I had the misfortune of buying non-refundable, so I HAD to stay there. As soon as arrived, I had to request another room. The musty smell was unbearable, the air conditioner was not working, and the balcony’s sliding door lock was broken. The second room was cooler, not cold, but cooler. When rained, the water percolated under the balcony’s sliding door into the room and my backpack got soaked. The rest of the stay I had to share the room, not only with my sons, but with roaches so, every night, before sleeping, we had to “roach hunt”. Bright side…The employees are awesome, they do their best, but they have to put up with the customers complains and they do have A in entertainment.
Great resort. Very entertaining.”
Great entertainment! The rooms are basic but good if you aren't planning to stay long in the room. I think they should take care of the roach problem they have. We came across 3 of them during our stay.
Furniture needs update. A/c needs maintenance.”
The a/c never cool down the room. Some of those rooms smelled really bad all the way to the hallway. Do not order room service, not worth it. Some of the restaurants are really nice with friendly and very antentive staff. This place is good if you want to party with your college friends.
Overall, I had a blast time stayed at this hotel. I wish the room was more clean and updated. The bathroom shower was bad. We can’t even turn on full water or else water will splashes all over the floor. When I booked the hotel I wanted a King bed for me and my husband. But we end up with double beds and no views. Beside the room , I love the food and the staffs was very friendly and kind. I wouldn’t mind coming back. Price of the hotel was reasonable for all inclusive.
Bad Attention and disposition”
Beginning by giving us a room that did not correspond, we paid for one with a view of the sea and they gave us an opposite one. The fridge in the room did not work, we reported it the first day and the next and it was never repaired, as well as the light in the bathroom that did not work. the information of some employees was bad and wrong, it's like we cared. And finally they do not have good predispocicion to solve anything. the drinks are all reduced, wine, beer, juices all of very poor quality until the coffee with milk was pessimistic. I would never recommend this hotel.
Beware...Got the Grand Room which mentions safebox included. However when you arrive there a daily cost! Terrible Customer Service got my check in at 5pm
We were made to pay an additional $30 non-refundable fee which was not mentioned anywhere online. Apparently the fee is the resort’s insurance against property damage by spring breakers. Another hidden cost was the WiFi, WiFi is NOT FREE and costs $10 USD a day which is ridiculous for a resort that claims to be all inclusive. The public facilities were good but the rooms are horrendous, there were foul stench coming from the sink, the safe lock is missing, the mini fridge is not working, door card reader doesn’t work 50% of time etc. Overall, the resort is not a bad choice if you’re a springbreaker or just travellers looking for a place to stay the night. (All inclusive drinks are great, the food weren’t so good). Not recommended for families
DONT GO TO THIS PROPERTY THERE ARE THE WORST IN CANCUN AND THEY WILL ROBE YOU BLIND”
I LOST A PLASTIC BRACELET AND THEY CHARGED ME 150 AMERICAN DOLLARS FOR A PIECE OF PLASTIC, THEIR STAFF IS RUDE AND DONT TRY TO HELP YOU AT ALL. THE ALL INCLUSIVE SHOULD READ "ALL CHIP STUFF INCLUDED". THEY ONLY PROVIDE YOU WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE SHELL STUFF AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT ON LINE FOR EVER TO GET A HALF COLD BEER. THE LOCATION IS OK BUT THEY DONT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT SPECIAL. "THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE"
Crazy Awesome Experience Overall! Definitely Coming Back
Excellent facilities, terrible service!”
My stay at this resort was really disappointing. The main issue is that the facilities are understaffed, waiting lines for the restaurants/bar/buffet takes at least 40 minutes. Although it promotes as all-inclusive resort, is nothing similar in the reality, they charge for everything, want Wi-Fi, you need to pay, want water, you need to play, almost all services that they provide in some kind they offer a paid option. From all my stay in the resort, I was unable to eat due to prolonged waiting lines, the restaurants only open a small number of tables and that is if you are lucky, because most of the time, the restaurants were closed, even though it was during open hours. Drinks are included, but limited in variety and quality. You get the cheapest liquor they could offer. If only they could have more staff, so they could offer better service, but not in this case. If you are a spring breaker, go ahead, party on the site is pretty good, if not, stay away for this resort.
