We had an amazing time at the Waldorf Astoria in Rome”

Excellent service, excellent pool, excellent breakfast! My 11 year old son and I stayed there for 3 days on a recent trip to Rome and while it was a bit out of town they had a beautiful and reliable shuttle service that dropped us off right in the center of Rome. We left the hotel for the remaining 7 days to stay more central in Rome and immediately found ourselves missing the quiet of the Waldorf. The staff was incredibly accommodating when we first arrived and helped us to check into our room early as we had been traveling for 10 hours. We will definitely stay again the next time we visit Roma!

Excellent hotel, a real treat for the family!”

Friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast, imperial club!

We loved our stay. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and beautiful rooms On the imperial floor level. We had booked 2 rooms and they were able To accommodate us by giving us rooms that had a seperate entrance Which we could close off and still be together as a family in our own apartment. The breakfast was amazing!!! Never before have I had such a variety To choose from. The dining staff was also amazing and very attentive. We Loved our morning shuttle rides and in the afternoon we took a taxi home, because We were to lazy/ tired to walk any further. We are looking forward to Spending another vacation at the Rome Cavalieri, hopeful it will be sometime soon.

actually like location, food

overlooking the panorama that has inspired visitors for centuries is rome's most prestigious address – the rome cavalieri hotel. though only minutes from the city's great monuments, the rome cavalieri has the tranquility of an oasis. enclosed in fifteen acres of lush mediterranean parklands, this luxury hotel in rome is a calm retreat in the heart of the eternal city, an elegant refuge where time slows and hearts quicken.

Amazing! And incredible value for money! ”

Comfort, staff friendliness, classy hotel

Throughly enjoyed our stay. Everything you would rate in a hotel was to the best possible standard from the comfort of the room to the beauty of your surrounding to the friendliness and willingness to help of the staff! Everyone was eager to help with a smile. Rooms were the best by far I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a few hotels in my life may I add. Definitely 5 star standards! Only downside is the location as everyone will have mentioned. It's a bit far out from the city but shuttle bus service provided however it does mean that if you fancy going back to your hotel for a quick afternoon rest if you're in central Rome this might not be possible. Special mention of the shuttle bus driver he was the sweetest man who was always happy and smiling and gave us a mini tour of rome as he drove us to the city. Can't say enough about this hotel! Clearly a happy customer.

Magnificent but very very expensive”

Room, Restaurant and shuttle bus into centre

Upon arrival we had been expecting a room with a Rome view as had been promised to us if we booked with them. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary so we spent much more than we would normally have done on pure luxury. When we went into our room we were disappointed that we did not have a Rome view, the actual room itself that we had was total luxury, beautiful in every sense. We had been promised Tea & Coffee in the room but it was not there upon arrival, when asked for at reception they said that it was not practice to offer this facility. I explained that I had confirmation by e-mail but they insisted without proof it could not be provided. Luckily I had printed out my confirmation e-mail so I returned to the room to obtain proof and returned to reception. This is probably the MOST EXPENSIVE hotel that we have ever stayed in - more expensive that the "Venetian in Las Vegas" (our 30th Wedding Anniversary) - A few examples were a glass of Coke was about £9.00, beer around £20.00 and a glass of wine around £22.00 - food was horrendously expensive - small Pizza £20.00, steak £50.00 and if you wanted anything in your room an extra £4.40 per person for delivery was added onto your request. Needless to say we mostly eat out of the hotel. Breakfast was magnificent with everything you could think of beautifully presented in superb surroundings. Only other issue was everything as standard facilities in other hotels was an "Extra Charge" in this one. Swimming pool outside £15.00 per day and then £15.00 each for a bed. Indoor pool was £17.00 per day but was undergoing renovation and could not be used. The Gym was around £20.00 per day to use. That said you could not fault the hotel at all it was absolutely 10 out of 10 - pity we were let down by the room offer. A final note - although the Rome city tax is around 2 to 3 Euros per person per night, because you are in a "Luxury Hotel" 4 or 5 stars you have an additional charge.

Luxury and Stylish”

fantastic view from upper floors and away from all the noise of the city

an excellent stay in a truly stylish and luxury hotel though be aware you will have to pay for all those little extras. if you are a spendthrift this is not the place for you but if you have the cash and enjoy the best service, atmosphere and desire relaxation this is a sanctuary in the fantastic location of rome. upsides: excellent bar service and light music entertainment during the evening in front of exquisite art works. the spa services and facilities are world class and should be experienced by all. the view from the top floor restaurant and bar is fantastic and the food is an experience; though immature taste buds might initially struggle or alternatively discover a new world of fine cuisine and never touch fast food again. the breakfast is one of the best i have seen for catering for all needs and tastes. this is a place to take your time in. don’t rush, relax, walk and look around, ask questions and savour true style and elegance. downsides are few but you have to be aware of the location of the hotel but again if sightseeing use the shuttle service and you can walk everywhere from the drop off points. if not the shuttle, cabs from the hotel were not that expensive (say euro 20 to city) though again be aware of the traffic as this can easily double at peak times. cabs back to hotel tend to be significantly more especially at night. getting here by public transport maybe should be avoided as costs go up and it is very time consuming and not that convenient, best tips: use the concierge they are very helpful and can save you loads of time, help with any language issues, gain you access to that special back street restaurant and assist with spending your money in a variety of innovative ways. the special events such as private vatican trips, sunday brunch and the in-house art tour are well worth the time.

