Good location and clean rooms ”

Hotel staff did a upgrade of the room due to unavailability. Room given is spacious and with a view. Security of hotel is good and location is within walking distances to major shopping areas. Concierge was helpful.

Good location & room. Housekeeping was efficient & timely, but some of the people at the front desk & concierge should work on having better manners & common sense & familiarize themselves better with international travelers....

Nice hotel but not what i was expecting”

I have mixed reviews on this hotel. For starters I paid extra money for a deluxe city view room and when I got there the room looked nothing like it did in the pictures. The pictures showed a really nice bathroom with a separate shower and bath tub. My room just had a shower/bath combo which was very small and uncomfortable. The view was OK but to be fair I think there is city every way you look. I was hoping for a view of the Shanghai skyline like in the pictures but I'm not sure which rooms you need to book to get that. The room was still nice and the bed was very comfortable. The only other comment I would like to make was about the location. It's in a nice part of the city and there is plenty within walking distance but it is kind of a far walk to all the metro stations. There are three stations that are all equally a 15-17 minute walk from the hotel. After a long night of sightseeing or when carrying around your suitcase this can feel like a very very long walk.

It was a great stay - the check-in/out were fast, staff knows what they are doing, and were very attentive to my needs. Room is modern and nice with many amenities. However alittle pricey. Will stay again though.

The room is very clean and comfortable.Only one thing is they charge the wi-fi internet access fee in the room.The hotel is located in the city center and easy access to shops nearby by walking distance.

Great Value. Improved internet service”

This is my second stay in the Jin Jiang Tower after staying in quite a few other hotels. Last time I complained about their poor internet connections. This time around they have changed their internet service provider and I enjoyed speedy internet connections. I'm quite happy about their willingness to listen to customers. The Villar rooms remain very nice and spacious; the bed and the climate controls make for one of the better sleeping environments for me. I'll definitely come back again. I do wish I can get free wifi connection in the rooms, but I can do without it for now.

Very good location”

i have paid night to upgrade my room to double bed and get free internet access, which is a good deal i think. the room is well illuminated and comfortable, just the toilet is a bit small. i ordered a "bread set" (room service) for breakfast one day but the bread was all cold, though they're willing to resend some "heated" one for me those "heated" one was indeed just slightly hot, this is the only point i'm not satisfied with.

the building itself is quite old but all rooms have been stylishly refurnished. rooms are very spacious with a large tv dividing the bed and the living area. huge walk-in closet, large bathtub, large comfy bed. i am very happy with the room. however, the sofa was small and stiff. it becomes very noticeable when you have such a nice room. windows overlooking the shanghai city spans across the entire length of the room. no matter day or night, the view was spectacular. believe me you'd feel very good in this room. at the current price, i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. but if you can't live with a good internet connection, then stay away from jin jian tower.

Booked a suite got a dump ”

I booked a suite and asked for twin beds as I was staying with my daughter. The hotel did not have the suite so put us in a standard twin but charged me for a suite. I tried to challenge the manager but she was confident it was a suite. If it was a suite then the hotel must have really poor suites.

Two bad thing happened: 1. when i checked in, I was asked: two single beds or one large bouble or king size bed? Reply: one double bed. When i went to the room, it was a two single bed room. Called tge reply was no double or king size bed available. I said i specifically requested one large bed. Reply no your request was two single beds. I went to my originally reservation: one large bed but when i checked the reservation from the hotel it was changed to two single beds. That was BAD! 2. While i was checked in I placed a gift bag in the lobby attended by my friend, that bag was stolen when i finished checked in. Aaked the manager at the lobby. Reply: Don't know, did not see anything. BAD! BAD!! BAD!!!

Great stay”

We had a great stay at the hotel as the staff were helpful, and the location was great. Clean rooms, and fantastic location, near to shopping and easily accessible, right opposite the train station and easy to get taxis.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are traveling with someone unless you are extremely comfortable with each other as there was a window between the bedroom and the bathroom (so you can watch tv in the bath) with only a very translucent curtain for privacy.

Good locations but room a bit tired”

Jin JIang Tower one of the city's 5 star hotel. The room size is reasonable but but the location is excellent. It is in the old part of Shanghai where u can have a feel of old shanghai and it is very near to the metro. The price are a bit lower now a days due to the room are a bit tired. Overall if u are looking for locations with medium expectation of the room then it is ok.

Good hotel, meh staff”

The Villar Executive rooms were pretty sweet / comfy. I see other reviews about lousy service etc. but I think that's just typical China-style which may come across as off-putting / rude. So gotta expect that, and you'll be fine. Relatively convenient to most places.

at check in staff lied saying all superior rooms are twins so they didnt have to give me the king bed i booked. Asked to dhl a sample to a client only to find out the next it was not sent. Taxi to airport was dodgy and more expensive than usual. Typical old chinese style hotel

Nice hotel with good location”

After paying Yuan per day, we've upgraded to the Executive room on 33rd floor. The room is quite big and nice, all facilities there are very confort and new. All working staff on the executive lunage are very professional and warm, we been treated like the VIP.
