Friendly, Relax and Nice Beach

Had stay at Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa for 3 nights, the experience is unforgettable. The staff is extremely friedly and will go all out to help you with anything. My friend's room wi-fi was not functioning properly, the staff then help my friend to get a in-room router, and they helped us to arrange transport to attraction of Phuket. The room, it is big and good with plenty of moving space and a lazy corner which makes u feel sleepy once you hit the cushion. The environment is heaven, they do has a beach that seem like being owned by the hotel, and the pool is just next to the beach. HEAVENLY!!!

Lovely hotel, shame about the guests. ”

Good service, gorgeous rooms, wonderful pool, and delicious breakfast buffet.

i really enjoyed the stay at the renaissance phuket. as my title indicates, there were many positive aspects to the resort. on top of those, the spa was good quality, the grounds were an interesting mix of sand and greenery, and the cafe next to the main buffet was a great option for a light meal in the pm. however, the hotel was packed out and i never felt i was able to escape from people. there was a wedding party there and they were drinking in the pool and tossing an american football all around in the pool, and on the grounds. children have their own separate pool that has its own treehouse and waterfall, but parents insisted that they enter the adult pool. the service around the pool area was not attentive. unlike some resorts, they didn't make themselves available for towel and bench set-ups, take orders for food or snacks, or care to serve us on the grassy area. overall, i enjoyed myself, but i don't know if i'd return when there are so many other options in phuket. finally, i didn't mind the isolation for a few nights stay, but if you are there for a long time, it'll be a hardship finding local food or shopping as this resort is very isolated.

Really nice and quiet place to stay”

Great Hotel, Very Friendly Staff, Great Food

We enjoyed our time in Renaissance Phuket. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Tips: There's local massage near the ocean at the left side of their beach-side restaurant for 400 Baht. There's also local food that's much cheaper than the hotel food, you can walk or borrow a bike from the hotel (for free), it's around 5 to 10minutes bike ride if you go left from the hotel. Nobody could swim or surf in their Mai Khao beachfront because of the huge waves -- not the hotel's fault but it's just the wrong season, so we settled for the hotel's pool. The Mai Khao white sand is also a bit course. If you're looking for a nice, quiet, and relaxing stay, away from the nightlife of Patong, this place is suited for you.

Excellent Food, Service & rooms

First impression counts & the welcome drink was amazing! Special mention to Maxi who was in charge of our check-in, Maxi made us feel so important. Maxi was kind enough to give us a packet of snacks when we checked out. Thank you Maxi, we definitely miss you and your impeccable service! It was a smooth check-in and every information provided was clear. Our Deluxe room was awesome and came with all modern facilities. Every staff in the hotel were very friendly and willing to assist you at any moment. I was attending my daughter's wedding in SALA Phuket Resort (just beside Renaissance) and the staff in Renaissance went above and beyond by picking us up at 1.30am in SALA after the wedding - indeed a plus point and a lovely gesture. Breakfast and choice of food were simply amazing! Impressive service!! We look forward to our next visit to Renaissance Phuket! Love from Punitha

Excellent service, lovely grounds, great breakfast

This was our second stay in Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa. The service is absolutely excellent, perhaps even better this year, because the staff now speak better English than when we visited last year. The rooms and grounds are as well-maintained as the previous year, and the breakfast buffet didn't disappoint. If you're looking for action and excitement, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind, and to be spoiled with great service, this resort comes highly recommended! It was as lovely and tranquil as we remembered it. Looking forward to returning again in future!

beautiful modern exterior and interior, clean and quiet, great breakfast buffet

We only stayed at Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa for one night and we wished we stayed there longer. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. The room had nice decor, the exterior of the hotel was modern and beautiful, too. The beach in front of the resort was beautiful and very quiet (we only had time to walk around in the morning, so we are not sure how it is in the afternoon). The Thai restaurant had nice atmosphere and great food. The breakfast buffet had a lot of varieties and they were all delicious.

Fantastic Property! A must-stay!”

Great Pool, bar-area, great breakfast buffet

Renaissance Phuket was the highlight of our trip to Phuket. The hotel staff is friendly and they go out of their way to comfort their guests. After the quick check-in we were transported to our room on a cute golf cart which was available throughout our stay for moving about within the property. The hotel lets the guests borrow bicycles to move around the area outside and we biked to the Turtle Village which was about 2 kms away. There are tuk-tuks available at no charge to travel around the area. One of the best things about Renaissance was the sumptious breakfast spread and the dining options they had on offer. The pool over-looked the sea and there was a jacuzzi in it. We had a really early morning flight out of Phuket and as a very thoughtful gesture, the staff handed us breakfast boxes at the check-out. If we ever go back to Phuket, we are definitely staying at the Renaissance!

