Richmond Hotel Fukuoka Tenjin”
I was pleasantly surprised staying at Richmond Hotel Fukuoka Tenjin. Its location is great, besides major department stores, shops, convenience stores, and restaurants. It is also close to the subway. What surprised me is that they provide a smart phone with LTE/4G mobile data on loan while your checked in at the hotel. It allows you to search for things while on the go, use google maps, make unlimited calls (to certain countries), and even post and upload photos on your social media. I would definitely stay here again, if I happen to be in Fukuoka!

Weekend Shopping Spree in Fukuoka”
I stayed in Richmond with a friend of mine and we were in Fukuoka for a shopping trip. The location of the hotel was great, really close (it takes us about 5-8 minutes) to the central shopping centre and around 6-7 minutes to the Tenjin Bus Station. Aside of that, the amenities of the hotel is also fantastic. The only thing I would complain is probably shower cap and a softer pillow. The staffs were great, they spoke English very well, lets us change our pillow for the softer ones. They let us borrow the hotel umbrellas during our stay since it was rather rainy. As for breakfast, I wouldn't really recommend it. Variety wise, not that good but for taste not so bad. However with a cost of about 1000 JPY / head, I would recommend to just try eating in a nearby restaurant. The hotel is also really close to a mini market called Sun 'R' Us and also close to Starbucks. Restaurants is also pretty close to the hotel. All in all, I believe it was a fantastic experience for me and I would recommend people to stay there. I am in fact planning for another stay at Richmond in near time.

Location is convenient, good for families ”
Richmond Hotel is conveniently located. While not walking distance from Hakata Station, it is a short drive away by taxi (Y800~). It is close to shopping malls. Our room has 2 queen beds, large enough for a family of 5 (kids ages 10,7,4). I informed the hotel in advance about my kids thru email and I was given kids' amenities upon arrival. Staff was helpful and can speak good English. They contacted Yamato transport when one of my luggage failed to arrive. Buffet breakfast is basic but reasonably priced. Will stay at Richmonde if ever I will visit Fukuoka again.

Nice room and convenient location.”
The moderate room is spacious and clean. The bed and room itself were pretty big for Japanese standards and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located, in the Tenjin shopping district of Fukuoka, within a 5 minute walk to Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station. The only minor issues were that the hotel faces one of the main roads in Fukuoka so traffic noise can cause a disturbance, even though you are staying on a high floor. The front desk staff were polite, but as usual, need to be trained and educated about who they are supposed to require a copy of a passport from. The rule is only non-resident foreigners are supposed to present their passports to the hotel. But just by looking at me, the first question they almost always ask in me English me, May I have your passport? I then have to explain that I live in Japan, so I don't need to present a passport to them. They just assume that me not looking Japanese or not presenting reservation information in Japanese that I don't live in Japan.

Excellent hotel”
Perfectly located in Tenjin with 1 min. walk to the underground street and 2 min. walk to Mitsukoshi. Helpful staff. The breakfast is good but you can skip as it’s very easy to find good food around. The size of my double bed room is not bad when compared with the same room type of other hotels in Japan. Will definitely book Richmond again in my next trip to Fukuoka. Highly recommended.

Perfect Location”
Richmond Hotel is in a quite location, yet a few steps away from the shopping areas of Tenjin and the Fukuoka Train Station. That's why location-wise, this is an excellent hotel for me. But room-size is typically Japanese, small and challenging. Staff is helpful but not quite good in English so communication is a bit difficult. Breakfast is not included in our room rate so I cannot judge the food. But the restaurant looks good and serves Italian food during the day.

Great hotel in a convenient location”
Richmond Hotel is located right next to the Loft and diagonally opposite from Daimaru (also close to the subway), so it is really easy to find. The service staff is really nice and polite, and upon check-in, they will offer a range of nice amenities from which you can choose from. My kids really enjoyed the bath salts they gave us. The room is really big for Japanese standards - a separate luggage area, a sofa, desk, etc. My kids are two and five and we all fit very comfortably. The hotel is so accommodating to children. When we stayed in the Dormy Inn, they nickeled and dimed us for everything for the kids, but Richmond provided full sets of yukatas, washing sponges, kids' toothbrushes, etc. for free. The room was also clean with nice furniture. If you have small children, this is definitely a good choice. You can easily walk to Hakata and Canal City and there are lots of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Daimaru has a huge supermarket on its B2 level, so if the kids are cranky, you can buy food and eat it in the hotel room instead of going to a restaurant.

Nice, clean and with almost everything you need fo”
we stayed richmond hotel fukuoka for 4 days last week. the staffs are extremely helpful and polite. the room was a little bit small, but that's how we expected anyway. few minutes walking distance to shopping malls and subway stations. half a minute to grocery store. i have no complaint at all and definitely will go back there. but if really have to say something, setting up a gym is definitely a good idea.

