nice and cozy place”
i really enjoyed my stay here at the riviera hotel. it was a nice and cozy place, with helpful and friendly staff. it was also clean, and the breakfast buffet was good. there's a bus stop just one minute away, just round the corner and down the hill that goes to the heart of the city, which was very convenient. there's also another bus stop to the left of the entrance, also about a minute away. location's a bit far from the city proper in the sense that you can't really walk there, but it's a cheap bus ride away from the conveniently located bus stop. i stayed for six days, and i thought that it was well-worth it. the hotel rooms were clean and equipped with the things and amenities i needed. only complaint would be the lumpy pillows. otherwise, it was great. view was also spectacular - just going out my room, i could see the macau tower. it was especially beautiful at night. i would really recommend this hotel, and would be glad to stay here again.

A clean, friendly hotel. Good breakfast buffett. ”
before booking, i read review that the hotel was not centrally located. i now wonder, central to what. macau is spread out. we were able to get to many tourist sights by foot. others, we took the hotel shuttle to town or to the ferry pier. from the pier we could take other hotel shuttles to almost any part of macau. we did take some taxis and their were all metered and the prices were surprisingly inexpensive. our room was with a water view. we could see the tower, bridges and ships and boats. it was a great view. we could even see the bungy jumpers off the tower (the worlds highest jump). we became friends with some of the employees. the night before we left, a waiter gave us a small gift. it was quite nice and unexpected. the restaurant was reasonably priced with a good selection of meals. the hotel shuttle runs almost every half hour. it makes two stops on its way to and from the ferry pier. we were very happy with our selection of this hotel. we are recommending it to friends. our only negative is that we had to go to the lobby to use the free wifi.

Great Place to stay in Macau!”
Riviera Hotel is a great place to stay in Macau with reasonable price including a rich breakfast! The view (especially at night) on the roof of hotel was beautiful! It is one of the finest hotels in Macau. Even former Chinese President Jiang Zemin stayed here on December 20, 1999 when Macau was returned to China. He stayed here again one year later for the first anniversary.

Comfortable”
Riviera hotel has a convenient shuttle bus into town and to the Macau-HK ferry terminal. It is located in a very quiet and historical part of town with a beautiful view of the Macau tower and the bridge from the roof top. The room was lovely and I really liked the spatious bathroom. I got the "Garden View" room but there isn't actually a garden. I would stay here again at the Riverview room if the price wasn't too high.

A nice view”
Riviera Hotel is very close to the city center. It costs only MOP15 by taxi. It locates at a quiet area with the view of Macau Tower. The free shuttle also takes us to city center and the ferry every 30 mins. Do check the shuttle time table since certain of them don't call the ferry. It provides breakfast now. A nice hotel with polite staff. I will stay there again at next visit to Macau.

I loved staying here!”
I decided to stay here when comparing reviews and prices as the Riviera Hotel ad had offered a discount of their recently renovated rooms that had sea views - this made the prices comparable with other places or cheaper - and i ended up with a beautiful room and the staff kindly, because of the request capability when booking with Agoda, certainly gave me a lovely seaview. The wifi was great, beautiful bathroom and toiletries, tea and coffee making in the room. The breakfast was fantastic - a lovely range of food and good coffee with real milk. It would have been better to get better info about transportation though. and info to decide whether to take their shuttle vs a taxi was incorrect - i missed the ferry as it took a lot longer to get to the ferry terminal than told their shuttle would take.

Great View”
This was our second stay at this hotel and we will stay here again if breakfast could be included in the Agoda rate. We were travelling with elderly parents and Jo the concierge/porter was really helpful indeed. We liked the hotel shuttle bus to and from the pier and to the historic centre but it is not really necessary as it is a lovely walk to Senado Square passing many lovely buildings and and Churches on the way. The hotel is an easy walk to Lilau Square, the Mandarin House, Moorish Barracks and A-Ma Temple. There are two great restaurants on the harbour below the hotel so there is no need to go into Macau to eat. The best thing about the hotel though is the night view from the Sea View rooms. The worst thing about the latest deal with Agoda though is that breakfast was not included in the price. We prefer to stay where breakfast is included and that may inform our choice for our next stay in Macau later this month.

Great view of the mountainside/garden view”
We decided to stay at a more out of the way hotel to avoid the crowds and noise of Macau City and we were happy with our choice. The staff was very courteous and helpful; if they did not know the answer, they called or looked up the info on the internet. The room crew quickly re-supplied our room so that were had fresh towels and toiletries at all times. It was New Year's Eve weekend and we were able to step put onto a large patio on the third floor with a front row seat to see the dazzling fireworks and live show from the Macau Tower and Arena. I would choose this hotel as a viable option on your next stay in Macau.

