Great area, nice breakfast and room with balcony”
A friend had recommended this place, and we were happy to stay there. Room is clean, comfortable and practical with fridge, bathroom and balcony. New kind of Thai breakfast every morning apart from scrambled eggs and toast plus good coffee. The neighborhood is lovely with many small restaurants around. Easy to get to with the A4 bus from Don Mueang Airport. Helpful staff as well.

Basic but Clean and Good Value”
The Roof View Place Hotel is down some local streets and surrounded by a group of hostels. There is nothing that immediately stands out in the Roof View Place Hotel. The friendly welcome from staff is a nice first impression. The room I had clean, decent sized, has a TV, fridge and a small balcony overlooking roofs! The hot water shower worked well in the small bathroom. The Wi-Fi is one of the best I have experienced in the area. The local streets have a number of small restaurants with inside and outside eating areas. Prices here are considerably lower than around the Khaosan Road, a 5/10 minute walk away. Thai (and some Italian) food restaurants are staffed with friendly welcoming people unjaded as they are in the Khaosan. Don't mind the stories about the ladyman.; it is easy to avoid contact. Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, this area is safe. It is a local area where Thai people live and work. Isn't that what you have been looking for? I would recommend this hotel.

Nice place for a good night's sleep ”
It's the first time I find a quiet place around Khaosan road where I can have a good night's sleep with this king of price range 475 baths, booked with Agoda. Every thing needed is in the room, among others AC, hot shower and a view. The buffet breakfast is of good quality with the cook cooking fresh food behind the buffet place. I had room #508, without lift, I was upgraded from my single room because I wanted a place on the back side of the hotel. Staff is nice but not friendly.

Basic but very clean”
Khao San Rd is very loud and very crowded. Having now been there and done that I am very glad the Roof View Place Hotel was not any closer. At night it quiets right down so you can sleep, but just a couple blocks away you can still reach amenities. The room we stayed in was very clean and it had everything we wanted: a bed to sleep in. Oh, and it also had a pretty fair view of Bangkok (which isn't pretty or fair, but you get a view of it!). Air conditioner worked great, hotel laundry was cheap and quick, always a couple free bottles of water for us hanging in a bag off the door knob in the morning. The free breakfast was also good and worth waking up before 10am for. There's free coffee/tea in the lobby at all times. The staff were always helpful, even letting us use the family's computer when the hotel's wifi stopped working. They helped with ordering taxis and giving directions when we needed that, and arranged tickets to a Muay Thai fight (Ratchdamnoen Stadium is close, highly recommend this too). If you're on a tight budget but don't want to share a bathroom in a hostel, this is a good option. Also, go to 7-11 for drinks you wish to keep in the fridge in your room. They're typically less than 1/2 the price of what you'd pay in the lobby (free coffee excluded).

High standard and very nice staff”
I am very satisfied with my stay in the Roof View Place Hotel. My room was not only very clean, but also very well equipped. Air conditioning was very efficient and Wi-Fi was free of charge, very reliable and quick (at least at the fifth floor where I stayed), too. It was a nice surprise. There is an interesting lift which you can use to transport your heavy luggage from the ground floor to the floor of your destination. It is a very helpful and convenient solution. I was provided with a free water every day. I was also so happy to start every day with an excellent and tasty breakfast, greeted by smiling staff. The staff was so nice and helpful. They are quite good at English. The hotel is located very close to the strict city centre where you can find numerous stalls with very cheap and tasty food, visit popular tourist attractions and enjoy a night life. I will book a room in the Roof View Place Hotel in the future for sure. If you are not a very demanding tourist and are looking for a relatively high standard for a reasonable cost, it is a very good choice. It will meet your expectations and I have no hesitation in recommending this place to you.

Best Hotel in Bangkok”
This is my 4th time in Bangkok and normally I went as others to Khao San Road to get a Hotel (avoid Khao San if you don't want the tourist things and drunken backpackers) and I need to say this was the best Hotel I have stayed in Bangkok. The staff is suoer friendly and very very helpful. The room was very clean and for the value of money it was more than enough (a/c, fridge, TV, shower, toilet, balcony, wifi very good in my room on the 5th floor, breakfast). One of the highlights is the roof top. Beautiful view to Bangkok city and you can located a couple beautiful temples aswell. The breakfast was very good. Nice freshly made coffee, scrambled eggs, Thai style breakfast, cereals and fruits as much as you wanted. It was yummy and a good start to start the dat with. The location was good for me too. One outstanding point to notice is that the reception provides you with advice to be careful around Bangkok and that people try to overcharge you. They are really focusing on the business and their guests which is a outstanding point for me. You can easily walk to the nearby local fresh food market where you can buy fresh vegetables and supplies for the kitchen for a very good LOCAL price. The people around that area are more friendly than on Khao San Road. Khao San Road is maybe a 10-15min. walk from the hotel. The streets are save and it's was for me a very nice experience to see a bit how tye local people live. It gives you the real experience of Thailand. That matters to me a lot. You can eat around there very cheap and the locals cook it in front of you. Thai food is just one of the best dishes in the world!!! There are 2 temples nearby, maybe 5-10min walk from the hotel. Also the location is very quiet and you don't get any stupid drunken backpackers there. I have met a lot of travelers there which was a very nice experience. Just 1m of the opposite of the Hotel is a massage shop (OUTSTANDING!) and a local corner shop. 200baht 1h Thai massage/local price for shop).