Great adult family trip!
Rooms smelled moldy. The air conditioning barely cooled room, poor follow through with some staff . The Pyramid section is much better than the typical “diacount” rooms of Grand Oasis. Wouldn’t recommend unless budget is more important
Went Aug 19th thru Aug 25th, 2018. No drawers anywhere in room. Safe costs $7/day. Very unfriendly staff almost everywhere you went (except Jonathan the bartender at one of the pool bars). Breakfast was the only meal worth eating. Beach too full of seaweed. Mini bar only refilled once. Never informed of upgrade to Pyramid. Never informed of no lock for safe. It's almost like they don't want you to come back so don't bother going in the first place!!!!!
We had many complaints that were never taken care of”
Did not have adjoining rooms as promised, air conditioning didn’t work in one room, our rooms were located right across from the laundry area so we were crowded with maids and dirty laundry, brooms, plastic totes! I took pictures! My daughter got food poisoning when there and had to see a doctor! The on site doctor was wonderful but spoke limited English. The rooms we were connected to were very loud. One had crying children and one had people that were up partying all night. We had many documented conversations with the conseiar!
Crowded and desorganizad hotel”
Too loud at 3:00 to 6:00 you hear in your room the people comeback from party and the cleaning staff . Don’t stay near the service elevator ! The lines for the restaurants were huge! We dinner outside the hotel every night When booked this hotel be sure they are selling you black or gold bracelet for all inclusive if not you are not allowed to enter to all restaurant , drink and music places. You are going to spend your trip doing lines and the food it is not good enough for wait too long with a really hot weather . We booked two rooms , one of them don’t have telephone service , we can’t call to reception or order food. We reported the first day and all days (7 days stay ) and nobody came , also the air conditioning in the same room not work good and the same . The rooms keys didnt work and we have to went to the lobby (5 floor) like 10 times after arrived to the room to fix it ! Several consecutive days ! Good location ! Parking included !
Grand Oasis Cancún is a Joke! DO NOT STAY AT THE PYRAMID EITHER!!”
We looked at many reviews, pictures, & videos before booking at the hotel. They all did not depict the true essence of the resort. The property is very old, smelled like wet dog in a variety of areas & everything closed too early! The pool bars & surrounding bars closed at 5PM daily! The resort is known as the entertainment resort yet many of the activities cease well before 10PM! My wife & I saw an employee take plastic cups (the same ones used throughout the resort) out of the trash can! Yes! That’s right! They recycle the plastic cups even though people have thrown them away. The entire resort is strawless! Only like two bars had top shelf liquor & you had to upgrade to have access to it. We have stayed at several resorts & top shelf was included. WiFi was not complimentary & was $10.00 a day per device! The pools were nasty & dirty; there was no chlorine! There was no reservations for dinner so you had to bum rush the door. Lastly, the check in process took us two hours!!
Not much for 12 yr old buying & black band makes difference ”
It was disconcerting to have drug dealers doing business openly, seemingly sanctioned by some working at the hotel. We upgraded the room and we upgraded the blue band to black. There is a difference in the quality of service from the staff based on the staff and may account for the difference in reviews. If there are problems, the concierge is the only one that can make a difference. Other than pool and beach, not much that a 12 year old can do on his own. We stayed at Playa 2, where the view was nice. The spa massage was wonderful and don't miss Benazuza or The Black Hole.
This property is far too big and a pure party place. ”
For an all inclusive hotel the food availability was very disappointing. You have to line up for ages and to get into the restaurants was almost impossible. The noise in the hotel at night is intense. The hotel is definitely not a relaxing place at all. Probably great for young people who like to party but not good for mature guests who are there to relax.
Great for young people, not so great for families ”
Great hotel staff (Manuel the director was very helpful) Hit or miss with restaurant staff Food was hit or miss Security guards were difficult at times Clubs were okay on certain days Rooms were clean Common areas hit or miss Good beach and views Good activities Easy bus access
poor and slow service”
We spend a great deal of time waiting in this hotel... for drinks and food, the check in, actually everything. The service was friendly but extremely slow. The room was ok with a nice ocean view. The food, however, was really poor and not enjoyable at all. Considering the amount we paid for our stay we are somewhat disappointed
