The place is dark in the corridors,cramped, no air conditioning,we stayed for 5 days but sheets were never changed and there was no mini bar fridge atleast for visitors to be able to keep our drinks in while in those stuffy hot rooms

Homely and Friendly staffs”
We really enjoyed the stay at Riviera hotel. Staffs are very very friendly and helped a lot. Nice location and completely secured. very close to all main spots. My wife and kids didnt want to vacate the room as they liked it very much :) :) :) only problem is Parking, we must park in another place and it is not clean. for that we must pay R45/day. Please take further steps to provide free parking or atleast clean parking. other that hotel is 100% perfect.

It was my first time being in Durban and this hotel does not disappoint me since it is economy with friendly staff, fine food and the beach is close.I really enjoy walk after working a whole day to the beach.

Apart from the inconvenient parking arrangement, the hotel itself was great. The hotel management needs to notify guest wishing to make booking of the varied parking tarrifs for day, night and full day parking. There was also no 2 pin plug adaptor in the room with which to charge my mobile phone. After a call to the front desk, Danny explained why this was and promptly sent one up to our room which I retuned during check out.

The hotel rooms are clean. Breakfast was great. The hotel surroundings not so good looking but the hotel management is on point in terms of upkeep of the entire hotel and service. The hotel is close to a lot of attractions in Durban especially the Durban Habour and uShaka Marine.

QUAint little budget hotel - ideally situated - clean - staff friendly - Busters restaurant attached where we had our breakfast - good value for money - an observation - they just had numbered keys for the doors - which you could buy at any hardware/locksmith - so needs a better door licked - otherwise - would recommend this hotel - on the PEOPLE MOVER Bus route as well

Excellent adventure”
The Director Peter Corrigall is a very professional and welcoming person. We got contact with him before check-in. As promised we got a warm welcome. He did whatever possible for us to feel at ease. He even helped us to get shuttle for airport transfers. It's a budget hotel but the service is great. There is a good restaurant opposite the hotel so food was not an issue specially sea food. I would recommend this hotel to solo travellers and even business or family.

I find the person in charge of hosekeeping with a negative attitude. The cleaning staff ate friendly and courteous . it needs to improve on facililite and amenities. the breakfast venue doesnt look inviting. the lift is older model. must be willing to invest in the business if want to attract clientiele. The price charged for what you get is reasonable. it appears effort is put in maing sur the rooms are clean
