Amazing location but mozzies!”
Amazingly close to the Chang Phuak gate which meant easy transport to out of town places such as Doi Suthep. Also means close proximity to the markets at night which meant great food options every night. Place was clean however rooms were small and place had quite a few mozzies. Staff were helpful however some were hard to understand and spoke broken English. Otherwise would definitely recommend staying, particularly for the location
Lovely place lovely staff”
We loved it here. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The rooms were nice and a good size. We used the pool every day and was great to be able to unwind and relax at the pool. We would definitely stay here again.
Better than expected. We were all very happy. ”
Didn't want to leave. Felt very homely. Exceeded expectations. The name rich is what it is but in a good way. The owners care , and put a lot into making this a fine guesthouse. Good breakfast also. The pool side was under maintenance but could still take a dip. Didn't worry me.
Great boutique hotel”
We had a great stay here with a very clean comfortable room with a great buffet breakfast. We liked the lanna heritage style of the hotel and the attention to detail. Our only comment is that the bottom level room we had was quite small
A lovely place”
This place was really nice. Despite the small room size it has a homely feel to it and the best shower I've used in Asia. A great place for couples or older travellers. Scooter hire and markets close by. Great breakfast and coffee. Pool was nice and relaxing. Staff are polite and helpful.
Home away from home”
It was a pleasant stay. We were given a complimentary cake which taste really good! The room is clean and very comfortable. The only downside is that the swimming pool is very small so it's more for just relaxing in the water with the hot weather.
A great hotel”
The hotel is in a great location and the service is great. The only downside is the that the room is rather small and they don't have elevator in the building. This made climbing up to the four floor while carrying my daughter a rather difficulty task.
Centrally located & beautifully designed hotel”
The staff were very friendly, the location was very convenient, the breakfast was not extravagant, but it had a good selection of fresh fruits and baked goods and their fresh made coffee was excellent, our room was very well-designed and spacious. The Rich Lanna House offered everything that we were looking for.
I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. The location is very good, close to Thapae Gate. I always go chilling at Ginger cafe(i guess the best cafe in Chiang Mai) which is only about 5 mins walk. The staff is nice, careful and considerate. The standard is a bit small, i recommend people book the larger size room as the price is not very expensive.
beautiful clean hotel”
This hotel is new decorated and very clean with a small swimming pool. It's very comfortable to have a rest besides the pool after one-day walking. The hotel is small with 4 floors and without elevator. All the staff are very nice and helpful. There is a 7-11 minimart near it which bring much convenience. However, it's a little far away from the center of old city, about 15 minutes' walk.
Very nice and clean hotel”
Hotel located at the outer ring of the old town, but it was never too noisy. Rooms and bed were really comfortable. Bathroom always clean. Breakfast was mixture of thai and international style. Staff was extraordinary friendly and helpful
Two night visit to Chang Mai”
Good location and nice people. Loved the whole Thai-look of what appeared to be an old Thai Mansion converted to room rentals, particularly the pool. However, we had 2 large cockroaches in our room, which we found out was par for the course, given the whole wood structure. The staff speaks little English. All in all, I’d return, Raid in hand!
Jackie From LA”
Love this hotel! This was our second stay, and it was great. The staff are wonderful, and the location is perfect. would highly recommend to anyone staying in Chiangmai.
Peaceful and spacious”
Rich Lanna is a lovely small hotel: quiet, nicely decorated, large rooms, and a glorious pool. Breakfast has a decent array of options. Staff are helpful.
Homely if you like a more personal touch”
Pros: location is central, easy walking distance to places around the Old Town Small, only 14 suites Staff are great, only too happy to assist at all times Cons: needs a bit of maintenance, particularly repainting and nailing on the pool deck Rated as 3 stars, I would say 3.5 but lovely for people who don’t like large resorts
Quaint little hotel”
I loved our stay in Chiang Mai and at the Rich Lanna House. The hotel almost feels like a modern Thai bed and breakfast. Very cute and quaint. The only slight downside was the location on the river, it attracted a lot of mosquitos and made it undesirable to swim in the pool at night, but the location was also close to downtown and near a lot of cool restaurants and shops so walking around during the day was perfect. I'd just recommend getting a tuk tuk ride home at night.
Lovely and quaint. A great location and fabulous staff.”
The Rich Lanna House is a wonderfully quaint hotel in Chiang Mai. It is decorated to soothe and make you feel at home, and we did. The staff is very helpful, cheerful and welcoming. The location is just right for exploring and surrounded by many, many very good and charming restaurants and coffee houses. My sister, daughter and I were cozy and comfortable for five days and would highly recommend this jewel.
Great Location and traditional feel”
We stayed at the guesthouse for three nights. We really liked the location and the free bikes. The bikes were in more than a poor state but great do get around. Breakfast was very good and hey even packed us a snack for our last day when we had to miss breakfast. The room was small but had everything we needed. There was quite a huge amount of mold in the shower and only one head worked. The water outlet at the sink was wiggling around and the towel rack was falling apart. The bed was very nice and comfortable. The pool is beautiful but very chilly at the time we were there. We liked the free water and the room was always kept quite clean. It was right on the staircase and therefore really noisy since everyone was walking past. I think we would stay again because it was traditional and the price was good for what we got. If they renovate a little it can become quite great!
Great place with lots of character!”
The staff were very helpful with advice, calling taxis, giving us a to-go breakfast since we had to head to the airport too early for their hotel breakfast. My 6 year old daughter loved using the pool. We loved our little oasis in the city. There’s a little travel excursion shop a short walk down the road we used to plan a zipline trip and a elephant sanctuary trip which we loved.
Nice Place to stay !”
The place is very cute, the staff is so nice and always smiling. The room and building are very clean. However the room is a little bit small you can hear people walking or talking when they are close to the room. Overall experience : Very satisfied !!
