They have very nice interior, very instagram worthy. :) Pool area is small but very relaxing, facing Manila Bay and my daughter had fun. Breakfast was good, very Filipino. Only issue was during check in. We arrived early, around 12:30 and the girl in the front desk said that check in is 2pm which is right so we hang out first and took pictures. I tried again around 1:30, which usually other hotels already allow us checking in, and the girl said that they were still in the process of checking out but I am not seeing anyone checking out since we arrived. This time my husband tried asking again at exactly 2pm, the girl said they were still cleaning the rooms and they will call us when everything is ready. They let us in past 2:30 already. Toilet flush is not that strong as well that it clogged. But overall, we still enjoyed our stay and we will still go back when we have a chance.
Best value for your money.”
Sweet receptionist gave me a free upgrade to Club King room since all their Deluxe rooms were taken. Their very courteous staff really made me feel like a VIP. And their swimming pool at the 4th floor overlooking Manila Bay is just lovely (did I mention they have a working jacuzzi, too.). And their breakfast buffet is okay/above average. I will definitely be back and I cannot wait!
We really enjoyed our stay, the room is big and spacious, and the bathroom is great! but the cons for this hotel is there's no swimming pool area, their staff said that it is currently under construction, by the end of the year 2018 is expected to finish the pool area.
Happy and satisfied”
It was a great experience staying at this hotel. We chose this hotel because it was near Manila Ocean Park. The hotel overall is clean and not very busy. Those who like to take pictures will definitely enjoy this place because of its beautiful floors, famcy chandeliers and quiet ambience. The room is spacious with tv, ref, a usb port for your celphone charging. The room has its own internet connection which is satisfactorily fast. The staff are all smiles and are always willing to help. They have a roof top pool which oversees the Manila Bay. Overall, me and my husband are both happy with our stay
Excellent all the way”
1. All staff (from the front office to waiters) were very genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful - made my stay so pleasant!! 2. Thank you Mr head concierge for arranging the tour for me - excellent recommendation with an excellent tour guide - made my visit so memorable!! 3. Location is superb - near the promenade, rizal park, convenient stores, banks and places to eat. 4. Room is clean and comfortable but needs a little improvement with the shower water pressure. Thank you all staff for making my holiday in manila a good one. i will definitely stay here when i visit manila next and have recommended rizal park hotel to my friends too.
Beautiful period style hotel and very friendly and helpful staff”
The roofdeck was perfect for the New Year countdown. THey had a great DJ, bar area, and fantastic view of Manila. THe fireworks display was a bonus too. Our room was fairly large and cozy. The hallways were not claustophobic or creepy but bright and clean. THe breakfast buffet wasnt as abundant as other hotels and the fresh fruits only had 3 choices. Still, I love this hotel.
Very quite place”
This is a very quiet hotel but full of staff and very helpful too. It’s a very formal setting because it’s not an average hotel. The breakfast buffet is more on Filipino food because that’s the hotel’s theme so don’t expect bacon and eggs. The infinity pool and gym along with sauna is great. Nice place and very close to Luneta and Ocean Park. Highly secured place because we have to go to X-ray machine before going in. I highly recommend this place for privacy and security.
2 star hotel”
This expensive hotel. everything yourequest need to pay.. we book Jr suite room with kid. when you request a extra towel need addional payment for it.. every request have equivalent price. just like small hotel..
Pros: location is a 5-minute walk to Manila Ocean Park and just across Rizal Park, very comfortable beds and pillows, good buffet spread for breakfast and dinner, very friendly and accomodating staff Cons: while the hotel is gorgeous and perfect for a quick getaway for adults, it could use a few more amenities for younger kids. i heard there was a pool that has yet to be operational so that would be a good thing. A play area for kids/toddlers would also be great.
-good location. Staffs are nice. But the hotel is too expensive for a 1 night stay. TV wasn’t hd at all. Their swimming pool was good BUT an additional charge for guest/s is 1000 per head. Ang mahal ha. At mahigpit. So don’t you dare swim in 4’s haha lol.
