River Home Boutique Hotel

Nice river walk and bars are full of friendly folk. The hotel will help you with any information on the area. A little advice, make sure you get a business card from the hotel or you'll have a difficult time telling the tuk-tuk how to get you back after a night of drinks. Also, many vendors will ignore that your standing at their stall then having to deal with communicating with foreigners whom speak no Cambodian.

My room was decent, western-style, generally well-maintained but a few missing pieces of door hardware. Agoda description said the room area was 32 sq metres, but this is an overstatement - it's more like 27m2 including bathroom and balcony (fairly easy to calculate from the 60x60cm floor tiles). Breakfast was OK, kudos for mostly vegetarian food, but seating is limited so you may have to invite yourself to share a table. The "included restaurant credit" on my booking voucher turned out to mean "you can use your card in the restaurant". They do also offer 10% off at the restaurant, but since the (relatively high) prices don't include tax this more or less cancels out. Overall not a bad place, just not quite as good as promised.

Rooms need update, not clean, next to hotel is an abandoned field where people dump their waste --> it stinks massive as soon as air comes into rooms! Worst if all: there were bedbugs in the bed, so we had to change rooms in middle of night. Breakfast was ok, although we didnt get much as we were arriving at 9.30. We booked late check out, which was not possible. Also did we book a double room and got a twin. The location of hotel is nice though, the staff friendly. And the rooftop bar with the tiny pool is nice (except for the bad smell, which is all around this hotel..) and offers views of the Mekong River.

Have been staying at this hotel for a few years now. Excellent location. Close the main tourist attractions. Excellent breakfast. Plenty of choice. Hotel is quiet. The rooms are quite large. A very nice hotel at a reasonable price. Staff helpful and very courteous.

Very good location

Hotel is located very centrally as it is very easy to get a Tuk-tuk to anywhere in Phnom Penh. Facilities in the hotel is well maintained and the buffet breakfast is adequate.

This is a great hotel in a great location, so near Royal Palace and the Riverside Promenade, one can walk over to have a good sunset at night. Or you can simply stay in the rooftop and enjoy the bar and pool and a good view. I only stayed a night but will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip. The lobby and reception area are great, check in was a breeze and we were also offered a cold welcome drink which was nice after a long journey in. I got a twin room and I invited my friend who lives in the city to stay with me at the hotel that night since we were leaving early morning for our next destination and the reception politely asked for her identification which I think was great, shows that they value security. Wifi is good, aircon is ok, hot water and shower pressure were great. And the place is clean. There was a tiny balcony from our room overlooking the busy street outside. At night, it could be a bit noisy because of the bars outside, but I was too tired to be bothered. Light sleepers may think otherwise though, so maybe request for a higher floor. We were staying on the 2nd floor. Breakfast was also nice, including an egg station which serves eggs to your liking. The ambiance was nice and offered an outdoor porch is one prefers to enjoy the morning sun. Indoors, I would prefer the place to be a bit brighter though. Because of its dark furnishings, the area could feel a bit heavy for morning breakfast. The elevator is tiny but serves its purpose. The staff were ok, polite and can speak English although a bit on the shy side.

Free wifi. Bottled water. Delicious buffet breakfast. Clean and comfortable beds. Clean bathroom. Tuk-tuks just outside hotel. Within walking distance from two large parks and a few decent cafes (Backyard Cafe and Brown Coffee).

This hotel has nice rooms. It's worth spending the few extra dollars compared to other ones. Location is great just off the river. Staff is friendly and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is half buffet and half a la carte. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a new hotel and has a great promotion price thru September 2014. I stayed for 2 weeks. The location has easy access to the river road to the north by tuk-tuk (walking to the river is not interesting) which to me is the most interesting stretch of road in Phnom Penh. There are always several tuk-tuk's waiting outside for your business. You can walk about 10 minutes to the Royal Palace entrance or about 20 minutes to the National Museum (or take a short tuk ride). Naga World is also a short tuk ride away. There is a park across the street to the east (not really frequented by tourists), on the north a narrow road with several guesthouses/bars on it, and a good German restaurant/microbrewery at the end of that street. Right outside the front door across the street is a decent spa I went to several times (the one next to the salon, there are 2 spas). The property on the south and west sides of the hotel (rooms are without balconies on that side) is kind of sketchy, looks like a scrap yard and parking lot at night, but no noise or smells come from it. The roof sunning area and small pool are very nice with interesting view. The rooms are very nice with great air con. I never woke up in time for breakfast or ate at the restaurant so I don't know how good it is. There is some occasional noise during the day right now because they are constructing a meeting room on the 1st floor, but it was only a minor annoyance to me. The staff was very attentive and nice. As an aside, I found a good taxi driver, Saran Khan, 012851276, a pleasant guy with good English and a taxi in good condition (taxi sign on top). I hired him to go to the Killing Fields which for me is too far for a tuk ride (also will be a dusty ride if dry outside) and also S21 and touring around on another day.

i have stayed here before and it is in a good location for work and other activities. Can be noisy in the early morning when the Chinese tourists get up for their package tours. They have no sense of others and shout at the top of their voice in the early hours.....oh, that's what they are always like. Terrible, insensitive tourists with no sense of the rest of the world.

One out of three switches on the wall worked. Just after getting to the room went to use bathroom only to find there was no toilet paper. And as we were leaving the next morning, found a bedbug that upon killing, exploded with our blood and a day later I have presented with the bites where the little bugger feasted. Besides that it's a cheap option for where it is, but we will pay more even for a short stay next time.

Nice hotel room. No complaints.

Rooms were clean, AC worked, centrally located near the water and Casinos and the street food vendors served excellent food. Tuktuks were readily available for tours or for transport.

Very friendly staff. Fantastic location. Family room (two adjoining rooms) was spacious. Clean.

Tip- download PassApp for an even more local version their local of Uber. It will save you tons of money in tuk tuk rides. Do this at the airport!

We had a 7 night stay in a double. This Hotel caters to tour groups and can be noisy. Better Hotels in the vicinity in the same price range.

Hotel rooms on level 5 very noisy from chairs on concrete floor of roof top bar/pool. Breakfast very poor for rating and cost of hotel compared to others.

Hotel is located in a very nice part of town where you can actually walk to all the good restaurants and nightspot on the river front. Also not too far from Naga World.
