posizione centralissima (vicino alla metro tra l' altro e alla torre Oriental Pearl) migliore di quello che mi aspettavo guardando le mappe, colazione buona e varia dolce salato e piatti orientali cucinati da cuochi ma forse migliorabile per un 5 stelle di questo livello, camere ampie e pulitissime, spa di classe compresa nel prezzo agli ultimi piani con vedute spettacolari dalle vasche idromassaggio e palestra. Ci sono ristoranti e bar panoramici da vedere e da provare, prezzo delle stanze introvabile in Italia per un Hotel simile….. Unica pecca hanno tentato ripetutamente di addebitarmi la colazione della seconda persona dicendo che la prenotazione comprendeva una sola colazione a notte, nonostante avessi mostrato il voucher con colazione per due. All' ultimo giorno hanno riconosciuto…. ma mi è toccato insistere e la cosa è stata una caduta di stile per un hotel di questo livello.

Good hotel with good location”
We arrive at 7am in the morning.and off course the room isnt ready yet.the staff suggest us to take a shower at 30th floor swimming pool.and the staff is really helpful.from frontdesk,concierge to room service.this hotel located near shanghai aquarium n pearl tower.next to it is mrt station.u can easily find food around here such as yang dumpling,ajisen ramen and 7eleven. Awesome experience as our room view is the bund. Gotta back next time

Very clean and luxurious hotel with fantastic amenities in the room and attentive staff - great value for money. We ate delicious food at the Italian restaurant within the hotel. The hotel is a short (8-10 minutes) walk to Lujiazui metro station which made it very convenient to get to various parts of the city. Was about an hour each way to get to the Formula 1 Circuit by metro. There is a 7-Eleven and some restaurants a short walk from the hotel. Only complaint is that the ATM in the Hotel Lobby did not allow transactions using several of our cards that we tried (both Mastercard and Visa) which was annoying as many vendors around Shanghai did not accept these cards either and we needed cash!

I’ve booked non-smoking room, but unfortunately some guests from the other room was smoking, the corridor was full of smelly smoke, for two days but no one could resolve the issue. No penalty to those Chinese smokers... this is too bad!

Stayed here for a night Dec. 2-3, 2017. We got here a bit early and the room wasn’t ready yet. We went back around 3pm and checked-in. We were surprised that we have been upgraded to executive room. Checked-in was fast. The room was great. Love the facilities of the hotel. The hotel is very near the oriental pearl tower and about 10-15mins walk. The few things that i think the hotel needs to improve are: 1. Hospitality of the staff. (When we checked-in around 11am, the male front desk staff does not smile at all and looks very serious. I had stayed for several 5 star hotels and i never experienced this before.) 2. For the room, maybe they can add bluetooth speaker. 3. Coffee amenities - i’m not sure if they have sweeteners like splenda or equal but in the room did not found any. Did not bother to ask anymore. Overall i would still recommend this hotel and had wonderful stay.

Returning after a year”
This has been my regular hotel until a bad incident by the hotel front desk management one and half year ago. When I finally decided to return again I am pleased that the management has improved. Room is abit expensive but considering its location is excellent. The only thing that has gone worst since my last stay is the staff greetings. Basically there is no greetings or help offers. Facilities wise this is a five star but staff training wise this is more like a three and half star hotel. There is better hotel with similar price around the area with higher standard of customer service.

From the beginning John the front desk staff who checked us in was very courteous and friendly. The view from our assigned room is fantastic. Branded bath amenities, big plush towels, excellent bedding and excellent sheets! The HK staff was very attentive also and preempted our needs during our stay If I had to complain it would be that the heater is weak, taking a good hour to warm up the room during which we were freezing, dark stain wood finish is extremely dated, wifi is atrociously slow takes 2 mins to load a cnbc page but slow wifi is typical of five star hotels.
Location, location, location”
This is my regular hotel with great service whenever I travel to Shanghai until my last stay. A new receptionist unfamiliar with system took very long time to check me out (made some mistakes), took my credit card and then forgot to return my credit card which she kept with her in the inner side of reception desk. I was without credit card for a few days during my travel. When I returned to Shanghai to collect my credit card all the French manager could offer was only a very casual sorry and passed my card to me. It's about his attitude which was not sincere and sympathetic that really put me off. He even said it was my mistake for not checking and asking back my credit card and not the hotel's mistake. This is not acceptable for a 5 star international hotel. So I booked another hotel for my final days of business in Shanghai. I really like this hotel but not sure I will stay here again. Hence I give rating of 1 to staff performance (mainly due to the unprofessional attitude of the French manager).
A fantastic stay”
Overall it was a fantastic stay in the hotel. A luxury hotel with very good location which is near to Oriental Pearl Tower. A few minutes walking distance to LuJiaZui metro which is very convenient to access to most of the places such as airport.
Good hotel in great location ”
Very nice hotel , after taking over management from Gran Melia ( ex hotel name), Kempinski managing the hotel in very good way. It is conveniently located in main business district of Pudong, walking distance from shops, shangri-la. I have previously stayed many times in Shangri-la Pudong, but now prefer this hotel as service is same and price much cheaper.
overall are good, except there was a little problem when i was checking in but the staff could handle it nicely. hotel location is really convenience to go the business area and shopping area. it is just next to the shanghai aquarium and pearl tower. nice city view and excellent service.
a true 5-star hotel with great service”
Hotel is a true 5 or 6* type. The decor is good, not in the usual strange Chinese mix. Hotel is located near the Pearl Tower, about 15 mins walk. There is a new street earthere that Shanghai is trying to promote as a upmarket eat street. The erstaurants look good from the outside but I didn't try. Hotel is not very convenient for other activities, being in the middle of the office area. The subway is 10-15 mins away, taxis are available but they can pick passengers depending on destinations. This is SH. The interior of rooms are very well appointed and very comfortable, including the desk/chair. Staff is super helpful and super efficient. I stayed here before the name change (Gran Melia) and it didn't disappoint this time.
Recently opened Hotel in good Location”
I was looking for a good 5 star hotel in Pudong near the TV tower and the shopping mall. The hotel must be very new and the price was an excellent offer for the service and standard offered. I hope they can keep this level in the future and will return next time I visit Shanghai.
Top Class, Great Value”
No complaints at all. Hotel seems quiet but standard of rooms and service was excellent. Fitness centre is OK but has great view of Shanghai skyline and top floor pool is very nice. For the price, it is excellent VFM.
Great hotel in central location in Pudong”
I had a great stay at the hotel, but the staff was not particularly friendly or helpful, passing me from one person to another. Other then that, I had a great stay and would hihgly recommend the hotel to others.
Good location, new hotels”
hotel is new and conveniently close to the business areas, pearl tower and the bund (by taxi). sight seeing around that area is good. hotel is new and well equipped with facilities. rooms and surrounding areas are well maintained and clean. staff is polite but sometimes lack feedback (you need to confirm whether they have understood or will do what is requested). overall a pleasant stay and pleasant hotel.
Great Luxurious Hotel”
Location is just a bit walk from shopping centers and the Oriental Pearl Tower. The best service would be the concierge services; I asked the staff about other cities of China, he even offered to give a call outside Shanghai to make life easier for me. Truly an excellent service. Breakfast was also a standard above some 5-star hotels.
