That's amazing place”
I cannot even find something negative about this place. Stuff is super friendly, the place is amazing! There are a lot of nature and beauty on each meter of this perfect island. Everyday they have something interesting like dinner in traditional clothes, or BBQ on small island nearby, or greeting sunset with cocktails et cetera. They even have sports as kayaking, wakeboarding, water skiing and all is included. I wish I stayed there for longer. I felt like I was threatened as family member there.
One of the Best Lagoons in Maldives”
Resort is a 50 min bumpy speedboat ride from Male airport. Very private. Rooms need to be renovated though (80s look, no aircon) and I really disliked the bathroom design. No wifi except in reception and bar. There's no swimming pool either, but you won't need it being in one of the best and cleanest natural lagoons I've ever seen. They have resident Mantas and a big family of Nurse Sharks that you can snorkel with (near staff house). Also very close to a pod of resident dolphins who live just outside the lagoon. Service is not 5 star, and they kinda messed up our transfers. Prices are decent for Maldivian standards. Mostly European (70% French) clientele.
The resort is considered a no news, no shoes resort. A bit rustic, no air conditioning, no t.v., but a wonderful place to feel as though you are on a deserted island hideaway. Many travellers there have been returning for 25+ years! The food is amazing, really well done, predominantly French and European fare, and two nights a week the entire dinner service is on the beach, white table cloths, and all. It’s very safe, and most people sleep with their cabin doors open, allowing the balmy breezes to waft in over night. By far, Rihiveli was the best two weeks I have ever spent on holiday!
Away from the rest of the world”
Rihiveli is unique. Its atmosphere is different than in the other islands. No luxury here. Laidback, informal, kind of community feeling. The lagoon and its 3 islands is beautiful.. Nice sand banks. but no snorkeling. Need to go on the daily trips. The resort island is quite big, we can go for a digestion walk after a good diner at the buffet. Rooms are basic yet nice looking. They are not meant to spend time inside. In Rihiveli, you live outside. We enjoyed to sit on our terrace at night and enjoy the peace of the place. Spa venue is basic but I recommend massage at night time. You can hear the nature (birds, waves...) from the massage table while guests are not at the restaurant yet. The masseuse was very good. Went there for the first 4 nights of our honeymoon.
Excellent location, Complimentary Snorkeling activity was excellent. Saw dolphins near the hotel. ”
Pro No TV, no phone, no wifi in the room, absolute serenity resulting into serendipity. Con Had to walk to find three pin electrical adopter for charging..And also to bring drinking water from the bar once the given water is consumed.
It was my 3rd visit to Rihiveli and it is still as beautiful as always. One of the biggest lagoons in the Maldives which is abundant with marine life, sting rays, sharks, dolphins, turtles. The restaurant is fabulous built out over the water and their is a huge variety of food. Staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel very special throughout your stay. We love Rihiveli, paradise on earth!
We had an amazing time and an enjoyable experience at Rihiveli. The place is so tranquil and peaceful. The sea and beaches are clean, beautiful and unspoilt. The staff are friendly. They try to assist guests when they look for soemthing. The water sports facilities and day trip excursion are very good too. They are free of charged. The bar restaurants make very good foods according to a la carte menu. The only slight thing which we think could be improved, is at the main restaurant. When we had our buffet breakfast one day in the morning. The only chef who made omlette, did not give first come first serve to guests. He forgot who ordered what, so we waited very long time and decided to give up our order of omlette at the end. We suggest there should be a waiting list here so every guest can get what he ordered for, according to the queue. Finally, we had a fabulous time at Rihiveli and would love to go back again soon. We love the nature there!
The island is enchanting and the Rihiveli team really makes your stay that much more enjoyable. The variety of water sports will keep you busy through out the day, or you can just take walks around the island and take in the breathtaking view. A day trip to the local islands or a picnic on a nearby sandbank will make your trip too. We highly recommend upgrading to full board, food is fantastic, especially their BBQ. You can buy banana boat SPF110 sunscreens and Aloe aftersun cream at the Male airport pharmacy.
it's not too bad but overpriced a lot”
some people would like it... however who have been to several resort aroud it might think it would be expensive and old room.. breakfast was great and staff were all friendly.. but room is too old and overpriced.... if i have a chance to go again may not.....
We absolutely loved Rihiveli! It's a stunning place with wonderful surrounding area. Snorkelling is great and food served at the restaurant is delicious. All the kitchen and waiting staff are chatty, nice and smiley. Snorkelling team could try to be a bit more friendly... The bungalows are well maintained and clean. Sunrise side of the island is probably better than the sunset side as some bungalows seem to be further away from the beach than the others. Definitely recommended, we have great memories! :)
A great little paradise”
Rihiveli is a small paradise island. The transport from and to the airport with speedboat was well organized, on time and takes about 50 minutes. The island has beautiful beaches and great water sport activities (snorkeling, kajak, etc.). There is no extra charges for the snorkeling trips to different reefs or when using the sport equipment, which is very good. The staff is very friendly and ready to help - and always with a smile. The food is good - and the buffet dining is great with a beautiful beach location. Breakfast is very good with a good selection of food as well. Prices in the restaurant/bar are reasonable, with most dishes at approx USD 15. Good value. The bungalow is cosy and simple - directly to the beach. Rihiveli offers free Internet in the bar/restaurant/reception, which is fine. We stayed 4 nights - a great break from a busy daily life in Singapore - and are looking forward to coming back to Rihiveli sometime soon!:)
Definition of paradise”
Visited in our honeymoon for 6 nights. Everything about this place is right. Gorgeous island, confortable and nice rooms with great bathroom, included activities... and the food!!! Staff goes beyond duty to make your experience memorable. Thank you all and specially to our friend Anton!!! Hope we can visit again.
Cost over double to add a person to the room. Should of been only $200 to add one other person. ”
To much to add a person. At over $600 a day for two people the price was crazy. Hundreds of other places for much less and better services. You could take a high tier cruise for a basic room and food charged for this place.
great option expecially for couples”
Awesome lagoon, with awesome colors and incredible detached islands with great sand bank. Wonderful pictures all around
The resort is not very well maintained. Buffet at the restaurant is not good like in 2016. Out of 4 beer brands only was is available at the bar. Anyway Overall the management team is fine.
3rd time there”
