It felt more like staying with friends!”
Staying at Ressas felt more like visiting friends instead of being in a hostel/homestay. We instantly connected to the friendly owner and his friends and sat until late at night in the yard, making music :) Renting a motorbike for a very reasonable price was no problem. The homestay is between Senggigi and Mataram, so both cities are easy and fast to reach by motorbike. There also is beach within a 10 mins walk, but it's not a 'touristic beach' - so if you expect a white sandy beach you might be disappointed; but it's still nice sitting there. Ressas Homestay is the perfect place for backpackers and people with low budget.

Home away from home!”
I loved the owners and other guests I met at Ressa! The owners and other staff members are very friendly and extremely helpful! However, be conscious of when you're asking for help since they live and eat on the premises as well. I tried not to bother them while they were eating, etc., but don't worry., the husband will politely ask you to let him finish his meal. =) It was always tempting to ask him questions since he hangs out in the middle area with local friends and guests. I loved that it wasn't in the touristy area of Senggigi, only about a 15 minute taxi ride ($2 USD) from the main city. It's also about a 5 minute walk to the Warungs (local street food vendors).....I wouldn't recommend walking by yourself. It's safe, but if you stand out as a tourist, you'll be an easy target for some unwanted attention since you won't be in the super touristy part of Senggigi. When I stayed there, the guests and local friends would hang out, sing and play the guitar. A great way to meet everyone and make new friends. the only problem was that I didn't know about not having hot water or paying more for a room that provided hot water. Cold showers weren't fun and some nights were a little chilly so I would avoid washing my hair in the evenings. Nonetheless, I will DEFINITELY return to Ressa Home Stay and recommend it to my friends!

Nice place”
To be honest, we didn't really enjoy the Senggigi area all that much. That said, Ressa homestay was a very nice place to be. Center Senggigi is a short scooterride away. Near the hotel are several foodstalls, in one of which we had some awesome duck. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly and helpful!

amazing homestay with an amazing owner”
Ressa is a little homestay near Senggigi in a quiet place not far from all the commodity. The owner is really helpfull, with good advices and really great attention. From example, we came back from the Rijiani trek and she didn't have any room with hot water anymore. So when we arrived she already boiled litter of water just to make us feel good after this difficult trek. We hardly recommend this very clean and welcoming home stay. thank you again for this few days

one night before Gili Islands”
We flew to Lombok and a shuttle bus took us directly to Ressa Homestays turn off. It was easy to get to and very clean when we arrived. Although there are not very many restaurants around and we opted for a nice beach resort that turned out good. The beach is pretty close and the busy street out front will get you a taxi to any where. Thank you for a great stay.

Very fun place to stay”
We only spent one night at Ressa Homestay, but it was one of my favourite nights of the whole trip. We arrived at night, and were warmly greeted before being showed to our room. We were told that they like to have a little party for their guests each night and if we wanted to we could head back out to their communal area to hang out after we got settled in. We took them up on the offer and hung out with them in the communal area. Soon enough we were all jamming on their guitars and singing a bunch of great songs, complete with local palm wine and a few beers we bought. The team here were all so much fun and it had a great little atmosphere. Hanging with a bunch of locals as well as other foreign travelers was excellent. When you stay here, you're not paying big money for a fancy hotel, but what we got was a great night with some great people and a more than satisfactory room for the amount paid. I'd love to stop back here again some time.

Simple Clean Hotel but a bit further from Senggigi”
I was looking for a single night to stay before starting a trek up Mt. Rinjani. This place was great. The room was very clean and simple. Like most places at this price range (100,000rp-ish), showers were cold. In addition, there was a squat toilet, which I don't really mind but keep that in mind when booking. The room I stayed in had a fan, a dresser, a big king size-ish bed. The room was very clean and looked in pretty good condition and included towels and blankets. The actual hotel is small and hidden away from the main road so it is a bit quiet, which was nice for me. The only downside is its a bit farther then other hotels closer to Senggigi downtown. In order to get there you would have to catch a taxi and you would have to pay around $1-2 (10,000-20,000rp) for a 10-15 minute ride. Pretty cheap. I even got an offer from the owner for a free ride on his motorcycle into town. It's always a good idea to bring your Agoda booking receipt, which has the homestay address, to show to the taxi driver to go to and from the homestay The place is owned by an Indonesian man and his Japanese wife. They all speak English, Indonesian, and Japanese, which was pretty nifty. The structure of the homestay and outdoor seating make it pretty tight night, easy to meet other travelers, and get help from the family that actually stay there. I had the help of the staff when needed and a few friends of mine actually made a traveling friend from this homestay. Note: For security reasons, I'm assuming, the family locks the front gate at night until early morning. I checked out around 5am and the gate was locked but the family woke up without me asking and helped me unlock the gate even though I had forgotten to inform them of my early morning checkout. So make sure you set things up with them if you're expecting to leave early in the morning. Great place all around with honest, helpful staff that will not rip you off or screw around with you. Highly recommended!

