On Lamai Beach, the Rich Beachside Hotel features a bar(Swing Bar) which boasts scenic views of the ocean and a simple but nice décor. This place is easy access to shopping, dining, massage palours and entertainment spots. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and the beach bar. Rooms are big and clean and feature cable TV, a fridge and a personal safe. They are fitted with ample storage space, a vanity table and private bathroom offering hot shower facilities(Bath Foam and Shampoo). The Beachside Hotel is a 5-minute walk from the centre of Lamai. It takes a 20-minute drive from the hotel to Samui Airport. The popular Grandfather and Grandmother stone is about 1.5 km from the hotel. The tour desk helps guests organise excursions and island tours. Alternatively, make the most of the tropical weather and relax on the many lounge chairs located on the beach(free usage for guest of the hotel and bar). Thai and European dishes are served at the Swing Bar Beach Restaurant. It also has pool tables and free Wi-Fi usage is good. Sports fans can watch the latest sporting events on the restaurant’s flat-screen TV. We also enjoy fire show on the beach. Good thing about the Bar is staff speak english. A Very enjoyable stay for me and my friends. Thank you Mr. Adrain one of the owner that arrange everything in a nice way and buying us shot on welcoming us the the Swing Bar and hotel. Great one !!!

Perfect hotel for a alcohol fuelled weekend”
I stayed at teh Rich resort before and enjoyed my stay. On my way back from Koh Pangyang before going on to Bangkok I stayed again in Koh Samui at the famous Rich Resort. This time they upgraded me for free,(maybe cause it was November and not a very busy period) which was great. I have to say all the staff were relaly fun and more than welcome to help. There is a swing bar oppostie which is part of the the Rich Resort, great place to drink and chill out. All in all I would recommend Rich resort, you get what you pay for in term of room, but still clean and comfortable.

It was a pleasure to stay at Rich Resort Beachside hotel.From really good restaurant with a variety of western and thai food,hotel that is close to the beach and to the center od lamai,with friendly staff trying to help you with everything you need with lots of brochures and information about tours and trips on koh samui.

Great value for money and excellent location”
We stayed at Rich Resort and had an excellent time. The hotel was right near the beach and walking distance to all the shopping and amenities in Lamai. The reception were very helpful and the room was decent for the price with a safe and minibar. Overall good experience!

Good for the price”
Rich resort is located in Lamai the quiet part of Koh Samui. Its on the beachfront which is handy and has a bar and restaurant attached to it. Prices are decent unless you drink there at night in which case the prices go up for some reason. Food was pretty bland too we ate on the main strip a lot as cheaper and better quality. Rooms were vey big and comfy however fan is in an awkward place so it can get quite hot at night. Shower is hot and powerful and rooms are cleaned daily with free water shampoo etc. safe in provided in the rooms for added security. The wifi isnt great and disconnects a lot an the front desk staff are half hearted. We would reccomend but only for peace and quiet on the beachfront!

i really think that i found a nice hotel in koh samui. there are big benefit for stay there. location is along a beach,near by center of lamai as well. it was convenience for everything what i want .staying on the beach,for shopping, for enjoying a night life and more. especially,the staff is so kindly of me,always friendly. this is like a second house in thai. thank you so much!

Great location ”
We stayed here for 4 days 3 nights, the hotel receptionists are very friendly and informative. And I like this hotel so much is becoz its very near the beach side, and they have their own restaurant just in front of the beach side . But the only 1 thing 1 not so happy on it , is maybe its too near the beach side so sometimes the room will s abit smelly...But the room is very clean, as I saw their house keeping is clean the place often. And I suggest to have the Wifi service in each room also. Anyway, I think I'll stay this hotel again if I go Koh Samui again.

great place to be - nice staff - excellent rooms”
stayed at rich resort in november for 1 night. the room was nice and clean, shower could of been a little bit better but enough to have a quick wash. the staff were very friendly and happy to help. i liked the fact the resort had a bar acorss the road which was a pretty cool place to relax which also over looked the beach and offered free space to sunbath. ended up booking the same hotel on my return, this time they upgraded me for free. will stay at rich resort again, great vaule for money.

nice hotel in awesome location”
rich resort is a basic hotel but it has a great location. right across from the swing bar which overlooks the beach. you get free sunchairs and swing bar is also lovely at night. (party on friday nights)its located on lamia beach, which is also one of the best beaches on koh samui. the staff are so friendly and helpful. there are some great rsturants around the hotel aswell. enjoy your stay

Great location, great staff, great holiday”
As a couple travelling around Thailand for 2 months, and with a budget of Baht per night, Rich Resort was very good value and has been amongst the best hotels we stayed at during our holiday. We stayed in a standard air-con room, and originally booked for 3 nights and extended our stay to 7 without any problem. Any minor problems during our stay we quickly, efficiently rectified - and always with a smile.

