Show reviews that mention
good location, friendly staff, cheap”
I come her regularly. The ladies can organise any connections you need. You also get a free monkey show if you have a 3rd floor or above room. Not fancy just a practical budget option. The TV and internet work well.
I keep coming back”
I keep coming back here. This is not somewhere to visit if you want a concierge to greet you from your limousine. But it is very safe. It has a free monkey show every evening from your window (level 3 and 4) but keep the windows and doors shut. They put shower gel, soap and toilet paper in the room. They can organise all transport connections. Restaurants and the night market are within 5 minutes walk. An espresso coffee is 2 minutes walk on the riverfront. You can help the children with their English. Internet and TV have always worked quite well. It's budget and I like it.
Cheap and worth it”
After staying at many "cheap" places in Phnom Penh I like this one because the sheets are clean, the aircon works and the shower is hot. So what there is no elevator? It is tricky to find the first time. It isn't fancy. But the price is good, and everything works and I had a view of the river and a very good sleep. The location is great. Just back 1/2 a block off the water front, a block from the Giant Ibis bus, a block from the night market. Even the girlie bars are only a block away if that is what you are into. The Wat Phnom and post office are a block away, lots and lots of restaurants really close by. Good bang for the buck in my book.
Clean, affordable and centrally-located”
I can't rave enough about the location of the Riverwalk Guest House. It is literally a stone's throw from the river, the post office, Wat Phnom, the US Embassy, and right next door to one of the major bus companies. The staff were friendly and spoke reasonably good English. The only caveat is, if you have bad knees, find another place on the ground floor. To get to the Riverwalk, you have to lug your bags up a narrow spiral staircase. This may be challenging going up and down if you're overweight or have had a few drinks.
scary looking outside but ok inside”
booked single fan room with river view but they gave me a double room on top floor which has a balcony, river view and also city view, with many large window, bright and airy. didn't use the aircon but it was ok however, because of monkeys in neighborhood it is not recommended to keep window or door open. it's a hike to go to top floor but it's worth it. Rooms on 3rd floor and below may be dark hotel attendant did not speak English much but can communicate ok if simple stuff clean bathroom, water Ok (lukewarm but enough water) behind Giant Ibis bus stop so it's good stayover from Siem Reap by bus if you are departing/arriving PNP
Helpful staffs and owner”
We were picked up at the airport by a tuk-tuk driver as arranged by the guesthouse. Room is clean and acceptable with a balcony. The downside is that there were monkeys at the balcony, therefore we were unable to use the balcony and must ensure that the balcony door is always closed to avoid the monkeys coming in to the room. Entrance to the guesthouse is a bit rundown as it is located at the back of a shoplot. We had a comfortable stay in this guesthouse but unfortunately we have a problem with water supply (bathroom) on the day we check-out and we think this is beyond the guestroom control.
It has a good located - it take 5 mins to Night market & Wat phnom, the staff so friendly & supporting, the room is fully standard amentities & cleaness. They can assist you in booking bus ticket, boat ticket, tuk tuk to visit around phnom penh,
Good location, but that's probably it”
The hotel is accessed through a back alley and up a flight of stairs. The owners did not really speak much English, and did not understand my booking of "river view", giving me a room on the second floor with not much view. Thankfully they did, because after I searched for their reviews, the river view rooms were located much higher up - there is no elevator in this property. The rooms looked nice until I took off my shoes. The floor was dusty and oily, but I don't think I could bring my point across to the owner anyway. This is the first hotel that I had to mop my own floor before it was satisfactory to walk around in barefooted.
Perfect for us! Casual, awesome location. ”
Just what we were looking for! Nice location and a place without any hassles whatsoever. Room wasn't cleaned all week, not a bunch of questions or formalities. But this is how I like it. The lady there is very helpful and will do anything she can to help you if you ASK. Don't ask, don't complain.. :) In other words, freedom, peace, and love.. haha.. :) 'If I could think of one thing to complain about its that you have to wake them to get in/out late at night. Not a problem there is a doorbell, but would rather have my own key.
Neat little guest house”
This is a really cheap place to stay, right on the river walk on St102. Some tough stairs to negotiate but the rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Great place for a budget stay near to all the action.
Really enjoyed my stay here.”
It was great, woman who worked there was very friendly and helpful. I had a room at the top which was awesome it had a nice bathroom good a/c and balcony. Negative if you don't like loud music, the road your room over looks is full of girlie bars that close around 2am. Place is easy to find, was 3 dollars by tuktuk to the hotel.
Good rooms on top floor for the price. Good security and on-site staff. Stairs going up are a non-issue unless you are handicapped. Not accessible for handicapped or wheelchairs. River view and great breeze through windows.
It was a good stay and the room is comfortable”
It was good and the staffs are friendly. However, you have to climb lots of stairs and they don't do any housekeeping. Have to always ask the staffs for the toiletry and water bottles refill. But everything else is great.
Great experience with river cruise on me king river. Almost everywhere is in a short distance it seems. Thanks agoda for listing this river walk or else i would never b able to locate it on my own. Thanks
Riverwalk Guest House”
The picture actually is a view from the Guest House. Rounding stairway to reception floor is dangerous.I booked for air-conditioned room, but reception people asked me more money for the air-conditioned room. I stayed at room with no river view. But it was posted as river-view with air-con. For two nights, I was busy in killing bugs in the bed linen. Luckily not bitten. Has good hot shower though.
Good locatn very near to night market & bus statio”
I stayed in this hotel only for one day. Firstly, Vanna was so good at planning the driver to pick me up at the airport free of charge. Superb good service and she even ensure that my room is clean and nice. But the down side is the hotel is right on the stop of phnom penh most happening bars. 104, rose bar and many other. At night, is super noisy cant sleep until 3am. So only if u want to have night life, this is the place for u. If you have an intention to pick up a girl from the bar, you don't even have to take any transport.
good value and location”
It's basic but clean and we booked a river view room which is worth it as much brighter than other rooms. Quite hard to find but a good location near bars and restaurants and bus links. Staff are lovely.
Friendly staff, good location, value for money”
This guesthouse is very close to bus stations, the riverside restaurant strip and some major attractions including 1km to the Palace. The staff are friendly and can arrange laundry, transport and tour options. This location does not suit anyone with mobility problems due to some steep stairs. However on the other hand it is a very secure location with 24 hour access.
Good location, a bit expensive and nothing special”
Good:Room was large, bathroom was also large and recently renovated. Good locations next to bus stations and night market. ALso offer free pickup for more expensive rooms, but agoda support was useless in submitting the request so make sure you call ahead. Not so good: uncaring staff, very steep and partly metal stairs, no real balcony or river view despite claims to the contrary for more expensive rooms. View on clubs so noisy until late. Sheets did not seem clean. Basically: overpriced!
Clean room and restful stay”
When I first walked through the narrow alley and climbed the spiraling metal staircase, I wondered what kind of place this would be. I purposefully chose a cheap place. Fortunately, I traveled light and alone, so I didn't mind the upstairs climb. After I checked in, however, and as I ascended the stairs to my room on the top floor, the appearance of the stairwell and hallways significantly improved. When I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the view of the river, and the brightness of the room. The mattress on the bed was some kind of hard sponge (foam?) and it was superb! I slept very well every night and overall found the room very reasonable for the price I paid. However, the hotel is best suited for single, male travelers who are only in Cambodia for a few days, such as a visa run like I was. Plenty of entertainment places for single guys nearby if you enjoy that sort of thing. Not recommended for couples.
