we stayed in a family room which was very spacious. it contained a king sized bed & also a oversized single bed. bathroom had both a rain shower & also a bath tub. great luxurious hotel with a huge swimming pool, modern gymnasium, 2 restaurants (one over the river kwai). upon arrival, we were served arrival drinks of lemongrass (made by the hotel) & there was a frui...

A real boutique resort located on Kwai Yai River bank with mountains as a backdrop, close to the famous River Kwai Bridge. Our second great time at the hotel. Top quality in every expects: rooms, garden, facilities etc. Room is compact, but very well fitted with exquisite amenities. Varieties of complementary excellent tea and real coffee (also a coffeemaker in room!...

Great location. It's only about 100-200 metres to the River Kwai Bridge, Art gallery & War Museum, and the day market (where they sell Thai snacks, souvenirs, gem jewellery, clothes, food). It's along River Kwai, and buffet breakfast (freshly cooked eggs such as sunny side up or omelette, sausages, toast, salad such as lettuce, cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, egg fried ri...

i was staying in the hotel for 2D1N during Oct 2017. The hotel is just newly opened in this year. The hotel is located near to River Kwai Bridge area. If you are travel to kanchanaburi via thai railway, so i advice you to get down from train at River Kwai Bridge Station instead of Kanchanaburi Station (1 station more after Kanchanaburi Station if travel from Bangkok di...

Lovely staff. Got small swiming pool, pond and garden, with restaurant facing river kwai which it is good to dine there at night or in the morning. Love the banana and coconut shake. Breakfast is lovely and have plenty of choices. We stayed in room #105. The room is little bit small 20 sqm but enough to fit in a large luggage and 2 backpacks. Wifi there though not so g...

A Very nice Hotel from our Spa bath room which was very spacious and overlooked the river Kwai to the beautiful pool and garden areas. Was very easy to sit in the garden area with a relaxing drink just watching the river flow by. The hotel location is an easy walking distance to everything you need, Restaurants, Bars, 7/11, and only a short distance from the Bridge ov...

The location is good, near the River Kwai Bridge and easy to find by Google Maps with many restaurants nearby. Small but peaceful hotel with no elevator (recommend to book 1st floor room for pool view and easily access to the pool). Friendly staff. BF choice is not so variable but ok for this price. Room is clean. Only one con is water drains very slow when you take a ...

Nice place by the River Kwai, small restaurant next to and on River, it's a little pier with a beautiful tree shading it. Well maintained swimming pool. Nice friendly staff. About a 15 minute walk to the bridge and accompanying museum, can catch a "taxi" the opposite direction for 4 minutes to get to the main part of town.

Picked this hotel day before travel, it looked lovely in the description and it lived up to the reviews. Lovely gardens, lovely pool, staff happy to organise taxis to River Kwai bridge or into town for a meal. River Kwai Bridge less than 15 minutes walk or better still a 40 baht trike ride (booked from hotel). Good restaurants nearby and also many bars which were of th...

Our stay at The River Kwai hotel was very smooth and a memorable one. What made it memorable firstly was the “easy to talk with” and friendly staff. They provided a lot of useful information to guide me in Kanchanaburi and melted away all my worries with their intoxicating smiles when needed. So, a big thumbs up to the staff there! Secondly, the food at the hotel resta...

We had an excellent experience at the Glory River Kwai Hotel. All the rooms face onto the river, the rooms have high ceilings and very spacious with nicely designed bathroom. The swimming pool was great overlooking the river - especially early in the morning. Wifi is good. Breakfast was excellent. All in all this was an excellent stay. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at the Princess River Kwai. It's hard to find and not convenient in the sense that you can't walk anywhere. However, it is a short drive to the main street and attractions of the city. If you have your own vehicle, it's fine. The rooms are nice, and the property is well maintained. They have a small breakfast buffet that is adequate. There i...

Clean and welcoming hotel ! Prices are ridiculously low for this kind of place : rooms are huge, towels changed everyday, big and nice swimming pool, and the resort is located really close to the River Kwai. The only setback is that the guy a the reception did not understand one word of English, so you better have no reclamation or special requests (we asked him to o...

It was a nice stayed here. We’ve booked 2 pool villas for a group of 12 people for our company team building trip. The villa is quite big with 2 floors, 3 king beds size and 2 bathrooms. We had an extremely good time at the water park. There’re a lot of fun activities. The staffs there were very friendly and helpful. One of my friends was accidentally dropped the iPho...

Hotel located approx 5-10 min ride from main centre. The location is ideal for those wanting somewhere relaxing and away from busier areas but still accessible to them. It is also handily located for the roads out of town to Errewan waterfalls and Bridge on River Kwai. All the staff, from the security and maintenance up to the reception and managers are extremely poli...