Not one to be missed”
We really enjoyed Rich Resort. It is a budget hotel with basic facilities but the rooms were cleaned every day, bedding changed every day and soap/shampoo/body wash provided in wall mounted dispensers. No views but great service. Tours/transfers and onward travel can be arranged via Reception staff. I would defiantly stay here again.

The resort is in a perfect location,down the stairs and you are on one of the cleanest beaches in Samui,yet 150 metres in the other direction and you are in the centre of Lamais shopping,restaurant and nightliffe district,not to mention the staff at the resort and their willingness to accommodate you .

Budget hotel by the beach”
This is a budget hotel and my room was average, however I did see some nicer rooms there. Apart from guests being noisy in the corridor, my stay was pleasant and the staff were very helpful,for example my air-conditioner broke down at about 9 pm and they made sure that it was repaired, very pleasing. The car park is small, it carters ,more for scooters. It is a pleasant area to stay and I would stay at the Rich Resort again.

You pay 5USD for a basic dorm. They provide you with a towel and you have a lock to lock your dorm. You are located right on Lamai beach and have access to a pool. Can't really ask for more for the price honestly. Only thing missing would be a common area. My only con (and it isn't related to the hostel per say) is the restaurant attached to it. Prices are way to high for what you get. The owner is an absolute jerk. Expects everyone from the hostel to eat at his place. He was so rude to my friend and I. Since there are no common area, we thought we could sit there without purchasing anything (since it's linked to the dorms) . He was extremely rude when he was speaking to us. We genuinely didn't know, but his approach was absolutely ridiculous. Thinks he runs Lamai or something.

Great and friendly staff”
we travelled on motorbikes from malaysia and arrived @ rich resort late around 9pm... our rooms were given to other tenants but they up-graded our rooms to deluxe suite which made us smile till we checked out.. friendly staff and the night market with abundance of food offered just a 5-minute walk.. would certainly recommend this resort to friends.. two thumbs up...

Rich resort is excellent. Great location steps from the beach. Very quiet and clean. To top it all off I left my wallet in the room and wasn't able to return for 6 days. When I did return the wallet was waiting for me with everything still in it.

Great location and helpful staff”
Rich Resort has the perfect location of being right on the beach and only a five minute walk from all the buzzing restaurants and bars of the resort. Staff were really helpful in organising onward travel, laundry etc and the free sun loungers were wonderful.

Large Budget Room steps from the beach”
You get what you pay for, folks. I paid more than I should have on Agoda considering the age of the room - it is pretty old. The washroom was awful with a shower head that spit water all over the washroom but barely touched the person showering. There are lists of rules and fines all over the room - not very welcoming. A few sports channels and 1 fuzzy movie channel on the tele (but I wasn't here for the TV!). No kettle or hair drier - even upon request. 1 star is 1 star, I guess, and Samui is a little on the pricey side in high season. The good: the stretch of beach across from the hotel is arguably the best on all of Samui. We loved lounging there and eating at Swing Bar (cheap and decent food) and Bikini ( a few doors down with great prices and great American food - try the wings!). 5 minutes in the opposite direction gets you to the main road filled with great restaurants and coffee shops (we loved Uncle Don's Ice Cream and Let Them Drink for pool and drinks). There are also numerous massage shops, girlie bars, and shopping haunts along this road. It offered everything we needed without being overdone (Chaweng is fun but a bit too much for us in our late 30s). With a minimal effort and investment Rich Resort could be one of the best guesthouses out there, but as is I am afraid that I would not stay there again despite all of the aforementioned positive attributes related to its fabulous location. If you are not picky and can get a deal go for it!
