Rooms not soundproofed correctly against the roar of traffic along Parramatta Road, plus the evacuation alarm in each room (I stayed in three different rooms) makes a loud buzzing sound every 80 seconds, 24/7. Upon complaining of this, I was basically told to suck it up. I had to wear ear plugs each night, but the vibration and sound of traffic was still loud and present enough to hear - even with the ear plugs. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night after too many unsuccessful nights of sleep and booked a room at the Parramatta City Motel which was much nicer. Also, the room still had a used towel, socks and belongings from the previous guest in the room. I am a WHS professional, and can say that an audit of the accomodation would prove that this facility and its security systems do not comply with many WHS or Fair Trading legislature, Australian Standards or codes of practice. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking for a regular nights sleep. If you do, bring ear plugs.
