they have a hand in your pocket”
The location is nice, however their add on charges are more than annoying: 1. additional cost for a chair at their beach 2. additional cost for parking every night 3. no seats ever available at the pool - too crowded 4. check in check out of beach towels You pay this as well as an additional daily amenity fee that is not listed as part of the Agoda prices
There is nothing but good to say about Turtle Bay Resort. Room was amazing (we had the Vista level Ocean View). The grounds are fantastic, Roy's restaurant delicious, pools are awesome, beaches beautiful. Great location for all your North Shore day trips. We love it here & will be back for sure.
Wonderful Stay in the Northshore”
I loved everything about the Turtle Bay Resort. The staff were friendly, the food in all of the restaurants was amazing. I wanted to move in and stay. It is located far away from Honolulu which was ideal for me. It was the perfect place for relaxation. I cannot wait to go back!
We just needed a hotel room for a day, so decided to splurge a little and book a night at Turtle Bay. The drive up from Honolulu International Airport is gorgeous, driving past views Hawaii is known for. The drive was also quite expensive by taxi as the resort is at a pretty secluded area (about $100+). Check in was smooth even though we arrived earlier than the check in time, and when it seemed quite busy for the resort. Within 10 minutes, we were escorted to our room and enjoying the beach view from our balcony. Food was quite pricey, and even though it was all quite good, can't say the value for the price was there. However, thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, particularly by the pool area. There was a lot of people checked in, but it never seemed too crowded, even by the pool area. There was always a spot to sit and relax, and enjoy the view. :) All in all, it was an excellent stay even just for the night. One downside however is that it is quite secluded. We wanted to head out to Haleiwa but proved a bit difficult to get a cab or any ride out into town. If we could afford it, we'd love to go back and stay longer!
Excellent resort in the North shore of Oahu!”
This place is amazingly perfect, staff were all really helpful and friendly. We stayed there for three days and the services they provided were totally worth the money we spent. If you wanna experience the authentic North shore atmosphere, give here a visit!
Amazing location. Great staff. Fabulous time.”
whilst we have stayed at nicer, fancier five star hotels, this is by far my favourite. The views from our 6th floor ocean view premier king room were amazing, the pool and spas were fabulous, the room was well equipped and staff were great. We had an amazing time and can't wait to go back again.
The place is so beautiful with a beauty view ”
Me and my daughter is very happy to stay at turtle bay hotel because of the pool and the beach, also we can relax at there. See the view from the room is so wonderful expecially when it's sunset time.
Loved Turle Bay and the North Shore!”
I stayed here for an overnight with my husband and 3 year old daughter and we found the hotel in an excellent location on the North Shore, we got an early check in and the service of the staff was fantastic. We loved our Ocean Front view and the room was nicely renovated. Our 3 year old loved the children's pool and we relaxed all day and enoyed a night of dining at Ola's Restaurant, the food was nice. We will definitely come back and stay here again for a couple of days just so we can enjoy more of the facilities and see more of the North Shore-Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and Haleiwa-so beautiful and relaxing!
The hotel was very nice though not brand new but still very clean and the rooms were nice. Location was good to get to several beaches and a rental car is a great idea to get out and go eat locally. I didn't find the restaurant food all that good. I would stay there again because of the location and hotel staff was excellent. Just remember they're going to charge you $15 a day to park your car and a resort fee of $46 a day that's not included in the booking.
Resort Facility ”
When I pay $500 USD per night, I don’t expect such old facility in the hotel room, the room’s air condition is nosier than my car engine and the carpet looks like it almost twenty years old! The furniture and rooms amenity are back to 1990! But overall everything is clean and people are very nice! However, it’s toally not worth for $500 USD per night for such old cripy facility! Totally disappointed!
Drove by last time on island figured beautiful, but could never stay there. This time we stayed just one night. We heard from reviews there were many add-on prices. After we arrived we walked around and went to Ray's for dinner. The food was amazing after our waitress helped us order and explained the menu in detail. I had a Pineapple Martini that was amazing! The salmon cooked medium rare melted in my mouth. The staff was friendly and all smiled and said something uplifting. The shop by the pool was where we had breakfast and the staff was very helpful. Basically, you can come here and enjoy yourself and not spent a lot of money and treat yourself to being spoiled. If you have extra cash you can spend it here golfing, spa, horseback riding, and have a great time I am sure.
Loved Turtle Bay, however a hotel of this standard should offer robes, slippers, etc. as in room amenities. Just felt like it was missing that extra touch that you get from other luxury resorts.
Everything was fantastic except Roy's. Extremely overpriced from the bar to the restaurant, some of the food was inedible
A beautiful resort in a great location”
Turtle Bay is a beautiful resort, on the amazing north shore. We loved exploring the local area, hanging in the hot tub and snorkeling in the bay. I did think the resort charges were too high, around $65 a day including parking. A great place for a few nights.
Beautiful views and great area. Untouched side of the island. ”
It was nice to leave Waikiki and come to the North Shore. Such a whole new experience. The hotel was beautiful with 2 areas to swim either the pool or the bay. We enjoyed the Bay Area so we could snorkel. Rooms all have water views but we where on the south wing and looked down at the pool and across the ocean. Lovely
The staff was amazing and friendly!!! The food is pricy and I don’t like the resort fees at the end!!! When checking out you get charged about $40 a day after paying a lot of money for nightly stay!!! Other than this, it was an amazingly beautiful resort!
beautiful resort. lots of things to do. best spot in the North Shore. beautiful view from our room. i love that they provide portable speakers during our stay. the only thing i didn’t like about the resort was the place wasn’t exclusive to guests. parking at night at the designated spot for guests was always full. they need more parking spots
Good Location away from Waikiki. ”
We spent 3 nights here out of our 11 night O'ahu trip. Just enough. You should have a car to see things around area as not in a town. All the rooms seem to have good outlooks due to the clever orientation. Ours was partial ocean view and was still fantastic. The room is large, clean and comfortable. There is a great gym with views. A very good pool. On the SW side of resort is turtle bay with great surfing. A good point break and some reef breaks. I had two good surfs here in solid waves. On other side is a a protect small bay (no waves) with great snorkelling on rock and coral reef. Heaps of fish. And occasional turtle. The in house restaurants are $$$. But not far away is the food trucks (10mins) just north of the town of Laie. But they close at 6:30pm. There is a famous shrimp truck. But we preferred Thong Thai truck. Very good. In Laie there is a strip mall and cinema. Some value eating options here as well. You can visit the Momon temple in Laie. Visit all the north shore breask.
Loved the North Shore and the Turtle Bay Resort! ”
We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort 1/6- 1/9. This was the only place we stayed on Oahu, we opted for the quieter North Shore vs Waikiki. We loved the resort- all of the staff is very friendly, and there are so many things to do! There are several good food options (pricey, but very good- and everything in Hawaii is pricey). We had dinner at Lei Lei’s twice, Kayla was the best waitress!! When we stayed at the resort, we opted for the beach over the pool. We rented snorkel equipment and saw a big sea turtle right in the bay. We could see whales breeching out in the water right from shore. Our room had a breathtaking ocean view, and great shutters that let air and the sound of the waves in, but kept the light and creatures out at night! We had an issue with a waitress at the beach bar and Mike the Food and Beverage manager was awesome and fixed the issue immediately! We would definitely return to Turtle Bay and recommend it to others.
