed below. Positives: 1). Hotel Staff were very professional, caring, and made you feel right at home in the hotel. Staff would greet you with a smile. 2). Variety of mini-shops within the hotel was great to have without having the need to go out and find places to get stuff. 3). The restaurant was beautiful, with a variety of food items to pick from their menu. 4). The hotel room was clean, beautiful, and had an outside balcony with chairs and table provided for a single room. 5). The other areas of the hotel such as the lobby, elevators, and floors were beautiful, clean, and spacious. Negatives: 1). Some of the music from Westgate would filter in where it could be hard for some sensitive to noise to sleep. 2). Small areas of the hotel needed stuff picked up from the floor that people would leave around. 3). Food is very pricey compared to other hotels. Overall was a great stay.
