Pecche: bagno vecchio e scomodo seppur pulito. Porta camera da sistemare poiché sbatteva per il vento, ahimè frequente nell'isola.
Sistemazione egregia, tranquilla anche se un po' fuori mano, preferibile essere automuniti”
Amazing hotel, amazing staff, amazing view”
Close to small cities and villages, you can discover here and nearby the true Santorini and the true Greece. The place is quiet and authentic, romantic and special. The view from the cliff is amazing and you can admire the sunset from the terrace near the pool. The stuff is also amazing, from reception, bar, cook and so on. The food is very good, from breakfast to supper. I really recommend it, and even I visited the entire Santorini this is the place where I will come back. The combination of the above is perfect for me. Really recommend.
Great hotel but slightly lacking”
Great hotel, breathtaking views from the jacuzzi room. Nice and friendly surroundings and a good positive atmosphere in the air. Breakfast was good although slightly lacking in variety. Disappointed with a few things as below - Tv was limited to only 3 channels working despite there being over 30. Only the greek channels which us as tourists left us bewildered. - The receptionist Alex was great. Very friendly and gave us all the information. On the other hand, there was another man, i didnt pick up his name, he fills for Alex when he is not in. He is obnoxious and very rude. Tried to con me in to paying 40 euros for a ticket for a boat trip despite me not attending and the ticket being worthless without payment! Tried to really scam me out as i was a tourist but i was having none of it. - Location was ok as there are bus links, but very far to oia. The walk is dangerous to the bus stop as cars nearly run in to you you are millimeters away from them. - Large nasty dog upon entrance
Excellent small hotel”
Small hotel with lovely rooms, friendly staff and great views. The location is marred only by the busy road, which you need to cross to get to the village. Check out the bakery just up the road and try the homemade pastries and the homemade wine!
We had a great time here at this hotel. Place was clean and all the staff was great. The location right at the end of the cliff was amazing, you get beautiful sunsets right at the swimming pool. The village of Megalochori just across the road provides the bus stop, some bakery and delicious local restaurants. The breakfast was delicious, the chef is amazing. We stayed here 5 days and after day 3, we kinda got bored with the breakfast. It’s the same everyday. It was delicious but we wished they had some variety, like changing the hams to sausages every other day or some other cakes. This is a suggestion not a complaint. I find nothing bad about this hotel. Everything is great.
An amazing experience, which we are so very grateful for.”
We have so much to say about this hotel! We have traveled some, but this was by far the best place to date. We never set our expectations too high, but we were amazed to find that the fotos did not do justice to the real deal! The room was cozy and welcoming. The hot tub was the best experience, because of one day of the bad weather it really made a difference, and proved to be the best sunset (better than Oia) right there in our hotel varanda. Breakfast a real delight, and Andrea provided us with the best advice for great meals in all the restaurants he referenced us to. An amazing experience, which we are so very grateful for.
It was a perfect stay at the Grand View hotel. Worm greating at the late arrivel. Very clean, fantastic caldera view from balkony and any hotel place. You don't need to go to Oia or other places to ejoy wanderfull view and sunsets. Here is much better becourse you feeling absulutely along without lots of turists. We were filing like on the cloud in our nice room with balkony. The location is also very good. In the midle of the island, so it's easy to get any sight on Santorini. The stuff is friendly. Breakfust is varios, fresh and testy. Chies-cooker Vaggelis greating you every morning with jinks and charge you with a happy mood for hall day. We didn't rent a car (though planed to do that), but we visited all the Santorini sights by wolk and public buses within 2 days. The greek tavernas, supermarket, cash&cerry and winery are in the steps. So it's easy without car. Defenetely will be back at this hotel next time in Santorini. Highly recommend to couples in love!
The receptionist was very nice and helpful. He was always smiling when he sees us and asked us how our day is going by. The star of the Hotel was the Breakfast chef. He was the Standup comedian every morning. He serve good eggs even though it was very simple. You wouldn't mind eating bread, ham and egg every morning with him around . They give us full privacy coz of the room they give us. We got the top room with a splendid view of the caldera and the volcano. Not to mention the the private jacuzzi. You need a vehicle actually to stay here. It is located in Megalochori, 10 mins from Fira Town. For me I rented a scooter. You need to google to find food in the area. My wife and I will usually ride to Fira for our lunch and dinner before heading back to our hotel. One more point it is best you come here April onwards. I reached on march 25 and the weather is cloudy. It rained the whole day on the 29th . After that onwarda the weather is superb with the sun heat warming our body. Memories!
