Recluse, Relaxing, but needs Repair and Expensive”
June 2020 Review of Good and Bad Good: No tourist; experience the original Koh Chang. The room has spacious bathroom with beautiful fixtures - I loved the waterfall shower! There's a pool that's well maintained too. The restaurant is seaside and has a beautiful view of the famous lighthouse. Bad: (1) No Trash or Recycle bin in my expensive room. (2) The wooden floor in my room had a sharp nail protruding from it. (3) lots of ants - there should be a broom in each room. (4) The staff didn't tell us that the resort had Kayaks and that they're free for guests! (5) The food in the restaurant is delicious but 3 times as expensive as other restaurants on the island. (6) The resort has limited parking on a steep mountain; if you don't have a car.

Fantastic location with great accommodation”
although we had difficulties finding resolution resort (locals didn't have a clue) we were pleasantly surprised after finding this oasis of solitude. the accommodation was clean, comfortable and nicely finished. the management were enthusiastic to help and keen to keep improving the resort. waking up well rested in an air-conditioned environment and opening your curtains to the sea lapping just a few metres away, with an inviting swimming pool in a well-kept garden was fantastic! wireless internet connection was also good. as the couple running the resort are keen to improve things, i will mention the following: * hooks or something in the bathroom to keep towels * please provide printed menus (i'm sure this is on your list already!) * better signs or advertising within bang bao bay * maybe offer a ferry terminal collection service to booked guests for a fee * as you have such good tvs in the rooms, maybe include some european channels rather than only having 200+ thai channels. all food dishes served were delicious, including the substantial complimentary breakfast. i would highly recommend resolution resort to couples or small families wanting to get away from it all. bang bao is not a long walk away, but you could spend a few days simply unwinding in paradise!

Perfect place for a tranquil honeymoon”
This is a resort with a very special design. We stayed in a spacious room with nice bed and outdoor sitting area on a shaded balcony. Thanks to resort's remote location, the place is very quiet. There are no noisy bars, no annoying tourist groups, no barking dogs. Just nature: green grass lawn, well-maintained small garden, birds, sometimes monkeys. And magnificent views of the sea, mountains and Bang Bao lighthouse - just from panoramic window of any room. The beach is not suitable for swimming but has beautiful mangroves, and there is a large beautiful swimming pool with white umbrellas. Free transfer to a nearest good beach by boat. Or to the walking street of Bang Bao pier by free car via short but bumpy road through rocks covered with jungle (be prepared:) ). So that's not a proper place for party lovers, big families or sightseeing trips. But that's a perfect place to feel tranquillity, to spot nature and to find out that the nature is the first and best sight of Koh Chang. And during our honeymoon we enjoyed the nature without any compromise in comfort as this resort has almost the same level of facilities as a 5-star resort has. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for getting away from it all.”
My wife and I were very pleased with Resolution Resort. We'd wanted to spend a couple of days away from the crowds and this resort certainly provided that opportunity. The staff were all very kind. I had no complaints at all, but the wonders and other support staff would stop by from time to time to ask about our stay and if we needed anything. If you do need to go into town (the hotel is very isolated), the owner operates a free shuttle service three times a day so you can go for shopping or dinner in Bangbao. They also provide a couple of kayaks for free and it was fun to take one out for a ride to Bangbao and the surrounding areas. I was able to paddle around the island and see monkeys hanging out on the beach. The room was very nice. Lovely views from the balcony and the bed was very comfortable. The room itself was quite large and everything was working properly. The only thing that could be improved was the breakfast. It was very typical of any other free hotel breakfast I've had on Koh Chang. The food is fresh but just not fantastic. For a free included breakfast it is certainly satisfactory, though.

Resolution resort is set in a quiet and somewhat remote location, there is free transport to the local small town of bang bao and to the local beach.the owners have 17 cats so be aware of this.the swimming pool is kept clean and gets the sun all day. Staff are friendly and helpful. I had the best ham sandwich ever consisting of ham fried egg, lettuce tomato cucumber and mayo.prices are very reasonable for food and drinks. All in all a great resort if you want pease and quiet.

Great place far away from the world”
the resort is probably the most southern of the island, in the peninsula closing bang bao bay, facing the lighthouse of the pitoresque village. it's not easy no reach with some km of gravel road, so if you are looking to relax yorself far from the crowd this is definetely the place to be, with a beautiful swimming pool looking directly the bay. pictures are really what it looks like. ideal for an honeymoon romantic stay. the hotel is runned by owner's family, always helpful and flexible for your needs, cooking included. if you prefer nightlife and dining out all the time i'd suggest to go elsewhere.

Paradise”
Peace and quiet,we stayed much longer than our Agoda booking due to the magic ambiance of Resolution Resort together with the excellent owners and staff who pandered to our daily needs.We have no complaints, the room was exceptional as was the romantic setting especially at meal times overlooking the sea. The swimming pool must be the best in Ko Chang if not the whole of Thailand, if you need to chill out then this is the place! We used the free kayaks daily, plus you can book all the excursions from the Resort, as a previous reviewer recommended, go on the 5 islands ferry tour.

