Good hotel, great location”
Had a three day visit on Amsterdam and stayed 2 nights in Royal Amsterdam Hotel. Great location almost in city centre with lots of restaurants and shops close by, you can easily walk to most attractions/sightseeings in Amsterdam or catch the tram across the square. Staff was very welcoming and friendly, we arrived earlier without warning and just wanted to leave our luggage for hold, but surprisingly we got our room immediately We stayed in Superior Twin room with a balcony looking over Rembrandt Square. The room itself was small, but modern and clean, air conditioning and wifi included. Bathroom/shower was great and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was satisfactory, the food was good but the variety could be much better, coffee (from coffe machine you can choose latte, cappuccino etc) was really tasty. Overall, we are very happy with the stay and would recommend to someone who doesn't need a lot of room, wants to be in the middle of everything, and doesn't mind a bit of the stre

Value for Money”
This has been my third time staying at the Royal Amsterdam Hotel. The rooms have always been clean and the front desk employee is always friendly and helpful. I don't even need to articulate but I will definitely come back.

Good Experience”
The hotel is very central. Close to many cafes and bars. This was my second time staying at Royal Amsterdam Hotel, and both times, the room was super clean.

Great Location ”
The Royal Amsterdam is located in an ideal location. Very easy to get anywhere in the city via public transportation. Many bars and restaurants nearby.

Good hotel in a good location”
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring all of Amsterdam and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby.

WARNING: NO AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION”
The listing is inaccurate, they don't offer airport transportation. Rooms are tiny, like dorm-room tiny, but well-appointed and clean. Staff was very friendly, but they need to examine your room at checkout, I'd imagine this could cause very long waits to check-out, so plan ahead. The EU rating system is about 1/2 star higher than they'd be in the US, but this would be a very solid 3 & 1/2 star hotel here. Location was great. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if travelling for pleasure and I wanted to be close to the centrum.

Location ”
Hotel was in a great location next to busy pubs and clubs and restaurants very good location however after a night out there was no where to get food or water at 4am etc hotel should have a vending machine or something but it doesn’t this proved frustrating we walked for over an hour around Amsterdam to try get food and water after our nights out but couldn’t find no where to eat after the club also the hotel balcony was locked so we couldn’t open it to let air in as a result the room was very stuffy and hot , apart from that tho the hotel was in an excellent location and had a great big walk in shower which was nice.

NOT a 4 Star despite what it claims!”
In a four star hotel you would expect a reasonably sized reception area. This one is 1m x 1m. There's a very cramped restaurant and I mean CRAMPED but it's not somewhere to sit and have a drink. The one lift carries a max of four people over six floors so long waits. The "double" rooms are tiny with about 500mm around the sides and end of the bed. They would be small even as singles. The bathrooms and clothes storage are adequate. Staff were helpful. The overall cleanliness is good. Watch out on their prices as they do not include the hefty local tourist tax. There must be better value hotels in Amsterdam.

Not a very good stay”
We came at this hotel for New Year's eve, the reviews before us did not put us off into booking what it seemed to be a new hotel. Well, they still suffer of the fact that they are new apparently, our room was not cleaned for 2 days, we had to go to the reception to plead them to get it cleaned, on the night of new year the fire alarm kept ringing, rooms are tiny but that is expectable in Amsterdam, hotel staff was very helpful or at least tried, shame that sometimes we were given wrong information... I think that the hotel deserves 3 stars at best, for the price paid we felt ripped off.

nice hotel in the heart of Rembrandt square”
the hotel is smartly located in Rembrandt square, walking distance of many attractions, like the hermitage museum or even the royal palace.

Good”
Size of room was shocking, twins beds pushed together, against window one side and a gap of around 12 inches the other side which is also the bathroom access. Should be a single bed room, would have more space in a tent. Air conditioning was either far to hot or too cold, we just switched it off. Bathroom very clean. TV control's didn't work - just had BBC1. No tea / coffee facility in room, would expect a kettle and cup for 4 star hotel! Who awards hotel stars in Amsterdam? This is 2 star not 4 star.

Quite disappointed for the money it costs!!!! ”
My husband and I decided to book a nice place in Amsterdam as it was our last stop in our short road trip to Europe. We wanted to be close to the town and not to have to worry about public transport. Big mistake we made!!!! To park your car in Amsterdam, it's a total rip off!! The hotel offered to us their valet service and it was completely and awful service!!!!!! They were pretty unfriendly and arrogant since the first moment, saying to us if we are not in time to pick up the car back they will charge us more money (after paying 70€ x 2 nights!!!). So well, the day we checked out they arrived 30 min later and they didn't want to give us back any money and any compensation for that! We ended up losing our ferry to UK and had to buy another ticket!!!!!!! About the hotel, the room was extremely small, the heating was not working properly and I was cold at night, and they didn't want to know anything about their car Valet company neither.... Not a good hotel for how much it costs!!!!!

Excellant location, helpful staff, Nice clean hotel, very small.”
The location is excellant, centre of all night life. Staff were extremely helpful and recommended to us some nice places to visit. Room was very clean but the smallest hotel room i have ever been in. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pleasant accommodation for travelling in central Amsterdam”
The staff are all welcomely friendly. The room is clean and tidy. And the location is quite central, close to tran stop. We tried breakfast there and it is worth the price. One tiny problem is that because we choose double bed, it is really easy for small stuff like smartphones to slide into the gap between two beds.

Honeymoon”
The room is very small. There is a cabinet for hanging clothings but it is useless coz it cant be shut once the clothings are hung 😅. The room has a door to the porch but it cant be opened?!? And The staff took 40mins to check us in. N the most unimpressive about this hotel is the 11am check out time while 99percent of hotels in the world is 12pm noon. there is no grace period for late check out and it charges 25euro hourly. I understand the value of time: time is money. But not calling us and removing our luggages from the room and still charge us for 25euro is rude, ridiculous and not courteous at all..... when courtesy is what european countries emphasize.... the only credit i can give to this hotel is the baggage hold service. Its free. As for location, well i paid for it....

Not worthy of its 4 stars”
This hotel is very well situated in the Rembrandt Square, but be aware it is in a pedestrianised area, no taxis allowed, so you have to drag your own luggage to the hotel. The place is in need of repainting, the rooms are very small as are the bathrooms, and sparsely furnished. Despite booking an upgraded room we had no view. I wonder what their standard rooms were like, given the tiny room we spent five days in.. However the breakfast was good, as was the evening meal we ate there. Alas like most restaurants in the city you had to pay for a glass of water. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely stay in Amsterdam ”
A really great place to stay, the staff were very accommodating and the hotel is located on one of the very buzzing squares. Great noise isolation though, we slept like babies!! Would strongly recommend for a weekend away
