Highly Recommend! Great for the Australian Open”

My friend and I had a 3 day stay at the Best Western Riverside Apartments for the Australian Open tennis. Upon check in we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who quickly checked us in and was very helpful when we had a few questions about how to get to/from the tennis that night. We stayed in the annex apartments, which were located in the building next door, about a 1 minute walk from reception in the main building. We were one of only 17 apartments in that building, it very spacious with a lounge area, full kitchen, small dining table and a bedroom with ensuite. Our room was serviced every morning so we had fresh towels and our bed made which was nice to come back to at night. It was very quiet during the day, our only complaint was some noise which could be heard in the middle of the night from some bars close by but it was quite easy to sleep with. Other than that I would definitely come back and stay in the future. Its location is great with the free tram stop a street away making it easy to commute into the main part of the CBD and get to Rod Laver Arena for the tennis.

Quite nice and centrally located”

The apartment is centrally located in Melbourne CBD. Sea Life, Crown Casino and Immigration museum is within walking distance. Tram stations nearby. Regarding food, you have restaurants and 7 eleven. If you're craving for Indian food, there are 2 restaurant with easy accessibility. Regarding the property itself, it is clean and quite comfortable. Everything is provided from dishes to pans so you can cook yourself a decent meal on your travel off-days.

Comfortable, spacious apartment ”

Overall, we were pretty happy with the standard of Best Western Riverside Apartments. The apartment was a good size - the living area had lovely big windows looking out onto the city/footpath below. In terms of cleanliness, there were a few stains on parts of the furniture (possibly cleaning product stains/residue on the working desk and the bathroom bench), but other than that, the apartment appeared fairly clean. Location was fairly good - it was on the outskirts of the main CBD grid, so it still a good 10-15 minutes to walk to the more central parts of the CBD (like Bourke St mall). However there was a great cafe just next door to us that we went to a couple of times, and it would only take you a minute or two to come across proper restaurants and dining establishments (again, if you weren't fussed about being in the 'heart' of the CBD). Service was great - the guy at the front desk was incredibly friendly and gave us some great advice about what to check out in Melbourne. I'd say the prices per night are fairly modest for what you get overall. I'd recommend it to others looking for a cheaper (but still nice) option.

The apartment is very clean and the location was perfect. The staff shows great attitude and service. The price is reasonable. Will surely return to Riverside Apartments Melbourne.

Great location, for simple travellers!”

It was in a great location in the CBD - right by the city tram, we walked to almost everywhere, to Docklands, Melbourne Central etc. We stayed in the Annex Building - that means there's no reception or security guard, it pretty much works like your own apartment. We felt safe there, security is pretty good and they regularly update the security system. That said, there were many clubs in the area, and you could smell the occasional urine or see the vomit pool left behind by customers from the night before. Their customers tend to linger around the area as well, but that said, it's not the hotel's fault, it's just the location it's in. The rooms were a little old but nevertheless, were really clean and kept tidy - housekeeping did a superb job! It felt like home after a few days. I would rate this hotel more like a 3.5 star than a 4 star. But for its price and location, it's worth it!

The free upgraded room meets our needs”

We stay in this hotel upon our arrive at Melbourne in the morning. When we check in the hotel staff release the room to us before the check-in time. What attract us to book this hotel is they provide free wifi in room, central location where free tram is just located beside the hotel and free baggage storage which we need it when we travel to Tasmania on day 3 to 6. The counter staff did a free upgrade for us. The upgraded room have 2 toilets. It helps in reduce our waiting time in using the toilet as 5 of us staying in 1 apartment. The upgraded room faced Crown casino. At night (00:00), there is fire performance at Crown casino. We can view it from our apartment. However, there is limitation on the wifi. Per device can only serve internet up to a certain data amount. We got kick out from using when we reach the limit.

very nice apartment ”

the apartment is 5 mins to the breakfast street, 6 mins to the fed square and 5 mins to Crown and the restaurant in the opposite of the river. Apart from the perfect location, it is comfortable to live such a spacious apartment. It is relatively quiet than the other places in Melbourne. Free laundry with washing powder, comfy sofa, spacious dining room. The staff is very helpful. I wish I could stay for a few more nights there.

Tastefully design self-catering apartment”

We booked the Annex room, which is a 1 bedroom apartment at 2nd floor of the Riverside Annex Apartments situated separately on the corner of Flinders and Highlander Lane. The reception is at Highlander Lane, which is just 1 minute walk from the Annex Apartment so it's ok. The room is tastefully designed, very tidy and neat. We paid 25 dollar to utilise the sofabed in the lounge. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable for 2. I personally love the big glass windows in the lounge that gave us the city and skyline view. Housekeeping actually came to house-keep our apartment during our 2-day stay which is a surprise to us. The property is close to Southern Cross Station maybe just a 400-500m walk, and also close to the free city circle tram service. It was a bit noisy on Tuesday night during our stay, being there were people from the nearby pub/club get drunk and yelling at the street. One point worth to mention is the Rema Cafe adjacent to the apartment that offers great breakfast at reasonably cheap price that comes with free coffee. Their mouth-watering pizzas are also a must-try.

