Amazing hotel ”
One of the best hotel I suppose in Toya area, Luxurious and I highly recommend it for the amazing view over Toya. Highly amazing service that pamper all kinds of travellers. Amazing food served during breakfast and not forgetting a wonderful bakery. Highly recommend to everyone visiting Toya
We had supreme lake view room. The view was great. Hotel had super good service. But below are some ”
1/ Male and female uses outdoor hot spring in turns. We did not have chance to use outdoor. The hot spring was indoor with frosted glass which means no view at all. We stayed in some other hot spring hotel in Hokkaido. Their price were more reasonable with beautiful view that you can enjoy during hot spring. 2/ Not environmental friendly? I came across this strange thing in bakery shop: I bought around 4-5 pieces of bread and ask the shop keeper to put all bread in one paper bag when pay. (I did not want to waste 4-5 paper bags) The shop keeper rejected and ask me not to eat in lobby but in room. I AM going to eat in my room not in lobby. WHY WOULDN’T I? She was rude judging me like that. But since her English was not very good and I did not want to argue so it’s fine then I ask no need plastic bag (did not want to waste a plastic bag to put all paper bagels in. I intended to take the paper bags back room) she rejected too and acted even more rude when packing my bread. Not sure if saving plastic/paper bags is Japanese culture that I offended. If yes, please accept my apology. If not, I would suggest the hotel be more environmental friendly.
No communication between management and staff”
I called earlier in morning to request for a non smoking room and two beds. I was told no problem. But was given smoking. I asked if we cited check in around one or 2pm. I was advice that hotel policy is after 3pm. we can only check in after that. They claim to be 5 stars. I’d like to see that star that they got. Upon arrival, there was no valet attendant. They were all sitting in the back room. Because our room includes breakfast and we’ll be leaving the hotel at 5am to go sightseeing, we asked if we could have a take out box. Staff said that we could only have toast then he comes back and says no we can’t have anything after talking to another staff. So I said I’ll talk to management the next day. Too many to list. The bottom line is that staff lack training and their responses lack consistency.
Absolutely stunning view ”
We got a room on the 15th floor and we had the most amazing view of Lake Toya - absolutely breathtaking. Yes the accommodation is on the expensive but this resort is so well equipped and beautifully maintained. Staff were super prompt and attentive, they helped take in our luggage from when our car pulled up, we received complimentary parking, drinks on arrival to the main lobby area where the is either a harpist or piano playing. I do recommend making a reservation at any of the restaurants for dinner, even though the hotel is huge, it wasn't fully booked but all the dinner time slots were taken as we didn't make a reservation at the french restaurant as the facilities list didn't indicate it was a requirement like the other upper scale restaurants, however they were fully booked until 8pm (we went to get dinner at 530pm as we didn't have a proper lunch that day). We ordered room service instead which was a nice touch seeing as our room was so beautiful to stay at anyways.
Hotel with a view”
while the hotel is not considered accessible, the view is to kill for, only if you have your own transportation, e.g. driving. The hotel have 2 views, lake view and sea view and as its located way up on top of the "mountain", the view is incredible. I was there during winter while it was snowing heavily and we even spotted a wild fox while driving down to the lake toya town. Be careful while driving in winter though as the road might be frozen and can be really slippery.
Beautiful weather up there on the summit ”
What a pity we couldn't catch the glimpse of Lake Toya from the hotel when we were there last week due to fog from scattered precipitation. Luckily the cable car was in operation and we were able to see the view as we descended. Love bento set breakfast and set dinner at Tojisanka, especially the beef, very delicious. Too bad we were in the same room with Chinese guests who kept talking pretty loud so that kind of ruined our evening.
A grand hotel with a majestic view”
Overall my experience was better than satisfactory. The staff was very polite in general, though restaurant staff might need further training, but it is relatively minor. It is too bad the cable car was not in service during my visit though.
hotel at a mountain top with breathtaking views”
very relaxing and a good stay to recharge, the hotels' lobby was spectacular with its top to bottom glass panels overlooking the lakes. plenty of top notch fine dining restaurants such as arashiyama kitcho and another 3 michelin french restaurant. The largest drawback was however its lack of activities. When i went there , there wasn't much to do except to eat and onsen (hot spring batH)and just lounge around at the lobby area. Being a resort as it states, it should have provided more activities.
beautiful but a bit confined”
Windsor's room is fantastic, spacious and overlooking an amazing view with both snowy forest,Toya Lake and seaside. However, the Hotel is a bit isolated from the Toya Lake being on the mountain. If you look for skiiing, this is a great place. IF you look for moving around the city, this is a bit far. Restaurants need early booking, or you end up with room services. Staff are polite, but their English certainly can be improved...
the hotel has very nice location, mountain scenery”
really nice, hotel for reflexing and refreshing, you can sit down at the restaurant to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain snowing, you can enjoy the skiing activities there and is suitable place for families holiday
it s heaven on earth”
I had a very enjoyable stay, the hotel is very beautiful, the staff mostly very friendly, and I really enjoy the onsen very much. Also I had excellent meal at Kitcho Arashiyama, the best kaiseki on earth. it s expensive but once of the great experience.
One of the best resort i've ever been to”
this hotel is one of the best resort i've ever been to as i travelled around the world. The restaraunts are magnificent. 3 of them are michelin stars. The food is great with a superb services. The room view is the best view of lake toya and ocean. You dont have to go to any mountain for a view like anybody. I could say you can find it here at this hotel. I will definately come back here again for my next visit without any doubt.
Very luxrious”
I really like this hotel. It is a very romantic place. The hotel is very well-decorated. Besides permanent fixtures, their seasonal decorations such as snow man or snow caves are are all wonderful. The breakfast was sooooo good you won't believe it!
Excellent hotel to stay for winter activities.”
The sheer size and scale of the hotel is something you don't really get in Japan. Even driving to the hotel you can see from quite far away the hotel perched on top of the mountain overlooking Lake Toya. When you finally arrive, then you get a feel of how big the hotel actually is. We had originally booked Junior ocean view suite, but I think we got upgraded as we were on our honeymoon. The view from the room was amazing. They have one 3 Michelin starred restaurant and another restaurant with 1 Michelin star.
Great service& excellent hotel”
This hotel is so impressive. There is pick-up service at train station. It takes about 30 mins. When I reached at hotel, hotel staff lead us to lobby for check-in. While we're waiting for that process, welcome drink 's served. The view of this hotel is outstanding. It locates in the middle of lake and the ocean. Its room is clean. You can see the sun rises in your room. Besides, in the evening you can see the fireworks in your room. It's very beautiful.
Luxury in all aspects”
An amazing location coupled with elegant rooms, excellent staff, and great facilities.
One of a kind, great hotel !”
Great views make this hotel truly one of a kind in the world. Huge lobby and open space are just few of many attractive features of this hotel. We received an ocean-view room which was very hot due to afternoon sun. Turned the a/c all the way down, still couldn't cool the room down. The mgmt explained that it's a 20 year old hotel, so the a/c is getting old. It sits atop a large hill in a national park, so there is nothing in the near vicinity. Getting there is a small problem. But it's one of a kind experience for sure !
Luxury hotel with beautiful scenery”
Luxury Hotel, big size room, with beautiful lake view.
Excepțional”
Hotel rooms with superb view. The only set back is that lunch and dinner have to be inside the hotel, and not cheap.
Great”
Second time visit, still unparalleled on the view near 500km radius.