Great 2 night stay at the Tara Raft house. The location overlooking the river Kwai is beautiful as is the sunset. Grab a beer and sit in the swing and watch the sun go down. The rooms are on a floating pontoon. The further out your room is on the pontoon, the better the view. Ask for rooms 6,8 or 10. The bed was so comfy unlike all others I have slept in in Thailand. ...

We loved our stay here and highly recommend if you are in Kanchanaburi!! Staff: incredibly helpful and kind, and they speak English very well. They went above and beyond to help us route our transport to the next location and ensured we bought our train tickets before the station closed -- they saved us here! Amenities: air con, beautiful pool, delicious breakfast in...

Ban Kaeng Sian Resort is 3.8 Kms north west of the river Kwai bridge, 8.2 kms from Kanchanaburi’s bus terminal. We actually enjoyed the location - easily reached with the scooter we had rented in town and a good base to visit the area. The staff at Ban Kaeng Sian Resort is super nice and helpful. The resort is virtually brand new (finished less than 2 years ago) with a...

First of all, the owner was super nice and helpful. He took us to find a place to rent a vehicle, and even drove us to the bus station as we were leaving. The breakfast was delicious, i especially liked the sandwiches. The location was good, close to a Thai style grilled seafood/meat buffet place and other restaurants, and a short bicycle ride away from the bridge over...

Very cozy and peaceful place. The room is clean and cozy. the resort locates on the Kwai riverside which is lovely location. The buildings' decoration is simply but classy, and staff are very nice. You can also choose your breakfast from the 3 dishes : 1.ABF, 2. garlic pork and fried egg, and 3. porridge with minced pork.

I have 3 stars for the location because of its proximity to the road. You can here all truck traffic as it passes the north side of the property. The owner was very generous to have offered and given us a bott;evof red wine. It was delicious and greatly appreciated. We will stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Kanchanaburi. Deliscious and nicely presented br...

Stayed here for 2 nights from the 7th-9th January. When we arrived our Bungalow that we booked was not available so they put us into a "New Room" which was great. Views over the River Kwai and very quiet and tranquil. The room was spacious with a large bed, separate bathroom, small fridge and Air Con. Free WiFi was available but didn't work in the room at all. On the s...

Really nice little B&B and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great on the main strip about 15-20 minutes walk to the bridge over the river kwai but its also quite easy to get to other attractions. its close to Kanchanaburi station by taxi but would not recommend walking though as the route is not great with luggage (Take one of the taxis waiting...

We had a great 2-night stay at Warm Well hostel during our trip in Kanchanaburi. We booked 2 triple rooms, both rooms and bathroom are nice, clean and spacious, with all needed facilities. The hostel is nicely decorated and attractive, providing many good angles for some nice photo shots with friends. The host was really nice and helpful. They provide kitchen and nic...
Cheap places to stay in River Kwai

This hostel is very near to Kanchanburi Train Station and closer to the night market. The war memorial cemetery is a walking distance from this place. The area is very quiet in the night. Please do not choose this area to stay if you want to get close to the bridge across River Kwai. It is about 30 minutes walk from this area.

We booked a double fan room. It was like a little beach hut and there was only room for a bed and table inside. But it was fine and just what we needed as we weren't at the hostel an awful lot. It's close to all the backpacker bars and restaurants and only a 15-20 min walk from the River Kwai Bridge. Good cheap stay and would stay again.

So I stayed here 3 nights after discovering that Kanchanaburi has a ton to do and this place was awesome (although has it quirks-see farther down). It’s a quaint little guest house right on River Kwai kind of away from most of the other hotels and guest houses (which I think is kind of nice) and not far from the town center. The owner is super nice and very helpful wit...

It's a good place in a peaceful neighbourhood. The hotel is exactly what I was looking for to get a couple days of quiet rest from BKK. I'm more than satisfied. The place is like a country house. I had to ask for a towel, but it's not a big deal. My bed was comfortable, I had a functioning fan and water heater, and strong Wi-Fi. And they have a decent breakfast a...

I opted for a basic room for 250 Bahts per day.The room was spacious and clean bathrooms. I would recommend this place for backpackers and budget travellers. The best thing about this place is its gardens. It gives an ideal place for chilling out during the evening. It has no restaurant. But there are plenty of ones just outside the hotel. It is in a convienient place to ac...

Very friendly and helpful lady. Was stayed dorm and pretty basic but comfortable and quiet. If you need rent motor just tell lady boss, she could arrange for you well. The guesthouse located at residential neighbor - quiet and relaxing. Distance far to Kanchanaburi Train Station, River Kwai Bridge and pubs street however .... backpacker should walk more to see more ......

Staff we always smiling, right on the river so nice to sit on the river at night. Good rates for sure and everything you need, just old a bit dirty. Mattresses very warn out and bathroom def had a funk haha. But what can you expect with these rates. Overall was happy with the choice. Would probably stay again.

