Desperate need of updating. Carpet has multiple stains. Bathroom also is in desperate need for updates. Didn’t feel clean.
credit card was swiped without permission”
worst hotel i have ever stayed at
Strategic location at downtown and street car. comfort bed and big room. they need to upgrade the traditional shower head to high pressure shower head. traditional shower head is the very old design .
Centrally located ”
Loved taking the Skywalk to the Duke Energy Center. Never had to go outside in the cold.
Seems like hotel needs some updating.
Everything at the hotel was great except a little disappointed that the bar ran out of a common liquor.
Rooms were very small for price”
Standard double rooms were very very small for a family of 4. Beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Staff was friendly and location was great for downtown access to shops, restaurants or walking to baseball stadium. We stayed at this same hotel 6 years ago and it wasn't as nice as we remembered it. Rooms were really showing their age. Stained carpet, wallpaper coming off, bathrooms in need of update etc. Not at all what we thought we were paying for.
Great location. Rooms and facilities definitely need to be updated. Terrible shower. No breakfast included. Towel in the "clean" bathroom with makeup on it. No mini fridge.
It was small and the shower wasn't clean I took pictures and the overall room wasn't that nice.”
More cons then pros, to much to list..
Worst hotel experience”
For what you pay to stay at the Millennium you expect high quality and friendliness. They failed at all levels. Check in felt like I was disturbing the clerk from her gossip session with her co-worker. No pleasantries or anything remotely resembling friendliness. The room was a huge disappointment. Small, crowded, with a bed that had been broken and taped up with black electrical tape! The towels were low quality and had a funk smell to them as well as having snot on one of them. No wash cloths at all, only large hand towels. Sink and mirror were dirty and there was no place other than the top of the dresser to set your bags. No suitcase rack or anything. The hotel guide in the room listed no check out procedures, no menus, nothing. I have stayed at lower end chain hotels that were nicer than this one. You can be certain I will yell it from the rooftops not to ever stay at this hotel.
Unhelpful staff, busted up rooms”
Booked a room morning of, tried to cancel a few hours later, but they wouldn't let me. This is on top of the fact the hotel was sold out (reds game and big concert festival). Good business acumen and customer service...too bad for anyone who needed a vacant room that night. They value their policies over customer service. The reason I cancelled was that I was booked in a separate room through a friend. That room had trash in the corner, dents in the doors and the smoke detector was barely hanging on the wall.
Big ok stay ”
Odd smells especially in lobby, but throughout hotel. Fairly clean room, but also felt dirty and smells made it seem as though they were trying to cover something up. Nice staff though.
Close to the Great American Ballpark and several great restaurants. Our bathroom light kept flickering and we never got the internet to work but other than that it was fine.
Great value for the money. Was close to everything downtown. Has everything we needed, even a small refrigerator. Bed was comfortable. We used valet parking & this saved a lot of time & energy.
Great hotel. The desk seems to be understaffed, however, as both times I have stayed here I have had to wait in line 15-20 minutes to check in.
A nice stay.”
I was in town for the Flying Pig Marathon. I read the reviews of this hotel ahead of time, so I knew not to expect the latest in accommodations - it's an older hotel. But my room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the internet was fast, and I overall had a pleasant experience. There is no refrigerator in the rooms, but thy can bring one up to your room at an extra cost per day ($15). I like to bring my own food for breakfast, and they had a microwave in a 24-hour vending area for my use. I also liked they had a coffee machine in that area as well (there was a Keurig in my room, but the coffee K-cups provided I didn't like) so I could snag some coffee at 5 AM before my race. This hotel is connected to the Duke Energy Center, so it was very convenient to go to the race expo after I dropped off my bags in my room upon arrival. I would recommend a stay here if you're looking for a decent place to stay with friendly and helpful staff.
Clean and friendly place to stay”
The staff was really nice, from the front desk to housekeeping. I've had more amenities for less money at other hotels, but it was very clean and a nice place to stay. Close to the highway, too.
some good, some bad, and some ugly”
for the price of the room I was hoping to have a more updated room. our first room ended up getting rain water in it and exposing to us a nasty smell of mold in the carpet to indicate this was a habitual issue. the staff was nice and helpful to move us to another room. the new room was stuffy and had a damaged shower curtain but at least didn't smell of mold. then when we checked out I accidentally left my iPad there and I would have thought a hotel worth its salt would have just shipped it back to me. especially for what the room rates were.. but nope they made me pay for shipping. yes it was my fault I left the device there but after the room experiences and everything else there I would have thought they would have covered the $19 to ship it UPS back to me... but nope.
