Looks are deceiving”
The on-line pictures make this hotel look great. Unfortunately I found the hotel in need of an overdue update. The carpeting was very dirty, and overall the cleanliness of this hotel was lacking. The area around the hotel is not the greatest. It seems that old buildings are being torn down and they have a negative impact on the immediate area. I enjoyed the park accross the street, a beautiful walk over the hill to the West Lake! The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and competent. However, I believe there are other hotels in Hangzhou that are a better value.

Lovely staff”
All the staff were very helpful, kind and professional. In particular the cleaning ladies on the 11th and 12th floors did everything with a fantastic smile on their faces and seemed to want to do as much as they could for us...reception and restaurant staff were also very helpful and willing to help at all times. A fantastic hotel!

For a 5-star hotel, staff performance is lower than I expected. They hardly understand English and I didn't get room with bath-tub I ask for (I read they have it). The indoor swimming pool has ridiculous rules that we have to buy swimming cap for 60-100 RMB. Room is comfortable and has unique thing pillow menu. We can change our pillow to Bamboo pillow, Natural-latex pillow, etc. Don't expect much from house keeping, the old lady who delivered my pillow, throw it instead of put it nicely in the bed. What an attitude! But the other old lady who delivered room amenities was quite nice, she smiled a lot and talk nicely.

An updated hotel with an Okay location”
Clean; with all amenities and facilities
This is a hotel with a bit dated renovation. The room is a bit too small, and furniture not well designed - the rounded table and chairs takes too much space from the already small room. The breakfast is a nice combination of oriental and western styles. The location is close to the west lake except that you need to climb over a hill. It is hard to get a taxi from the hotel.

Sort of good location; room with Chinese style deco
The room of the hotel has been decorated in a traditional chinese style. However, the bathroom could have been updated. The room is pretty small. The location is pretty close to the West lake (but still need a bit walking). There is not many food choices within the walking distance though.

It was a 2 night stay, it is good to have fruit as a gift for client. And the bed is quite comfortable too.

The hotel is just a 5 minute drive to the famous west lake where you can then find lots of food options and shopping around there. I love the cafes there too.

In a word, Excellent. I was there with my wife for sightseeing and time off from busy city life. Both goals were achieved. The hotel was a nice relaxing pad, with very helpful staff, guiding and assisting us from getting a taxi to advicing us on which sites to visit. I would definitly stay at this hotel again whenever I visit Hangzhou again.

the location is good,near to west lake.breakfast is good, with a lot of varieties.room is not bad, but the size is a bit small. the staff's really good -- my husband left his ring in the room and able to find it back after check out -- thanks to the cleaner. Appreciate!

the staff were particularly helpful, they helped us with sightseeing ideas and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and well serviced. Hangzhou is a busy city and the arrangements made by the hotel for us to get around ere good.