Very nice homestay in quiet location”
We really enjoyed our stay at Ressa. The owner is a Japanese lady and many of the guests who stay here are Japanese. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and will help in whatever way they can. There is a free breakfast which will either be a banana toasty or an egg toasty (you get to choose), fruit salad (which could be a little better), and tea or coffee. The coffee is unfiltered and sludgy but it's really good quality. The breakfast is nothing to rave about, but considering that it's free and the cost to stay here is so low, it's amazing they can do this for you. The WiFi worked very well and our room was cool enough with just a fan. That fan is very good quality but needs to be positioned better. Only one thing to complain about and that is that there are not enough power outlets in the room, and it was the only place we stayed in Lombok which did not provide a powerboard to plug in more devices. That was inconvenient because we couldn't work and stay cool at the same time.

great price/performance rate”
First of all we appreciate the service of all staff, they were all helpful and kind people. Rooms were clean but the bed was really noisy. We chose the room with AC option that i really recommend, bcze i dont think fan would be enough. Shower was funny for me due to open roof bathroom. Even I had shower by nature under the rain once:)) I met one cockroach but it was even looking friendly. The garden in the middle area was so nice also, you can meet some neighbours also. Breakfast was weak as only toast but we had not much expectations already. It is a little out of the central Senggigi, so better to rent a motorbike, staff will help you. There is a beach close but not recommendable really. Well for 2 days homestay, we were glad enough of service, and cheap price. Thanks to all staff and kind owners also.

Exceptional”
Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Everyon speaks good english with good communication skills. The place is just offbthe main road, tucked away, 1 minute walk. If taking the bus from airport tell the driver "Ressa Homesaty" and he will drop u off at exactly the right spot! The only downside is that it is not in Senggigi, so if u wish to be there u need transport. I definitely reccomens this place

Clean but bit far from the main Senggigi Beach”
Very impressed with the service from the family who own Ressa Homestay. They were very friendly and more than accommodating. The owner took me on multiple trips to the internet cafe, the tourist shop and for a general cruise around the island. His wife also got up at 6am (an hour and a half before breakfast starts) to make me breakfast to take away with me as i was going on a tour that day. The rooms seem brand new, else they are just kept in very good condition. the shower is advertised as outdoors but the toilet is actually under cover and my private shower open air, in which i could shower in the sun, a lovely experience. Its a bit out of the way of the main town but it costs only a few pence to get there by public transport, although the owner was more than happy to take me.

Great and quiet place ”
This is lovely place with lovely family hosting. They serve breakfast (coffee, fruit and egg sandwich), rent motorbike and give very useful information about the island and its services. She told us the prices we should pay for transport so we were not charged as tourists. Helped us with food delivery when we arrived late in the night. Called the taxi to go to Mataram. Thank you for all your advices. Place is calm and relaxing with inside garden. Every room has a terrace for chilling. We took the room with cold water which was good for the weather in the island. Good location to stay near Senggigi beaches and near the city. Very recommended!!! :)

Nice and welcoming hosts”
Bula and his wife welcomed us really well, they helped us with everything we needed. It's not a big guest house and the surrounding is really quiet. The rooms are nice and the garden as well. It's a bit far from the center of Senggigi though, but you can rent a motorbike from the homestay. The rooms are cleaned every day. The breakfast is very good and included in the price of the room. If you want hot water and western toilet, you will need to pay a bit more.