Spacious rooms, design, food

Located not far from the airport about a 15-20min taxi ride, the renaissance hotel is a hidden gem along the mai khao beach. We got a deluxe room and it was very spacious and comfortable. The food at the hotel was really great, especially the breakfast buffet spread which was one of the best I ever had.The staff were also very helpful towards handling all our requests and queries about travelling around phuket. The only fault i could find is that the hotel is situated rather far from the city/town in patong

A once in a lifetime experience”

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, mesmerising sea-view, great pool, mouthwatering breakfast, you name it!

i would never think twice about where to stay in phuket. it would have to be the renaissance resort. it's fairly new and is an absolute must for people looking for a private getaway. it's a long way out of the mainstream areas (45 minute drive from patong beach, 1-hour drive from phuket town), but trust me given how crowded the main areas have become, this is an excellent option. if however you want to be in the hub of activities in phuket, you should probably go elsewhere (near patong). renaissance is very exclusive, extremely romantic, and the staff is very friendly. the beach is not as great as the others in phuket because of the tide. but it has its own haunting effect on you and i was sold instantly for it.

Lovely Hotel and Lovely Staff”

A Gem in the Marriott Group

You always have certain expectation when you choose to stay with international chain hotels, my stay at Renaissance Phuket in fact exceeded my original expectation. Facilities there are new (opened 2010) and staff and their service are a delight. You would see standardized in-room design evident in other Marriott / Renaissance properties but you’d also detect small details particularly for this property. • Room (deluxe) is of good size. Using a round table i/o a conventional writing desk is a sensible design. The day bed-cum-sofa with the coffee table of workable height is good for 2-3 friends to have a drink/chit-chat. Shower cubicle of decent size and a seating is good for use by kids and elderly. • Outdoor facilities and landscaping is beautiful. Rooms are either facing an in-hotel ‘natural’ tiny lagoon or facing the beach. Overall ambience is tranquil following paths leading to beach side pool and restaurants. • Staff of all functions are extremely pleasant, considerate and helpful. It had been evident from folks in the front desk, room attendants, servers in restaurant and concierge/bell desk. • Good selection of b’fast, while number of choices were not too overwhelming, food are all tasty with fresh juices, machine-coffee, egg benedict (sans Hollandaise sauce) …. just to name a few items. At last, while I was waiting at the lobby for my transport to the airport (own arrangement), the concierge staff offered me a cold towel and iced bottle water. It was a very thoughtful gesture certainly a good party note to my stay there. Sincerely hope that the hotel’s service level can sustain after the new (2 years) honeymoon period.

Three days of pure bliss”

Extremely attentive staff, amazing attention to details, superb service

One of the reasons we chose Renaissance Resort was because of its proximity to the airport, and we'd been recommended by another couple to stay there. I am glad we did. Right from the moment we entered, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Check-in was a breeze (literally!) because all we did was laze about in the lobby sipping our welcome drinks while the staff handled the details. We'd also wanted an early check-in and that was easily arranged as well. Other than the fact that the room was quite spacious (we stayed in the Deluxe room) and everything was what can be expected from a luxury resort, surprisingly, it was the JBL iPod dock that delighted me the most, having never seen anything like that in a hotel room before. Special shout out to the staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I was also amazed that they refused to charge us for the soup we had one night for dinner because we complained it was too salty. The spa was amazing, although a bit pricey, given how an hour long foot massage at one of the beach-side massage stalls cost one-sixth of what my husband paid for a one hour full body massage in the spa. My mother-to-be massage, on the other hand, was a totally blissful experience, and I was touched by how caring the lady was. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

Excellent service in a lovely setting.”

Excellent service from the resort staff throughout.

this is our second time at renaissance phuket resort & spa. as usual, the place was immaculately maintained, especially the grounds & garden. from the staff who checked us in to the various restaurants' staff, they were all polite and helpful. we enjoyed the quality breakfast spread & it was seventh heaven for my 10-year-old son to get ice-cream for breakfast. lounging around the garden was a pleasure with cold towels, iced water & ice-lollies served! our only wish is that the resort provided free shuttle service to patong or phuket town. it costs a whopping for a round trip taxi ride to patong.