This was a great value for money apartment. The price was very reasonable considering the quality and location compared to that of other appartments and hotel rooms in the area. Very close to Crown Casino, Docklands, Melbourne Aquarium and the CBD's shopping district. For traveller's, it is situated perfectly between both the flinders street and spencer street train stations...

Second part of my Melbourne trip.”

As we planned to go Tasmania in between our Melbourne holiday, we split our hotel stay in Melbourne into Day 1 & 2 and follow by Day 7 & 8. This review is writing on Day 7 & 8. As the hotel gave us a free upgrade on our stay earlier, the second stay they did not give us any free upgrade. Probable because the second stay falls on weekend. The room has only 1 toilet in the apartment. We are shocked and worried how long the waiting will be. We have 5 persons staying in the apartment. It took more than an hour for all of us to finish using the toilet. I still do prefer to have 2 toilets in 1 apartment when we are in big group. Other than that the location, staff friendliness, cleanliness are all good. One of the best part I like about the apartment is it is equipped with washing machine and dryer. We can wash all our clothes which we have wore the past few days before we return to our home country. However, do note that the washer and dryer can only fit in 5 kgs clothes. You need to wash a few times if you have many clothes to wash.

i stay at best western riverside apartmen for 3 nights on 01 january 2018. we have to check in on highlander ln road then the annex type apartment is located behind the check in desk. the rooms are a bit small, but the living room and kitchen are quite spacious, and the cooking supplies are also quite spacious. but unfortunately the air con just in the living room, so in the summer the bedroom is quite hot. the location is quite far to the road to the city center, but you can use the free tram located in front of the road to get to the city center. I am quite satisfied, and will probably return to stay here next time. the apartments are reasonably priced with comfortable rooms.

Excellent service and prominent location!”

though the reception is separated with main dorm, the staff instructed very clearly. they also have provided all sorts of help customers needed as they can. the apartment is big, accommodating very spacious environment and make your stay comfortable and relaxed. the pantry is with full sets of utensils, equipment and needed. everything is great! the apartment is with great location, too. five minutes walk access to river, melbourne aquarium and crown casino, ten minutes walk to flinders street station. walking to queen victoria market is also easy by a relaxing fifteen to twenty minutes walk.

Great extralegal area in a beautiful city”

Very close to the free tram, so you comfortably see what's around Melbourne. A short walk to southern cross railway station, which has busses every 10 minutes to the airport. Very close to the casino and a couple of blocks to reach Central Melbourne city. The hotel was very comfortable, staff helpful. I will definitely stay there again. The cafés downstairs both have great food at reasonable prices.

Very handy location”

There's a lot of construction happening in the area, so quite a few empty shops around - but don't be put off by that. The location is very handy to the free tram services with many, many excellent cafe & restaurant options within easy walk. It's also a short walk across the bridge to a great bike/walking track along the Yarra river. The apartment was generously sized and the bed super comfortable. Will be back on my next trip to Melbourne.

value for money”

We we arrived very early and actually was lucky to be given a room at 10 in the morning. The location is perfect at flinders street and all the point of interest are walk-able. The hotel has 2 units and we were unfortunate to be a part of the annex building which is 100% self service. They do clean the room but you feel a tad unsafe with no gate man. The sightseeing in melbourne is quite easy as the travel brochures are at the hotel and they can be booked by the reception. Lot of eateries available nearby. You can cook if you want as all amenities are available. The great ocean drive is a must.

Excellent Service and Great Location”

Stayed one night and would definitely book again. Apartment was very clean and spacious with a balcony. Staff were extremely helpful. The bathroom is a bit dated and could do with a reno but still clean. Very close to tram stop, Crown Casino and Melbourne Aquarium. There was noise from building works early in the morning but we would still book here again.

Location speaks it all”

I got this apartments due to agoda secret deal so the price is very attractive. Location is great as it's close to train (Southern Cross/Spencer street station is walking distance, Flinders street station is 2 tram stop away) and tram station. Very close to Melbourne Aquarium. So you can't really complain much about the location. The room is spacious and for sure it can hold one more person.

Out of the way place”

the hotel itself is located down a tiny alley way as most things in Melbourne are so if your driving yourself have a good GPS the hotel itself is neat and tidy self contained apartment with cooking facilitys but really in melbourne who cooks.Our stay was very pleasent .Be aware as in most places in melbourne you will pay for parking every where you go and its not cheap . the hotel wa close too all the shopping and restrants you could ever want and just across the river is the casino as well as theaters and driving distance to all majour sporting venues. my wife loved the place and as we were there for a wedding the shopping and places to get you ready for the eventt are all there as well.The only down side to the hotel is not the hotel itself but some of the surrounding businesses like the gentelmens clubs and casinos so the revelers on the way home can be a bit noisy.

Good location and facilities”

We ended up staying at the annex building on Flinders Lane however this worked to our advantage (it's only 100m from the main building) as the location is quite good. The apartment is showing a little wear and tear however everything worked fine, was spacious and comfortable. There was a build up of mould in the shower that does need attending to however not enough to be a major concern. Would stay again if in Melbourne. Price and location are difficult to beat.

Great location, great price”

Overall we had a great stay. The rooms are large and beds comfortable. The location is right next to a tram stop and very centrally located in the Melbourne CBD. Very easy access to just about anywhere you want to go. We will definitely be back.