The hotel offers a scenic view of the Manila Bay sunset
Hotel has been beautifully restored but the new building was not yet open when we stayed there. We stayed in a Junior suit which was very quiet, spacious and clean. Coffee, tea and two small bottles of water provided in your room. Pool area was very nice with hot tub and lovely sea view. Breakfast buffet had a large variety of Filippino and Western choices. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, receiving a later checkout of 1pm. We had a great supper at the hotel’s Rooftop restaurant. Rizal Park is a 3-5 minute walk away.
Nice Hotel, but the staff and service consistency are lacking. ”
It is a nice property that has all the potential, but the staff is ill trained, in some instances incompetent and not properly supervised, leading to a very inconsistent service level. Most of the staff does not anticipate the needs of the guests (each morning at breakfast one had to ask for coffee and/or water even though wait staff passed by with water or coffee in hand.). The hot food on the buffet was lukewarm at best even 15 minutes after opening, and many items on the buffet were never replenishes. The was no Viennoiserie (croissants, Danish pastries) on the buffet the entire week I stayed there. The same in the room; while it was clean, there did not seem to be a standard. Some days coffee was not replenished, other days the coffee cups were not washed or replaced by clean ones. Shower gel was never replaced, instead I ended up with three bottles of shampoo. When I checked in, there was a small piece of paper in one of the corners; it was still there when I checked out
Nightmare mosquito bites after wonderful trip in Boracay! plus more silly greed that should be incl.”
Nice building but no real genuine care nor service, just lip service & false niceness. First they don't say you must pay for for tiny cheap house coats that actually do not fit & they know it is a couple coming & they give you one chair & make you sign for some cheap plastic chair be you paid for many room service food, so obviously you need to sit down to eat...basic common sense if you give a damn. Second & worse the first room stank of sewage so badly the porter himself called to move us the next level up same room, no upgrade or anything. And the night was a nightmare after a brilliant Hoilday in Boracay. We regret staying here! The hungry mosquitos keep us up all night & there was nothing done about it, because the did not stray £1, get real guys! Nor any form of sorry compensation, which really tells me they have issues & it all smells of desperation to me for just money, as I run my own many rental properties in london... Get your business right/customers feel good = success!
Very polite and helpful staff”
Beds are huge and comfortable. Air conditioning is cold which we liked. The tub and cable connection had a minor problem but they were quick to act on both incidences. The staff are great. Always greeting with a smile on their faces and very accommodating. The breakfast did not have much selections and mostly tasted salty especially the veggies and the omelet we ordered. Biko was hard and bland. Food servers were great. Sir jonathan and miss abegail were reslly helpful from our room tours to reservations until we checked out.
Stayed while attending our K1 Visa interview at the US Embassy”
Did not like the fact that all electrical outlets are 220v and they do not offer a 220v-110v converter. Coming from America all my accessories are 110v. I have Stayed in Manila previously at other places and each hotel had a converter.
I opted to book this hotel for my partner’s birthday because of good reviews. It did not disappoint! The room (Junior Suite) was situated in the corner of the building. We had the view of Manila Bay on one side and the Rizal Park and Quirino Grandstand on the other. We caught a glimpse of the fountain show and fireworks at the Manila Ocean Park and the fireworks at MOA. It was just awesome! Thr room itself was just elegant consistent with the classy ambiance of the whole building which is by the way the former Army Navy Club! Staff were very accomodating and the breakfast was good enough to fill me up until lunch time. I was looking for a filipino themed breakfast like the “silogs”, but I got more of Chinese food, which is good anyway. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel for couples, families and even solo travelers.
Undiscovered Gem in Manila”
It was a last minute decision when we booked the hotel for our wedding preparation, and it was the best decision we made because our stay was truly amazing. Staff are courteous and helpful. Every corner is gorgeous and picturesque :) Will definitely be staying there again.
Great Stay except for power outage ”
Staff were very courteous and friendly. Special shoutout to Inna at the reception for accommodating our request Power was out during breakfast but there was a typhoon so that’s understandable.. They had a generator set but I guess they turned it off early morning.
Great restoration work”
This hotel is the result of how much the owner love the history of the Philippines. To repurpose this property into a hotel gives the public the knowledge how valuable history is. My kids enjoyed the property much. Its clean and quiet. Rooms are comfortable and just the right size, Staff were great and service is good. One suggestion I have is to have a live performer in order to give the guest some activity at night. But overall, it was a great stay. Perfect for family.
