Our adult children stayed in the economy double rooms which provided the basics of a bed and a nice sized bathroom.

Amazing Place to Stay with a small "heads up"”
I can not truly speak highly enough of Retrome Barcelona. The place is clean and the staff could not be friendlier. The rooms are amazing! They have a restaurant/bar that has very good food and top notch drinks. This place is very mid-century modern, cool and hip, as was our room. My little heads up is that the photos on Agoda.com need to be updated. I chose this place because I wanted to stay someplace that looked truly like old-school Spain. The photos excited me, so I booked. It ends up this hotel has two separate areas. One area is very old, similar to the photos on this website and one is very new, hip and modern. Our room was in the new, hip, modern part and we loved it so much that I didn't want to ask about where the old, historic rooms that I saw online, might be. Upon a tour of the entire place, we learned there were two parts to this place - old and new. We happened to be roomed in the "New." This does not take away from the property and the fabulous service but when I saw the "Old", I immediately remembered THAT was what made me book this room, via Agoda. It is a bit deceiving. With all that said, please book a room at Retrome. You will not regret it!
Hola Jonathan, Thank you for your great review. As you wrote, we have our accommodation in 2 buildings. The rooms themselves are all individually decorated with mid-century style decoration. The difference is the public area. In one of the building, the public area is more influenced with the Catalan 19th century era of Gaudi, and the other building has the decoration of a late 1960s home. We hope to be able to welcome you again in the future, and you can indicate next time your preferred stay. Regards, Oren Retrome Barcelona
Great experience at Retrome Barcelona!”
We LOVED our stay at Retrome. Checking in with the Retrome Staff was a great welcome to Barcelona. They were friendly and helpful and offered us a free welcome drink. The space was as unique and cool as the pictures show. The location was great. Easy walk to most of the main attractions and easy access to public transit. All the ammenities were a nice perk. We hadn’t planned to spend much time in our room while in Barcelona but Retrome made it hard for us to want to leave sometimes!
Best experience in Europe ”
We took the late flight to Barcelona and arrived to Retrome Barcelona ard 1am when their front desk already closed. However they still asked Simone to wait for us and he was so kind showing me ard the apartment. Later in the moring i got the chance to meet really nice lady who helped me doin check-in and she also provided few tips for walking ard Barcelona. They were even nicer to help me reserve early taxi at the end of my trip. 10 points for all the staffs there! Ps their room was fantastic as well ;)
Dear Linh, Thank you for your great review, and for taking the time to share your good experience of Retrome Barcelona also with other travelers. It is nice to read that you enjoyed our service, and of course the room that you stayed. We hope to be able to welcome you again also in the future. Regards, Oren Retrome Barcelona
Surprise Trip ”
I planned a surprise trip for my parents and the Retrome was so much more than I had expected. As the name suggests, the soft furnishings and decor, reference the retro theme of the 50/60/70s with nouveau touches. But don't be fooled, there is nothing shabby or unintentionally old here! The staff were absolutely amazing. Before we arrived Kajsa was in contact with lots of helpful info. Upon arrival, we were served cava as Guillem (Apologies for the misspelling) knowledgeably recommended restaurants and points of interests. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Smart TVs, Memory Foam beds, private patios and rain showers make it hard to leave your little oasis. 24 hour access to the delicious espresso machine was the icing on the cake for tired travellers. It was such a shame our stay was so short. As far as the location was concerned, we easily walked everywhere. Most sights are within a 15 minute stroll of the Retrome. With so much to look at, it would be a shame to miss it while on public transport. However, the metro is at the end of the hotel's street if you'd prefer. There's a parking garage close by that offers a discounted rate if you prepay and show the hotel's business card. Otherwise it's about €34 for 24 hours. Food is abundant but Guillem's honest recommendations were perfect. We can't speak highly enough about our stay. Thank you so much Kajsa and Guillem!
A hidden treasure”
We have just stayed a week at the Retrome and we simply loved it. First we had a rather tiny room facing the street, which was quite loud (impossible to leave the window open during night), but then we kindly asked the girls from reception if maybe it was possible to get another room and we ended up having a wonderful room facing the patio. There we felt like home and slept like babies thanks to the quietness and fresh air (yes, there you can sleep with open windows!). So thank you very much for the favor, we appreciated it so much! The staff and the whole place is really great and we will probably stay there again on our next trip to Barcelona
Best hotel experience we ever had”
Great atmosphere, kind and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, amazing interior and lovely breakfast – what more can you ask for? Needless to say: We had a wonderful stay at Retrome Barcelona!
a hidden gem”
Our stay was excellent once we got past the fact that when the taxi arrived from the airport, there was no sign of the hotel (literally there is no sign). Even the driver thought we might have the address wrong, but the hotel name was on the front door buzzer. The Retrome occupies the 2nd floor of a multi-floor historic building and there is a small elevator as well as stairs. Our room was small, but clean, comfortable, and functional. Staff is available 9 to 9 and longer if a check in time requires it. There are no phones in the rooms and we only found Spanish TV. There is a nice common area with access to a refrigerator and coffee. We rarely encountered other guests although the hotel was full and our 2 couples could occupy the breakfast area like we were in one of our homes. The location is excellent with many places to eat or buy food (fruit, drinks, or baked goods) in the neighborhood and metro access at the end of the block. We had a street front room, but were not disturbed by noise.