Value for Money-Good Room & Food”
Staff was nice to upgrade us to the Suite due to unavailability of the rooms we booked (due to season rush) - the room offered great view bridge connecting Taipa & Macau Tower with bay separating Taipa-Macau. Hotel location is on a hill (though not very tiring) and has short cut opening (follow left after getting out of hotel exit) to road to casinos & MGM grand (may take about 10-15mins easy walk). The hotel is far away from the hectic activities of the city - walking distance (expect a little tiring climb) to Penha church & further (slope) leading to A-Ma temple. Easy to catch buses at A-Ma temple to visit other popular locations. Macau City itself being small - location does not add to much of travel time.

A hotel in Macau that should be introduced to all around the world ”
The location is a little bit far away from the popular casinos, shopping centers and the overcrowded area in Macau, but perfect close to the famous heritages and scenes of local citizens, like the Penha Church, A-Ma Temple, and the route of Macau World Heritage. The view from our room to the Sai Wan Lake and Macau Tower was our greatest treasure to stay for our 5-day trip in Macau. The room maybe a little bit old, but still very clean and tidy (but sometime you have to tolerate the odor of cigarette run into your room produced from your neighbors from Mainland China...). If you look for a hotel for a reasonable price, quite, sample, good and polite service, this is your perfect chose in Macau.

Great stay”
I was surprised to find that this hotel is a Hilton hotel. As such, it meets or exceeds the standards for the chain. The hotel is away from the 'casino strip' in Macau, and is closer to the 'old town'. They do provide a free shuttle to the casinos and the ferry terminal. I had a great stay with great staff who spoke excellent English (my waiter for the evening that I stayed had almost an American accent). Amigo, which serves Portugese food, is recommended--I ate in both it and the Chinese restaurant (which is over-priced Cantonese). For those of you who are not into gambling, but want to see the sights of Macau, I would highly recommend this hotel!

A great place to avoid all the hustles~”
I read a lot of comments here before I chose this hotel, so I was a little hesitate at first. Here's what I think: Pros 1. Location is great (if you don't like the crowds). Oversee the lake and Macau Tower. 2. Got free upgraded to a room with view. It's a very pleasant surprise. 3. Room is spacious, clean, no unwanted noise from outside or next room. 4. It's actually very close to the city if you don't mind a short walk. 5. It's relatively CHEAP compares to other hotel without any sell point. Cons 1. Tried high and low to find the shuttle bus from the pier but in vain. It's much easier to take the shuttle form the hotel though. 2. The room has a little smell, not stinky, just some smell. Not a serious problem. 3. The walk up to the hotel requires a bit of patience. I was ok because I didn't have a suitcase, otherwise...

Fell in love with Macau”
I highly recommend this hotel. I like the location that is a bit far from the city and offers a good view of the bridge and macau tower. The transpo is not much of a problem too because they have a hotel shuttle that operates from 9AM-10PM for free, it can take you or fetch you from the pier or the airport or drop you off within the city. Things are a bit expensive in Macau and this hotel surely offers a good value for money!

Quiet and comfortable hotel in the hills of Macau”
We booked a garden view room, but received a free upgrade to sea view because we wanted a king sized bed. Contrary to what some reviewers have written, we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a free shuttle every 30 minutes that will take you to 3 locations downtown or to the ferry. There is also a city bus stop near by. Bus 16 will take you downtown for MOP 3.20 (45 US cents). We didn't spend much time at the hotel, because we were in Macau to see Macau. The time we did spend in the hotel was pleasant. The buffet breakfast (0730-1000) was decent. There was enough to choose from to keep us satisfied. This was not a budget hotel, but the price we paid ($80) was one of the lowest I could find for Macau. For that reason alone, I would stay here again.

Up the hill”
Reviera Hotel is fine hotel. The room and facilities is all great. Bathroom is quite big. The view in the morning is wonderful. Even it's up hill but there is hotel suttle bus take us almost everywhere. It's very close to tourist attractions such as A-Ma temple and Macau Tower. All staffs are very helpful and polite. Also there are tourist guide and map at the front desk plus the staffs to help us find where we want to go. Riviera Hotel doesn't disappoint me at all.....

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Our stay at the hotel is memorable and comfortable. The receptionists are courteous and very helpful. The housekeeping service clean our room provided us clean towels and toiletries everyday. The bedroom has 2 double size bed and is spacious. The buffet breakfast offers many foods that suit every guest. Another thing that attracts me most is the shuttle service that comes every 30 minutes which goes around the city. Im sure to stay again in this hotel in my next visit in Macau

Perfect except for location ”
This place is not in the happenings area. But, Hotel does offer shuttle bus that goes around Lisboa casino and Macau ferry terminal. It runs from 9am to 9:30pm. So if you have to travel to/from the hotel outside these hours, either have to get a taxi or take bus #9 or #16. I stay at this hotel every time I go to Macau because it is very good value for the price, if you don't mind inconvenience of the location.

Totally worth it”
hotels in macau are very expensive. This is the most affordable and worth every money spent. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. They also have free breakfast. This hotel is nicely located in a quiet residential area with superb view of macau tower and bridge. I will stay here again if I go back to macau. I really appreciated the relaxing feeling I had in this hotel
