Royal Bora Bora offered great value. The hotel is divided by the main (small) road on the perimeter of the island. On the ocean side. you will find: the sandy beachfront (very nice) and dock, pool, bar, restaurant, reception, etc. On the mountain side are all of the hotel rooms (i.e. there are no hotel rooms with beach views). The room was clean and nice with a very comfortable bed. The restaurant and bar are good. Many adventure trips will pick you up from the hotel's dock, which is very convenient. The hotel has bathrooms with showers that can be used after check-out, which really helped with our plans to do a morning activity prior to our long flight home. The one thing that could be improved was the helpfulness of the staff. They were very inflexible with early check-in when we called ahead (and we were requesting it because I was feeling ill), but when we happened to get there early, the room was actually available and they let us check-in early, but we were kind of annoyed at their attitude on the phone. Regarding activities, they actually had the activity we wanted/ended up booking, but at first they sent me looking elsewhere at outside vendors, which didn't make much sense; they have a big binder you can look through yourself. They also have tickets for beach towels on their property, which is fine but seemed a bit unnecessary/made it feel less luxurious.

I found and booked a reasonably priced hotel, as I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy the hotel arriving late in the afternoon at Bora Bora Island and taking a tour the next day. At Bora Bora Airport, they provide a free shuttle boat to the main island, and the accommodation offers a pickup service for around 50,000 won. I rented a car since there’s a rental company that rents out small Kia cars for about 7,900 to 8,900 XPF, so I rented a car to get around the island and moved to my accommodation. The accommodation has a front desk and a restaurant facing the sea, and there’s a dock where they can pick you up for tours. On the opposite side of the road from the sea, there is a parking lot and an accommodation complex. Parking is free, and it seemed like there are spaces for around 8-10 cars. The room is clean, and the bathroom is also reasonably tidy. It seems that insects inevitably come in a little through the windows or gaps, but it appears there were no mosquitoes. The breakfast menu isn't extensive, but it’s decent, and while it may vary for individuals, it has a reasonably good taste like most accommodations in Bora Bora. I booked it for around 300,000 won, and if you don’t have a long time to enjoy the hotel, it’s worth staying. It’s not far from the InterContinental Le Moana, so the combo with both accommodations is nice, and there’s also a famous restaurant nearby called Lucky House that I recommend.

“Nice little budget gem”
I just got done with my stay at the Royal Bora Bora. I knew going in that it was a budget property so I wasn’t disappointed at all. What it lacks in facilities and fancy rooms it makes up in intimacy and personalization. The beach is small but so cute, cozy and beautiful! I loved it! Food was good…. From the casual burgers and such at the bar, to the very well-presented meals at dinner. No gift shops, no entertainment (well, they did have a Polynesian show… which was just ok), but I never missed those things for the 4 nights I was there. One word of advice… if you are from the U.S. and used to using washcloths , bring your own. I know many foreign hotels don’t provide them in the room, but they will upon request. Not here! They don’t have them at all. There are several restaurants you can walk to off-property if you want to, but I felt a little uncomfortable with all the stray dogs around. All in all, this is a great little place that won’t break your budget!
