Lovely views but needs some tender loving care”
We booked Rimlay Billas for a one night stay before travelling to Krabi airport and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the accomodation which was a one bedroom semi detached room overlooking the garden and sea, with shower and toilet. Everything is just a bit shabby especially the sunbeds which are dirty and the plastics mattress that you lay on is all cracked. The swimming pool needs a good clean as do chairs on the balconys. The restaurant is not open as they are upgrading it but I don't know how long this has been for. I was also disappointed as I had read somewhere that if you had an early departure they would make you up something for breakfast but when I asked the manager he just said no we don't do that. It could be such a lovely place if only somebody took some pride in how it looks.

Recommend to stay”
We would recommend to stay here, amazing views from the window-palms and sea, very quiet, we had pool all for ourselves. There is a family of very cute small kittens living there, feels like you staying in your grandmother :) The minuses is in cleanliness- there is a smell of mould, because curtains are mouldy. Also the sea is very muddy here, no one is swimming here, as the river is near, but there is a pier with a walking distance, so you can easily reach other beaches.

Dong go here”
We stayed here with two small kids. It is complex of 14 small villas - only one small room an bathroom inside, but it does the job done. They have swimming pool and really nice view to the sea. That is more less all from good things. Manager is extremely unfriendly. It is in the middle of no where, DONT go if you dont have own car or bike. Only walking to nearest supermarket is 10min, on road with traffic on the 35C heat. They write that they have free transport to Ao Nang, but is not true - NO transport at all without any explanation. I was told, that here is a bus on the road, and here should be no problem, but here is problem, as you have to wait for it on sun up tu 10-15min with kids. Breakfast eatable, but worth money. No self service, just order one dish. No refills, even no coffee refills. Orange just (you get one glass of it) is made from syrup! Yes, in Thailand just from syrup - undrinkable. Pool is nice, not big but ok, but totally dirty, if you touch a wall of pool you get black. Sunbeds a so old, that needs to be changes a year ago. Seems that no body cares about service, quality and this place - so why we have to go to it.

3rd Visit”
This was our third visit and the property has been sold since our 2nd visit. The new owners are building a massive hotel on the property, (200 rooms rather than the 14 at present). The villas are being managed by a nearby hotel, and are kept clean and tidy, but are beginning to show their age as maintenance is minimal and fans, aircon, hot water etc are no longer reliable. The pool, however, continues to be well maintained. The huge building project adjacent to the property has started and there is now construction noise during breakfast. The temporary manager has little interest in the property and the challenge is to make him smile! (We succeeded once!! - most unlike all other Thais!). There is no longer any food after the kitchens close at 10:30am nor is there a bar so you really do need some form of transport if you want to get food. Not sure that the minibus transfer to Ao Nang operates any more. The staff who clean the rooms work hard to make your stay comfortable, but it is an uphill struggle for them. Such a pity to see this much loved holiday base falling into disrepair but, since the villas will eventually be pulled down to make room for the new hotel, things will only get worse - SO SAD!

Very good”
Nice quiet spot with a great view of the ocean. Clean pool. Rooms musty. Fan didn't work. Get a front room on the left as they have the best views. Manager was not very helpful and seemed upset all the time. Not very close to town but taxi service right outside hotel was cheap.

Stayed 2 nights in November 2016
We stayed only two nights and then got a hotel closer to the action in Ao Nang. Rimlay is picturesque but the beach isn't too inviting and it's walking distance from only one or two places to eat. The guy running the place was decidedly unpersonable. Not sure if he is terminally grumpy or just comes across this way. When we arrived he just said "passport." At the end he slid the bill over and said "pay."

Quiet bungalows”
Very nice and clean bungalows. Location away from anything (both an advantage and disadvantage). Good value for money.