Good location with very helpful staff!”
The room was clean. Toiletries in the bathroom in case you forgot something. Friendly and very helpful staff. Vending machine by the bathroom in the lobby - cheaper than outside the hotel! My favorite part was the wireless Internet access available in the room. The hotel is in an excellent location and walkable to Canal City in addition to the Tenjin area. International ATM is located nearby in the underground mall by the hotel. Maps are available at the front desk of the area. If we ever make it back to Fukuoka we will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel for both business ans leisure”
This hotel is located at the shopping area of Tenjin. There are several department stores (Mitsukoshi, Daimaru, Parco) within walking distance. So we were able to go back and forth to drop off our gifts and take rests. Our room is relatively spacious compared to other hotels in Japan we have stayed before. It also has a big flat screen TV which we enjoyed watching very much. There is also a coin laundry on the 8th floor. This hotel has everything we need. We would definitely stay here again for our next trip to Fukuoka.

Spacious room, convenient location, good service & facilities”
* Convenient location, with everything you need nearby. More cost-effective to take the airport bus directly to Nishitetsu Tenjin Express Bus Terminal. Though it takes 8 to10-min walk from Tenjin Subway Station to hotel, it takes only 5-min walk from Nishitetsu Tenjin Station and Nishitetsu Tenjin Express Bus Terminal, located in the Solaria Terminal Building connecting to Fukuoka Mitsukoshi's 3rd Floor. There are also Direct Express Buses to Tosu Premium Outlet, Yufuin, Beppu and many other destinations. From the hotel to Hakata JR Station, there are local buses for only 100 yen if you don’t use the Fukuoka Tourist City Day Pass. * Twin room is spacious, clean & quiet. * Staff were friendly with very good service. Though their English is fair, there are Mandarin-speaking staff as well. * Breakfast coupons can be bought on-site at 1,000 yen each in the morning so it would be very flexible for guests. Buffet breakfast has good value for money.

A Comfortable Place in Tenjin”
I only stayed one night at the Richmond Hotel, but it was a pleasant stay. It was the largest room I had in three cities in Japan, and all the amenities were fine. The bed was comfy, the shower was strong and hot, and the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was adequate. I didn't spend too much time in the hotel, but if I'm back in Fukuoka, I'll probably stay again.

Excellent Business Hotel”
i travel alone to fukuoka to have an important meeting. the hotel location is very good. just at the south end of tenjin subway underground walk, although quite a walk from the station. the room has good size and was very clean. the best thing about this hotel has to be the frontdesk. employees were very helpful and speak good english. that's the most important thing for non-japanese speaker like me. they recommended really good restaurants and even went out of their way to help me find local souvenirs i would really like to have.

One of the best stays in Japan”
The hotel is in a great location (10-15mins walk from Tenjin station). Bus station is also close to the hotel so you can travel to different parts of the city easily. The staff are nice and communicable with English. The room is just standard size in Japan but it's clean and comfortable to stay in. We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we happen to come to Fukuoka.

Swift check-in/out with friendly staff”
We planned a 5nights/4days trip to Fukuoka with our 3yr old and hotel hopped at three hotels; and I'd say Richmond was one of the best! It was the only hotel that offered kids amenities (including slippers which my toddler loved). The check-in was swift and location was great! It has easy access to the subway stations with escalators. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Extremely friendly staff, great location”
We enjoyed our one night at the Richmond. Our room was larger than in most Japanese hotels - we had a corner room. The staff members were typically friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for sightseeing, shopping and restaurants as well as access to both Hakata and Tenjin stations. The breakfast buffet was fine.

Well Located Hotel - Nearer to Nishitetsu Fukuoka”
You will never run out of places to shop in Tenjin with Loft just next to the hotel and the Tenjin Underground Mall a mere 5 minutes away. There is a Matsumoto Kiyoshi when you come down the stairs from Richmond Hotel and numerous malls are connected to the underground pedestrain walkway. Mitsukoshi, Solaria Stage, Solaria Plaza, Daimaru, Tenjin Core, Tenjin Verve are some of the malls that you can access from the underground mall. Most of these malls and shops close at 8pm and you can head to Bic Camera which closes slightly later. There is a Lawson convenience store if you are returning to the hotel via the underground mall. Another small convenience store is also along the same street as Loft and there is a large 7-11 across the street from the hotel. If you are headed to Tosu Premium Outlet, you can take the Nishitetsu Line which is the line closest to the hotel. Alight at Ogori Station and there is a bus that brings you to the Tosu Premium Outlet. The beds in the hotel are comfortable and each room has a air humidifier which is thoughtful. I would love the hotel to have more staff speaking English as communication can be challenging at times.