Great view of Rome, large rooms, great service and facilities - swimming pools

We had a wonderful stay during our recent visit to Rome. It was our final day before leaving to come home. We couldn't think of a better place to have stayed for our last day. The hotel was so accomodating with regards to allowing us to check out late and then continue to use their facilities till early evening as we had a late flight out of Rome. The day was hot so we enjoyed lounging around their magnificent swimming pool whilst sipping on their delicious cocktails.

Fantastic! absolutely perfect.”

this hotel was perfect in every respect. We were in the Imperial suite which allowed free access to the pool, spa and imperial club room- frre food and drink throughout the day.

The rooms were large and well equipped. We didn't use the hotel restaurant as the prices were quite excessive, though im sure the food would have been great. There are a few well priced restaurants a short walk away down the hill. The view wasn't amazing from the room- we were looking onto the large mast outside the hotel, but from the Imperial club balcony the view was spectacular. We got a great deal for Imperial Hot Breakfast. Strongly suggest going if you can! The breakfast was [erhaps the best part, each morning an absolute spread of any foods you might like to imagine!

Wonderful hotel, great service & very comfy beds”

Pillow menu, shuttle bus into central Rome, quiet location

The Cavalieri is a great hotel, a little out of the centre but the shuttle bus makes up for this. The staff are very attentive and the pillow menu in the rooms is amazing!

A luxurious romp in Rome”

Service, comfort and quality

This hotel catered for our every desire, from the moment we arrived until check out. Everything was of the highest quality. The breakfast selection was extensive and of the highest quality. The fitness center had more facilities than sine private gyms and the spa provided is with a lovely evening of relaxation. The only downside was the location meant having to wait for the hourly shuttle or a 20 Euro cab to get to and from the center of Rome. On yep evenings we were too tired to venture or for dinner given the trek required, however the restaurant in the hotel was just lovely.

Luxury. Spa. Historical

It's a 5 stars Astoria Waldorf with the historical classic feel. The hotel is not as new as some other choices but the service is unbeatable.

Great Hotel”

Wonderful pool, outdoor terrace with enormous buffet breakfast

although the decor was not my taste, the hotel was terrific. set in a quiet area surrounded by gardens and trees, it was a welcome respite to the hustle and bustle of rome. the hotel runs a shuttle bus on the hour to the city centre. the scent of jasmine is everywhere because each terrace has an overhanging bush planted on it. this is a very solid traditional comfortable hotel. if you like contemporary modern boutique type of hotel do not stat here. best to stay here early summer months to enjoy the outdoor pool spa and gardens. otherwise a bit isolated.

Beautiful hotel ”

Magnificent hotel just outside of the main centre of Rome. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms amazing, the pool and grounds sensational. The only negative is there are not many good external dining options in the surrounding neighbourhood or in close proximity. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend as one of the top hotels in Rome.

not as great as the first stay”

view location and the shuttle service

asked the hotel to change my reservation and was given the ok but had to clear it with agoda and i did that and was given the ok by both and at the last minute was told that i could not change my reservation and my original booking was not even given to me correctly. if you book a rome view room make sure that its not on the 3rd floor couse you will end up paying the extra for a tree view room. What a way to end your vacation with such a disappointment.

Dated Hotel in bad location”

Rooms and pillow menu

We choose this hotel because it had a pool and a free shuttle service into Rome. Neither actually worked out. The hotel is located in a bad section of town outside the main city area. You have to take a shuttle into the center of Rome. Well the shuttle only runs every hour and stops at 8pm so you can not have dinner in the city. Also the shuttle lets you out in only spot in town and you must get back to that spot to get it home. It does not stop at the Vatican which the hotel is close to so you have to take a taxi. We went in summer so we thought it would be great to have a pool after touring on a hot day. Well the hotel charges you 18euros if you want a chair at the pool, otherwise you are free to swim and shake yourself off. This is ridiculous. The rooms themselves are very beautiful, quite spacious and luxurious. So if you are looking for a hotel purely to sleep in comfort, this is it. The lobby and surroundings are like stepping into a time warp from the 70s.