Great location, staff doesn't speak English but are surprisingly still very helpful , place is extremely clean , ac runs good but a little loud , bed is extremely hard . There are pros and cons , if bed was softer I would highly recommend but I personally would stay here again because bed wasn't comfortable , but there is a couch also that looks pretty comfy

The room was spacious and clean with a nice balcony area directly on the River Kwai. The bathroom was basic but clean with a warm shower with good water pressure. The place is ideally located for Kanchanaburi station which is a 5-10 min walk, helpful if you are catching the early train! It is a 15-20 min walk from the River Kwai Bridge but we saw this as a benefit a...

It was quiet in the night. And in the daytime, I was crusing around, so I did not bother about the hotel (?), build on the next plot. Actually, it's cutting of the view from the roof to the river, now! Ok, The hotel had its times. But I think, it's still a alternative, to check out the area. It's about 1 km to the trainstation, 2 to the bridge. Both walking distance. O...

I have asked the owner about motorcycle rental availability before booking, he replied yes, there are motorcycle for renting. So I decided to book immediately. But when I arrived the staff said the owner is out to the aboard and there is nothing she could do to let me rent a motorcycle. What!!!! It took me a while to make her called a motorcycle taxi for me going to ...

We had a fantastic time here. It's basic but adequate. We stayed in a bungalow and not the raft house. A fan was adequate and enough for the bungalows. It was clean. Towels provided. Restaurant in site. The setting is beautiful right on the River. The sounds of nature is amazing. Guests can be a bit noisy late at night coming back from their party and the walls ...

I like everything in the hotel, the friendly staff, the interior, the cleanliness, the location! It's located between the train station and bus terminal. It may be far to walk, but i always hop on a motor taxi because it's convenient and cheap! Just show the driver the address (better in Thai) and they'll let you know the price, usually it's less than 40 baht per pers...

Stayed for only one night after staying a week at a resort further out of town. Chose this place because of its proximity to bus station as as we were leaving early the next day. We werent expecting much for the price but the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The proprieter was the best part of our stay - she apoke english very well (has a daughter living in t...

We stayed there because it was a holiday weekend and there was nothing else available. Basic room, old and run down and not very clean. Location not too bad, opposite the bus station a few km away from the main tourist area - only 60 baht in a tuk tuk to the Bridge over the river Kwai. Not bad for the price but wouldn't stay there again if something else was available....

The Best Riverside Guesthouse is convieniently located near the old City Gate, and only a short walking distance from the central bus terminal in Kanchanaburi. It is about a half-hour walk to the train station and about 5 km from the famous River Kwai Bridge. The whole complex is very clean, with loveley views across the river. Bars and small shops can be found along...

This hotel is situated next to the more expensive River Kwai Hotel, which is also next to one of the most popular clubs in Kanchanaburi. If you are going to party, this is a great hotel. If you are going to see the river, book one of the river rooms. 7/11 is just opposite the room, which makes this a score of 5 on the location scale. Will be back for a weekend in Kan. ...

I really liked my stay at this guesthouse. The staff was superfriendly and they helped us with everything they could. The price was reasonable and the location was perfect. Walking distance to the railway station and to the bridge of river Kwai. Also many restaurants and bars around this area. More than that the cottages were very cozy.

It's quite a huge hotel with many facilities and car parking is within the compound. Security personnel were on duty during the night. A clean room and friendly staff. The hotel was about 7 km from the famous attraction, Bridge over River Kwae. So, ensure that you have your own transportation to ensure smooth travelling time. Since it was quite far from the City Centre...

We stayed at The Nine Guesthouse for two nights and really enjoyed it. We were pleased with how clean and cozy our place was, with it's only terrace overlooking their grassy area. There's lots of birds chirping which was very nice-- it felt like being in nature when Kanchanaburi itself doesn't have too much nature in the town to offer. The only thing with the room is t...

The hotel is a little bit far from the center, but it's right on the way to the waterfalls and it's located in a very quiet area near the main road. I recommend to stay here because you can really rest here after your trekking! From the outside you won't say it, but rooms are really new, with a modern minimalist decoration and a big comfy bed. Rooms are really super cl...

I stayed here 3 nights with my friend and we loved this hotel! The room was very clean and the hotel itself was very cute and nicely decorated. The breakfast that's included is totally amazing! In fact, the food was so good here that my friend and I had to try everything on the menu! The location itself is about a 20 minute walk to the bus station or a 50bht taxi. If y...

This landmark not only offers a glimpse into the past but also serves as a stunning viewpoint for the surrounding scenery. History buffs will appreciate the nearby JEATH War Museum, which provides insightful exhibits about the lives of those who worked on the railway.
