Review summary

Powered by OpenAI

Asakusa's prime location hotel near Senso-ji temple and Kaminarimon Gate is a comfortable and enjoyable stay with friendly, professional staff always ready to assist. Spacious and clean rooms feature queen-sized beds, a well-equipped bathroom with bath salts, and self-service laundry facilities. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money.

Communication issues arise with some staff members due to a language barrier. Unpleasant smells from toilets and outdated room decors in some rooms are a few areas of improvement.

“We enjoyed our stay at Richmond Hotel”

Overall: I would rate it 8.8 to 8.9 on a 1-10 scale. We enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Richmond Hotel in Asakusa. Location: The hotel is conveniently located next to the Asakusa Shrine and the shopping area; there are a lot of restaurants in the area; there is a UniQlo next door and a donki hote is also located nearby. You can do all your tax-free shopping in the neighborhood and be done with it in one setting. There are 4 train stations within a 10-minute walk. The Tsukuba Express line Asakusa station is literally 3 minutes walk from the hotel, the Ginza line and the Asakusa line station is about 10 minutes walk. You can take the Asakusa line directly to the Haneda airport without changing trains; very convenient in fact. There is also another train station in the area where you can take the train to the hotel after visiting the Skytree tower. The staff: Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and eager to help. All the frontdesk staff speak fluent English; we had no problem getting our messages across. The room: good size; we can put 2 large suitcases out and there is still room to walk around. The bathroom is also in good size and very clean; it features a bathtub with powerful hot water coming out from the showerhead. I enjoyed the hot shower both in the morning and at night. I also like the washing sink a lot because it is deep enough that water will not spill over easily. The hotel also provides bottled water to guests during their stay which's a nice gesture. The breakfast: Our room rate did not include breakfast so I could not tell if the breakfast was good. We would love to stay at the Richmond hotel again or try the Richmond Primer hotel next door the next time we visit Tokyo as it offers a lot of convenience to visitors.

“One of the Best-Located Hotels I’ve Stayed At”

We had a great stay at Richmond Hotel Asakusa. All the staff were courteous and accommodating, and the hotel offered all the standard amenities you’d need while in Japan. The room was clean and quite spacious—an important plus if you’re planning (and likely will be) to do some shopping. The real highlight, though, is the hotel’s location. It’s close to both the train and bus stations. Uniqlo and Fuglen are right next door, Don Quijote is just a block away, and Senso-ji Temple along with Nakamise-dori Shopping Street are only a few minutes on foot. All those must-visit stalls and shops in Asakusa that you’ve seen on social media are just a short walk away. I couldn’t ask for a better neighborhood or hotel to stay in.

“Comfortable Stay Steps from Senso-ji Temple”

Great location—close to Senso-ji Temple with easy access to many restaurants and shops. There’s a Uniqlo directly across from the hotel, which is very convenient if you’re packing light. The hotel is clean, and the staff are very helpful. They provide a full range of toiletries, from toothbrushes to face wash, and even offer bath salts—perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking..

    “Amazing Hotel”

Great staff. The hotel was clean (little dusty but overall well presented). The room was fantastic and we had a very pleasant few days in Asakusa. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the metro if you're taking the 24 hour to the 72-hour metro pass to get to the ginza line and explore the rest of tokyo. Nonetheless a great place to be in tokyo