Beautiful environment, well-kept facilities”
The hotel is close to Bang Bao bay whose pier is the hub for many diving and boat tours from Koh Chang. Its a little bit difficult to get there as they are at the tip of the bay and the road is in part unpaved and passes through other resorts. car transfer to and from Koh Chang ferry terminal takes at least two hours so probably only a longer stay will justify the effort to getting there. however, the owner tries to facilitate transport by offering free rides to Bang Bao pier twice a day. facilities overall were good though the rooms are a bit small especially if traveling as couple or with family. facilities including swimming pool are well maintained. because there are only 15 units we didnt see any large tourists groups which is a plus.

a superior resort experience”
unlike white sands beach, where it takes more than half an hour just to drive to the dive boat, this resort's just 5-10 minutes away from the main pier. the flip side of that is you are half an hour's drive to the action at white sands beach but chances are you didn't come here for the beer bars. resolution resort's got the tropical paradise atmosphere many discerning travelers are looking for without all the noise and crowds of humanity that are overpopulating so many other resorts. and unlike far larger resorts, the owner and his family are personally involved in looking after their guests. wifi internet is free and so is the first hour if kayaking is on your agenda. the swimming pool is absolutely sensational not just because of its opulent tropical surroundings and sensational view of the lagoon behind it but even more importantly due to its using salt to create its own chlorine through a sophisticated computerized control system. bottom line--i could swim over sixty meters underwater without a hint of eye burn whatsoever. it's a lot more difficult and expensive to do things this way, but it's typical of the overall attention to detail practiced by this owner. as for the food, my girlfriend's thai whereas i've lived in thailand for 6 years and neither of us found any reason to go elsewhere preferring instead to relax at the resort's little restaurant conversing with the other guests or the owner and his family.

It was awesome especially for cat lovers. many v cute cats roaming the resort and I had so much fun playin with them. Nice quiet place exactly opp bang bao village. Everything is well maintained.Only complain is the rd leading to the resort. Some stretch still unpaved.at only Sgd $41 a nite,u can't find anything better imho

Quiet family run hotel with great view”
A great place to stay if you want to unwind in lovely surroundings. The staff are friendly and around if you need them, but leave you to do what you want. The pool is lovely and has a great view over the bay. It is 20 minutes walk along the beach from Bang Bao but the hotel staff will transport you and collect you. They are also helpful in arranging tours and activities. The rooms are large with big sliding doors. the bathroom design could be better as the way the door opens means you have to step into the shower area to get to the toilet. Somewhere to hang towels would be useful as would drawers in the bedroom. Each room has a lovely shady verandah with comfortable chairs which is a great place to sit and watch the boats go by. this is not a hotel to go to if you are looking fr nightlife or lots of activity but a fabulous place to get away from it all and relax

A beautiful place to get away from it all.”
A clean, well looked after resort, with super friendly and helpful staff. Truly one of the nicest places that I've stayed in Thailand. And for a change it actually resembles the promotional photos. The only downside is it's a bit tricky to get to, however it's certainly worth the effort. We'll definitely be going back.

Beautiful and private”
The place is secluded and off the road so you will need to hire a motorbike which is always best for getting around the large island (Thailand standards) of Koh Chang. The rooms and facilities are very clean, spacious and fitting into the lush surroundings.

Lovely hotel ”
The hotel is located in the south of the island, so about a 40 minute drive from the ferry. then it is about 1km on a dirt road. we went with a small Nissan March, and had no problems driving on it. However, I am not sure during rainy season if it would be passable with a small car. Overall, the hotel is in a great location, with nice and spacious rooms and balcony. Great views, and very quiet. Pool was pretty large, and deep at some points (above 2m). The views of the Bay are amazing. Small remarks are that breakfast was always same dish, and the shower area could be improved to the standard of the rest of the place. However, definitely value for money, and would recommend it for sure. Staff were very friendly and helpfull, and also nice that there were about 14 very cute cats to play with.

Very Isolated location”
If you like peace and quiet and solitude this is a lovely resort, we were a little unlucky that our overnight stay coincided with a staff party so we had music blaring out over the resort for many hours till past 9pm. However the location is superb if you like isolation, if you dont have your own transport you have to rely on being transported to and from the resort which is too far on foot, but once there it has super views looking across over Bang Bao and its pier.

Nice hotel in need of professional management”
We stayed at Resolution Resort for 4 nights before New Year's Eve and were upon arrival looking forward to a relaxing evening after an exhausting trip from Koh Samet. However, we were kept awake the first night by booming dance music from the other side of the bay until 3 AM. The room itself was very clean and spacious with a beautiful balcony and a view of the bay. As other reviewers have noted, the location is a bit off the beaten path and one needs to plan their travel when heading to the marina or anywhere else on the island. In summary then, the positives and the negatives: + Nice rooms with balconies with bay views + Beautiful garden + Large, cool pool + Friendly, helpful staff - Mediocre restaurant with both of us becoming sick from the breakfast at one point - Very far from any other amenities (restaurants) - Reception staff had poor English skills - Noisy hotel on other side of the bay might keep you awake some nights - No English language or European TV channels available - No hotel or local information available in the rooms or distributed to guests upon arrival

great value for money and what a view.....”
my husband and i stayed here for 10 nights over christmas and new year. the location of the hotel is overlooking the bay which is really beautiful. you do have to travel up a track which is full of rubble so you do need some form of transport. we hired a bike for the whole duration of our stay for approx 150 bht per day. to walk the dirt track would take approx 30 minutes.the staff in the hotel are just fantastic, its a small family run business giving it a personal touch, they will do absolutely anything for you. we tried a few different thai currys whilst we were there and omg, sensational and massive portions. the roomsbare big and are furnished with old solid wooden furniture. they are cleaned everyday with cleans towels. the pool is beautiful and the gardens are massive with loads of space to relax. really enjoyed our stay here.