Good location & very helpful staff!”
Considering the place, I think Roof View Place is more like hostel rather than a hotel. But, we have a great time staying there. Here are some pro's & con's for your consideration. Pro's: (1) Very helpful staff who can help to guide you around the area (2) Very clean and they clean it everyday, including changing your towel (3) Close to Chao Phraya River & attractions like Grand Palace & Wat Arun (4) Many 711 around (5) Excellent wifi connection (6) Good breakfast (for muslim, you can have toast, scramble eggs & fruits) (7) Easy to find dinner place at night, at Soi 2 (5 mins walk) they have bars that opens until midnight, you should try Tom Yum Goong at Wunderbar, very tasty! (8) If you need a good travel agent, there is one next to the bridge to Phra Athit Pier, named "So Cool Travel", they give you good price & can show you direction around the city, including which public transportation is more efficient (faster & cheaper) Con's: (1) Hard to find the place for the first time, but you can give the full address to the taxi driver, he'll find the way (2) Watch out for stairs, as this is a hostel, they only have elevator for luggage (3) They still use conventional key for rooms, instead of card key (4) Very small room (my friend have to move the bed a little bit to avoid direct AC to her) (5) No amenities (6) 10 - 15 mins walk to Khaosan Road, though some people will consider this as pro's, but for me it's quite far (7) No MRT/BTS station nearby Despite all the pro's & con's, we are quite satisfy with the place!

Great hotel and staff”
I had a great stay at Roof View Place. Beautiful room with double bed, a little balcony and a nice view. Hotel is very close to Khaosan and near to some great street food places. Good breakfast in the morning with a choice of Thai food, eggs, fruits and toast (changes every day). Friendly and helpful staff. Free luggage storage after check out. Highly recommended and I will come back in April.

Excellent location, great breakfast, super wifi.”
I love the location of Roof View. Just a few minutes walk from Khao San and in easy reach of buses and taxi's you could be in a different world, this little area off Samsen is delightfully quiet yet with enough places to eat and drink that you don't feel cut off at all. The staff at Roof View are great - our room was cleaned every day with bins emptied, clean towels and 500ml of water each. The reception staff are superb, helping us with a camera repair and bag storage. There's a fridge in each room, a safe, comfortable bed, TV, air con and a small balcony. They offer a laundry service, but we used one of the 30 or 40 Baht machines just around the corner (you can't miss them) and you can get a whole household laundry in there, then dry the clothes on your balcony. Help yourself buffet breakfast is great - there's a different Thai dish each day, different eggs (boiled, fried, omlette, scrambled etc), endless bread to toast, butter and marmalade - plus two types of fruit and salad to help yourself to. There's even cereal and milk too as well as filter coffee, tea or chocolate. The rack rate is 900 Baht for a double room, we found it on Agoda for 800 including breakfast for the double room, and just paid that amount directly. It's a great find, quiet, friendly and with superb internet access - it was consistent, across all floors and in the lobby area too, skype voice conversations were easy and upload speeds superb.

Good location, even better breakfast”
We arrived at Roof View Place at5am and the staff were really accommodating. Our room wasn't due to be ready until 1pm but as another couple checked out early, they made up that room for us for 8am. Breakfast was included and we got a great price for 3 nights. Breakfasts consists of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, cereal, sausages (Thai) and a local noodle type breakfast. Coffee and tea is available for free all day, as is the wifi. The hostel is run by a lovely old lady who does the night shift. I got food poisoning during our stay and she sent up toast and crackers on a tray for me, from her personal food. The staff are very helpful. Rooms are good, with TV, fridge, balcony, safe and hot water. Rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels and water in the fridge. Only downfall of the hotel is the fact that they don't have a lift. They do have a metal lift type gadget that will take your bags to your room for you, making staying on the 5th floor a little easier. Location is great. It's a 5 minute walk from Khaosan Road and there's many restaurants nearby. We even got the public bus upto the weekend JJ market which was surprisingly easy. If you arrive late evening or early morning is recommend getting a Tuk Tuk to the hostel as it is a bit tucked away behind samsen street. Great stay, would stay again if we return to Bangkok.