Great small hotel”
My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights at Retrome Hotel and really enjoyed our stay The hotel has very friendly staff and has a very cosy feel thanks to it’s retro theme and daily events and tips of things to do - As we checked in, the staff took the time to take us through Barcelona’s top sites, tips on how to get around and things to look out for. The hotel is just a short walk from a train station, and also walking distance from some attractions such as Casa Mila and La Sagrada Familiar. Our room though small was comfortable, clean and had a nice bathroom – the hotel is very small with just few guests so it’s also pretty quiet as well. Great value for Money hotel - We had a nice stay here and would recommend it.
Really unique hotel in a great location. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommend Retrome!
Dear Andrew, Thank you for your nice review, and for sharing your good experience. We are happy that you enjoyed the personalized service of our staff, and we will forward them your warm words about them. It was a pleasure to host you, and we hope to see you again soon. Regards, Oren Retrome Barcelona
Fun retro hotel”
We stayed in the suite which was spacious with the bedroom area separated from a living room area wotj a couch and chairs that also included a mini kitchen. Our adult children stayed in the economy double rooms which provided the basics of a bed and a nice sized bathroom. All the rooms on each floor had a common entry lounge area with each room off of this area. The hotel was decorated with retro furniture and items from the 60-80s. The hotel was well kept up.... nothing "old" about the accommodations themselves. Location rating depends on what you want to see and do. Earlier in our trip we had stayed near the Sans Train Station because we were taking several train trips. This time we wanted to be closer to Gaudi's cathedral. The hotel has a small restaurant and bar. Drinks were reasonably priced and it was a comfortable place to hang out at the end of a day of exploring.
Hola Val, Thank you for this beautiful review. We are happy that you enjoyed your Studio, and of course the retro decoration. We can imagine that it was nice to stay in the center of the city with walking distance to most of the sightseeing attractions. It was a pleasure to host you in Barcelona, and we are looking forward to welcome you again. Regards, Oren Retrome Barcelona
The structure is a call to the vintage style; every single piece of the interior are accurately chosen and very well positioned. I was amazed entering in the main hall, surrounded from vintage collections. I will surely go back again on my next trip to Barcelona. Simply perfect for my journey
Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Apartment suite was a nice size. The kitchen facilities could have been better, there was no toaster, tumblers for drinks or good size cups for tea and coffee. We were given a complimentary breakfast which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, there was not a lot of choice to our taste but it was ok. Good housekeeping and towels changed several times during our weeks stay. Good location and easy to get around on foot or by underground. The only downside was the noise from the residents above until late at night so resulted to using ear plugs which resolved the situation. All in all a nice place to stay and explore the beautiful city of Barcelona
this small boutique hotel was perfect for our needs. it was within quick walking distance to everything we wanted to see with a metro station close by as well. Breakfast was an assortment of meats, cheeses, waffles, fruits etc and was hearty for sure. check in was super easy. i would definitely stay here again!
Nice place to stay at the heart of BCN”
Very nice vibe, friendly staff, good breakfast, very central location and easy access to everywhere of Barcelona. Great choice if you would like to discover the city
Best hotel during our trip”
My friend and I spent two nights here, and it was our best hotel during the 8-day-long trip in Spain. The decoration style was lovely both in the hall and in the room. The size of the room was bigger than expected and the bath room was clean and bright. Location was also great. It's 2mins from metro station "Girona", and a walkable distance from Gracia Avenue and Palau de la Música Catalana. We walked to Casa Mira, Casa Batllo. Last but not least, the staff here were very friendly and helpful. You can go for their help anytime. They will say hello to you warmly every time they meet you, and ask you if you need and coffee or water. They also helped us to call a taxi on the street when we left. It was a great place, and I will recommend it to my friends.
Clean, quiet, nice, center location”
very clean, center location, quiet in the night, nothing to complain. good choice in Barcelona.
Loved it here! ”
We stayed in the vintage double room and loved it! The whole place is beautifully decked out with retro stylings, but it’s still cool and modern. The room was clean and had a great vibe- and the balcony was awesome. Staff are very friendly and helpful- and the location, superb. We were surprised at the low price of the rooms compared to the area- this was excellent value for money. The only downside for us was their very patchy wifi. They have multiple connections but none were very reliable. All in all though, we loved the place and definitely recommend!
Lovely design of the hotel rooms and very friendly staff but need improvement In Emergency”
Room is chic and designed in retro style. Love the tiles. We stayed in a triple room with a balcony. Bathroom is a bit dark and the shower is a bit slippery. Stayed 4nights but cleaner only emptied the bin in the room in the first day. There was a power cut on the first night after 11pm when the reception is closed. We called the emergency number posted on the door but no one picked up. We rang for about 30mins still in vail. Luckily a gentleman in the next room managed to reset the power as he was also very fed up. We complained the next day but no one got back to us on why that happened not until I asked on the day after. Was quite disappointed with this whole incident. Hotel needs better response to emergency situation. However, the girl at the reception was really helpful. Breakfast was really good and the guy at the bar made excellent coffee! He even remembered our names and what we ordered. I would say the hardware of the hotel is superb but need some upgrade on 'software'.
wonderful location and excellent service~”
the location is really wonderful and Cora is very nice~it is an excellent experience to live here in Barcelona~
Very cool hotel!”
It was super cool, clean and nice. We had a family room with a kitchenette and a big balcony with a nice view. Staff is very helpful and friendly, also we had a special request made, when we booked this hotel, and its very cool, that they actually read this special request box. Definitely reccomend this hotel, and if i go to Bcn again i will come back to this hotel