Nice hotel - don't bother paying extra for the first floor room with balcony - you can get lovely views from pool and bar area. It is quite remote - but the charming village of megalochori is a 10 min walk away - (bit scary along cliff top path) lovely places for dinner there. Room service is exxy but ok. Pool area is lovely - space for everyone. Transfers to and from port are ok. I would love to go back!!
One of the best choices in Santorini”
First I must say tht we couldn't more happy when the hotel manangement upgraded us to the private villa. Apparently they do it quite often. Anyway, so to try to remain objecive, the hotel has some great views in Santorini, no need to go to hotels located Oia or Thira for that. Here you will pay half the price or even less for the same. Rooms are really nicely decorated. Breakfast is great also including fresh orange juice! We will definitively come back to this place!
Amazing Views coupled with Amazing Service”
My wife and I stayed at the Grand View for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon in Santorini. At the Grand View we were welcomed and treated with such a high level of hospitality, with all requests large and small, met with excellence. We mostly interacted with Andreas, who made our stay more incredible than we imagined. He welcomed us, informed us of many things we can do while there in Megalochori, then he arranged for us. From our stay, we recommend getting an ATV to explore the black and red beach areas. Walk to dinner from the hotel to several local restaurants. Participate in the local cooking class (lunch or dinner), and/or arrange a sailing cruise. Enjoy the sunset from your balcony with a glass of wine, it is really the best place to enjoy it. Then wake up and have a relaxing breakfast with a view. It was still a little cold around this time for swimming, but the pool looks nice and clean. Get the room with balcony and hot tub! Thank you Andreas! Ευχαριστώ πολύ!
Amazing staff and views, great value!”
Forget paying to stay in Oia, Grand View is well located and much quieter with just as good sunset views to enjoy the beauty of the island. The staff truly work hard to ensure their guests are happy, in particular Andreas was efficient, helpful and considerate. Vagelis in the kitchen was a warm host and helpful on giving local tips. They accommodated our being vegan by supplying almond milk and asked what we would like to eat for breakfast. Some pool level rooms directly face the caldera while others face it through the pool. We were lucky enough to get a room with a direct caldera view and it was great to watch the sunset every evening in quiet, instead of with the crowds elsewhere. The hotel is walking distance to a few small towns but having a car is highly recommended.
A nice place to stay”
The Grand View is a great place to stay. It is located in the middle of the island between the things to do in the south and the north. It is also conveniently located near the Santo Winery. The hotel itself has a fantastic location with a great view of the sea as well as the sunset. The breakfast was good and also had a nice view, too. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful as they recommended places to go and helped us organize things to do.
Great deal- lovely room, amazing view and staff”
Room was amazing! Large double bed and 2 aircon units. Shower was great when our hot water worked. View is perfect and in a great location close to Firá port. Check in staff were very friendly and the chef is an amazing gentleman! Very friendly and happy to recommend food/drinks for the perfect Greek Grand View Hotel experience. Best pesto pasta we have ever had! And reasonably priced in the hotel also. Pool and sunbathing area also great. Only thing we would say would be that the jacuzzi/balcony is not fully private as guests from hotel next door and from the Grand View can see onto your balcony from certain angles. Loved our stay and great value compared to Firá/oia prices.
Beautiful view and fantastic service”
Alex checked us into the hotel and recommended tours and activities for our visit. He was great and we appreciated his help. The hotel was very clean and the view is stunning. The breakfast, included, was excellent. Food service during the day is very good. My family and I highly recommend this hotel. This hotel is located in a quiet area of Santorini that is a short drive to Fira.
We enjoyed our stay at Grand View. The view is incredible and we would recommend this hotel to anyone”
Pros: - view - pool (small) - Sonia. Lovely lady who always greeted us warmly and prepared basic but nice breakfasts. - Office staff happy to assist in booking atvs etc Cons: - bed is very hard. Although some people prefer this, we did not and actually found it very uncomfortable to sleep on - poolside cook. Arrogant and rude. Food was expensive and worst we experienced on the island - price of transfers. 25 Euro for a 5 min ride is ridiculous but a captive market I guess - location. View is amazing but unless u have transport it is very isolated from restaurants etc
great hotel location, very good staff”
this is a great hotel in a wonderful location. we had a problem with our original room and the manager couldn’t have been more helpful in resolving the issue to our complete satisfaction.
Great hotel, Great staff!”
We stayed for 3 Nights. The view, as the name of the hotel implies, was breathtaking! The staff, led by Thanos, was extra-friendly and very informative. One of us is vegan, and the staff was considerate enough to buy vegan ingredients for breakfast (soy milk, vegan cheese) especially for us! We were very impressed by this gesture.