Good for honeymoon”

Long secluded sandy beach, breakfast, friendly staff

We only stayed in Renaissance Hotel 2 nights, but oh my, what a hotel!! It made for a perfect start of our honeymoon! The beach is superb, away from all the hustle and bustle, it really is as secluded and sandy as we have read before booking this hotel (we were practically the only two people on the beach that extended kilometres). We found it a bit surprising that not many people swam in the sea, most of the people prefered the pool. There is a big infinity pool overlooking the sea and the staff supplies free fresh water and towels once you come to the pool. Regarding the staff: they are most kind, always smiling and they give you a feeling that they are there to make your stay as enjoyable as they possibly can. I had hurt my heel before taking the trip and when I asked for some ice, they even sent a guy to perform first aid (free of charge). The breakfast is amazing, you have to try it, especially the coffee (it was the best coffee we have drank on our trip-and we have been to many places). There are so many choices and even though it's a bit pricey, we would recommend it. The "downside" is that there is not many places you can go when staying at Renaissance, so 2 nights was a perfect length for us. They provide free shuttle to/and from Mariott Hotel every half hour (the last one returning at 23:45). We would recommend to go and see the Mariott at sunset, it really is magnificient - they light torches and the whole place turns into a fairy tale (perhaps that's why we have seen 2 weddings there). We were not impressed with it during the day though, it felt too crowded in comparison with the Renaissance. All in all we would definitely recommend Renaissance to our friends and family and will hopefully return here on our next trip.

Convenient and top quality”

Great beach, huge rooms and excellent service

Really good 5-star hotel - it's about 10-15mins from the airport which is very convenient compared to the ever increasing traffic/hassle of getting to Patong these last couple of years. The Mai Kao area of North West Phuket is quiet, has an unspoiled beach, and just what you need IF you want a quiet stay. - PROS: Huge rooms with comfortable beds, all of the staff were very friendly and service was to western standards (it's owned/managed by Marriott), the pool/beach area is excellent and the food was top quality - especially their Thai Restaurant. You can take a hotel tuk tuk to the Marriot if you want to try other meal options as well. Spa is excellent - CONS: The place lacks any kind of Thai feel/décor which I've really enjoyed on other trips to Thailand. There were occasional niggles: I couldn't get a hotel transfer with 6hrs notice, bathroom (#430) tap water was brown, house keeping seemed to visit really late in the afternoon (when you are likely to want to go back to avoid the heat), the music at pool/lounge was a really repetitive 35-or-so songs with the CD often 'skipping' = for the cost of this hotel, I do expect better. - Lastly as an FYI, the people with families tend to ignore the separate kids pool and use the main infinity pool, so the ambiance is not quite as serene as the website/photos would have you expect. Didn't bother me personally, but it was not what I anticipated. In any event I'd definitely go back - this place and the Sarojin are the best I've stated at in the past few years.

Surprise surprise surprise”

Value for the awesome service

Having not been to the Phuket area before you can imagine our hesitation when booking a chain hotel even if it was touted as a five star. Arriving at the hotel down a fairly long narrow road added to our stress...did we make the right choice? As soon as we stepped out of the taxi we started experiencing genuine, professional, caring service that is rarely seen these days. Room....clean, well designed....grounds are fun to explore and wander in. Food....variety and quality is excellent. The biggest surprise is that all of this came at a fantastic price. one of the bery best value hotels we have stayed at in ur 34 years' of marriage. So much so, that we stayed out expected 2 nights...checked out to relocate to our next three nights in Kata...and stayed only 1 night down there (even though we pre paid)...only to get back up to the Renaissance for our next 2 nights. I can not convey how beautiful, professional and relaxing this place is. If you want to be pampered and get a great value...get your buns over there.

Absolutely Glorious”

Gorgeous rooms, amazing staff and wonderful food

We had prearranged pick up from the airport to include a baby seat. This worked seamlessly! Our friendly driver was there to greet us as soon as we walked through customs. We were at the resort in no less than 20 minutes. The front office staff were there to greet us with a golf buggy to take us straight to our room to check in! Which was great considering we were tired. We also discovered that we had been upgraded to a Villa with a Plunge Pool. (The kind of room that makes you shrill with excitement when you walk in. Very impressive! ) Everything about this hotel is magical. Great restaurants- we couldn't fault the food. Try Sandbox for sunset drinks where you can relax in an ultra cool bar with sand between your toes! Incredibly friendly staff- nothing was a hassle for them. 2 fantastic pools. Gorgeous Day Spa- SO well priced. Very cool kids club with daily activities. I cant recommend this resort enough. It was truly the most relaxing 7 nights of our lives- even with a 7 month old baby!.... may have had something to do with the daily AU$6 massages in a hut on the beach! One thing that stood out for us was after dinner one night it was raining... so they had a gold buggy waiting to take us back to our room... even though it was only a quick dash around the corner. Pure luxury!

Staff went out of their way to be helpful.”

Andaman Sea, Bathrooms, Breakfast Buffet, Helpful Staff,
Pool not adequate for laps, mostly for children.

i only stayed january 1-2. my first stay at any renaissance resort. i found the staff particularly courteous and kind. my wife had swallowed a fish bone at dinner and was causing her distress. the front desk staff called the bangkok hospital and explained the situation. they then relayed the hospital message to my room, organized the taxi to phuket town, and was waiting at the lobby on our return. to top it off, after we were back in dhaka, i received an email from the receptionist inquiring about my wife's well being. her concern was appreciated and very sincere. thank you!
