The Best Accommodation to choose if you’re major reason is to visit the Vatican”
It’s literally a few steps from St. Peter’s Square! We came back to rest in between touring Saint Peter’s Basilica, Duomo, Vatican Museum, Caste Sant’ Angelo. Great staff: Marina and the rest of the Front Desk were wonderful. Th Terrace restaurant staff were also great. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily. Great view Of St. Peter’s Square from the Terrace restaurant.It’s a great option to have a restaurant on site when you’re too tired to get out again. Will definitely book this hotel again.

Great hotel but some areas to improve ”
Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Fantastic location, spacious room. Lovely terrace. WiFi was unusable Breakfast meal served in an unair conditioned upstairs room. Was quite warm in July. Room also could have been colder - temp would not go any lower and the room probably only reached 24c.

Residenza is in the Top place, right next to St. Peter’s square, it’s still territory of the Vatican. Clean hotel with a wonderful view of the Vatican dome. The terrace is amazing, bat I would recommed opening it completely, at least at the request of the guests. They did not accept our request to open the front part of terrace. The choice of food for breakfast was not large, but sufficient. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend.

Very Nice Location”
If your main reason to be in Italy is to visit the Vatican, this is a perfect choice as it sit just across St. Peter's Square. The balcony view i superb, you can even just there to hear the angelus by Pope Francis every Sunday.

A Haven Very Close to St Peter’s Square ”
Literally across the street from St. Peter’s Square, Residenza Paolo VI shines for friendly, multilingual, responsive staff, a great breakfast buffet, beautiful terrace views of St. Peter’s, and location, location, location. During our trip we had an unexpected medical issue and Sabrina, one of the friendly and helpful receptioni/concierges, smoothed our way to finding a nearby hospital with urgent care. The hotel is within a few blocks of the Ottaviano Metro station, providing access to all of Rome. The front desk can be relied upon to provide excellent customer service with a smile at all times. The breakfast buffet is served in a charmingly appointed room and is available from 7 to 10:30 and includes a spread of meats, cheeses, eggs, bacon, cereals, rolls, pastries, fruit salad, whole fruits, yogurts and juices to please anyone. Coffee is good and hot. Fill up here and avoid having to eat a big lunch. The rooms are small, which is normal for Rome, but comfortable. Highly recommend.

Great location and very friendly staff”
We stayed at the Paolo VI residence before and after a cruise departing from Civitavecchia. The building has been remodelled from a monastery into a small boutique hotel with just 28 rooms and the many paintings and stories from the Popes on display remind you are in a holy place, from the terrace you are overlooking the St. Peter Square, ideal to discover the Vatican on foot. 200 meters from the hotel is a stop for all the various hop on & hop off busses to explore the other attractions the eternal city has to offer. Just around the corner is also the bus stop 64 that connects with the Spanish steps area and Colloseum. You won't need to take a single taxi during your stay if you stay here. The staff is very helpful and speaks multiple languages. They will provide you with all the informaqtion you need to make the best out of your stay. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome, the location is unbeatable and the rather small but clean rooms offer all the necessary comfort.

Couldn't be any closer to St. Peter's Square”
paolo vi hotel is an excellent location for visiting the vatican. it must be the closest hotel to st. peter's literally only 10 steps away. the staff was friendly and helpful in setting up tours for us. if you have little interest in the vatican and only wish to do colosseum activities you may want to choose a hotel closer to the ancient city. the distance is walkable but is kinda far. the metro is easily accessible. the breakfast croissants were awesome. the room was adequate, not many plugs, felt a little like a convent and the shower was tiny. but overall, a perfect spot to enjoy rome.

Great location, an oasis of calm in frenetic Rome”
I loved this ancient building, recently converted to a luxurious boutique hotel. I stayed at the Rezidenza because I was in Rome for only 56 hrs and I was booked to do 3 tours of the Vatican, Vatican Gardens, Necropolis,Museums and St Peters as well as a 4 hr guided coach tour to Hadrian's Villa and Villa D'Este. It was 40 degrees celcius in Rome, teaming with people so popping back to the Redenza to go to their loo rather than battle with the approx 30.000 tourist using the public ones was such a bonus!

No better location. ”
Without doubt, the most beautiful location to stay in Rome, specifically near the Vatican. The rooms are comfortably small, clean and simply appointed. But, considering the location and the ability to walk out your room and a few steps down the hall to a terrace and spectacular view of St. Peter's Basilica, it more than compensates for the size. In the morning you can close your eyes to the sound of bells or enjoy a glass of wine or dinner with a warmly lit view of the St. Peter's. We walked everywhere from the hotel and the return back to the hotel everyday or evening past or through St. Peter's Square, made each day all the more special.

Exceptional all the way around”
This is my 2nd time visiting Rome. This hotel was everything I could have asked for: Perfect location; walking distance to all Vatican places of interest; Superb breakfast; Professional, accomodating staff; Quiet room; Very clean room, small but comfortable; Nice quiet bar for relaxing at the end of the day; and peaceful classical music playing in the hallways of the hotel. I highly recommend it.

Great Location”
Lovely boutique style accommodation right beside St Peter's Basilica. It is impeccably managed and serviced with professional and attentive reception and service staff. The residenza also offers a self service breakfast offering a surprisingly wide and fresh variety of breakfast fare. From later in the afternoon until midnight the Terrace Bar is open offering guests a salivating night view of the Basilica and Apostolic Palace, offering an environment so peaceful and pleasant after the hustle bustle and noise of daily Roma. While some may find the rooms on the small side (it was formerly a monastery anyway) they are spotlessly clean providing all the travelers' needs including personal safe.

closest you can stay to the vatican and st. peters. across a street to the plaza. our room was a corner with extra space and clean and quiet. bed comfy. great safe. bathroom with corner shower sliding doors and smallish but not too small. included breakfast buffet including some gluten free options ( and blocks away from le altre gf bakery) was fabulous. view of vatican from rooftop terrace bar inspiring. staff helpful (if you read this showerhead could be upgraded and 11 am checkout be amended). metro is a bit of a walk and was closed while we were there (be wary of hustling taxi drivers). wife loved the morning daily gospel (under the door). would definitely stay here again.

Great Location/Accomodating Staff”
Just across Vatican City. Very convenient if you are exploring the city. Friendly and accomodating staff. Provides immediate assistance if needed. Felt safe in the area. Rooms are clean and the one i stayed in is more than enough for one person. At the time of my visit, they are renovating the kitchen thus i was referred to their sister hotel for breakfast which is about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. Food served is more than the other hotels i stayed in Italy. Assisted in securing tickets to the Audience with the Pope. Near Tourist Information.

Perfect hotel for Vatican visit”
The stay was absolutely perfect. Firstly, as visiting Filipinos, our Embassy to the Vatican is situated right at the same building. And the rest of our stay couldn't be more THE BEST. The Vatican is just right as your go out of the hotel. There are also good restos and convenience store within the walking vicinity. I 101% recommend this hotel for those who will go for a Vatican visit.

The hotel was quiet and unbelivebly situated - the staff even managed (without our asking) to secure us the hotest tickets in town - the midnight papal mass - the hotel is an ex monastary so the smallish rooms have to be expected Breakfast was typically good and a good array of foods. Cons - small rooms But who is in vatican to be in their room?

Friendly and helpful staff. Typical small european hotel rooms, very well maintained. ...great view of St. Peters dome from rooftop bar. (not a place for dinner)...great location just steps from the Vatican square. ....excellent morning breakfast..... no real restaurant for dinner.....but very close to quite a number of cafés. ..would defitely come again.
