Located on Lancaster Terrace, guests staying at the Royal Lancaster London are only 20 minutes from London’s Heathrow Airport. With Hyde Park sitting directly to the south, the hotel features one of the best views in London. While Marble Arch and the plethora of Oxford Street shops are within walking distance, the hotel offers a car rental service for guests to visit nearby sites such as Harrods, Knightbridge, and Hyde Park. Ideal for business travelers, the city’s financial district is 15 minutes direct by London Underground. On-site restaurants, including Nipa and Island, serve fine international cuisine throughout the day while the lounge bar specializes in mixed drinks and beverages. With a convenient location close to famous local attractions, the Royal Lancaster London is perfect for all travelers.

Fab choice for London - overlooking Hyde Park”
The Royal Lancaster is a great choice for sight-seeing. It is located on the northern edge of Hyde Park - which means you have this amazing open space in the heart of London just on the doorstep. The beautiful wildlife there includes hundreds of species of trees, lovely flower beds, squirrels everywhere that will eat out of your hand, dozens of kinds of water birds (including herons that will also eat out of your hand & cormorants - in London!) and other feathered friends. I can't recommend the park highly enough. The Serpentine (lake) is beautiful and there are 2 nice cafes overlooking it. There is a Lido for outdoor swimming. The hotel is (just about) walking distance to Mayfair and Knightsbridge. We often bought food from Harrod's food hall for lunch and ate it in the park. Our regular room was comfortably furnished but small; however, from our window we could overlook the park and Wembley stadium in the far distance. Breakfast very good and both restaurants fabulous. Staff very good. Recommended.
My first trip to London”
This hotel was selected based on comments made on the website along with service reviews. I arrived on Fri and spent 4 nights and then proceeded to go to Paris for 4 nights and came back again to the Lancaster for another 2 nights before leaving for home. I must say that this Hotel is worth going back again should i come to London again. I had a room on the 7th floor that was away from the Park view but it was definitely better being in Hyde Park itself. The staff was warm and accommodating. And i do like the room size here. Large enough to walk around in without tripping over your bags. And a spacious bathroom with good water pressure and hot water. You can get to Hyde Park which is literally just across the street and the Tube is just around the corner. Paddington Station is just a casual 5 min stroll to get to. There are many restaurants and pubs within a 5min walk.
Great hotel in a beautiful location ”
About a 20 min walk to MarbleArch. Hyde park is just a few steps away. Good, clean rooms with good linen. Bathroom was also very good. I just wish the was a bit larger as there was no space to leave luggage open. Will definitely consider the Royal Lancaster on my next visit to London.
Modern, clean, friendly with a great location”
Two of us shared a simple double room which was a little small but very nice and very clean. The bed was big and comfortable. The climate control worked very well. Two windows ran almost the full width of the room giving a lovely view. These had separate day-time and night-time blinds for full privacy. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower. Fluffy white towels, bathrobes, slippers and The White Company bathing products were provided. The hairdryer worked very well (unusual for hotel hairdryers!). There were two room safes, one the usual horizontal style and one vertical. There was lots of storage space. We ordered room service which came quickly and was tasty. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel so I can’t comment on that. The hotel is just around the corner from Lancaster Gate tube station - a couple of minutes walk - so very convenient. Hyde Park is opposite the tube station. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay again!
Fantastic location, across street from the Park”
a lovely hotel across the street from hyde park, and a few meters from lancaster underground station – the best way to get around in london- also very convenient, a few blocks from paddington train station an excellent alternative to heathrow international airport. walk able distance from oxford street shopping area, and to shop at herald's, just cross the park - a very pleasant 30 minutes walk.
My London Experience”
It’s a beautiful and mod hotel and centrally located. Loved the location.....so convenient.....tube station is so so close just around the bend.....easy to flag a cab.....Was just so lovely weather to take a half hour stroll to Marble Arch and that’s the north side of the famous Oxford Street, the shopping haven. Was thrilled to know that Chinese food is just a fifteen minute walk on Queensway and the famous duck rice in London, Four Seasons is also here. The green lung of London, Hyde Park is just across the street. Loved the Serpentine Art Gallery here. Was impressed that housekeeping is done twice a day hence the super duper clean, fresh and neat room........so much so I got them to only clean on alternate days. The one dissatisfaction I have is because the hotel is doing some refurbishment, drilling and knocking starts as early as 9am. And my room was practically next to the area they were drilling. The noise came from everywhere and it went on for 5 days out of ten I stayed.
Perfect location and superb standard”
We cannot but laud our stay at Lancaster! Smooth and friendly check in. The room was in excellent shape, clean and fitted with one of the best British beds we ever slept in! (Decades of experience!). We also appreciated the room being unusually silent for a big city. Location is perfect for anyone with set targets for their London stay, not least with underground two minutes away! We did not eat at the Lancaster, so we cannot judge breakfast or restaurants. But they looked tempting. Price tag slightly above our usual travel budget. But when/if currency exchange rate "stabilises" we consider Lancaster a serious option.
My london nest.”
Im in love with this hotel when i first stayed here. Super great location, near to Paddington and Bayswater and its facing The Kesington Garden & Hyde Park. The room is exactly like the picture and its just 2 mins away from Lancaster Gate station. Will definitely stay here, My nest whenever im in London!
VIP Treatment!”
I had a great stay there and would gladly stay there again. Exceptionally convenient to Metro. Very much enjoyed my walks in Hyde Park and Kensington Garden which are just across the street. Wish I had known about the Bel Canto restaurant before I ate elsewhere - would have loved having live opera arias during dinner! Also wish I had known to turn LEFT when I left the Lancaster Gate metro station. The entrance to the hotel is on the east side of the Terrace and there is no signage if you head to the right and end up on the west and north. However, the hotel is clearly marked on the London street map right outside the metro station (if you think to look at it!) and there is a sign on a fence if you are lucky enough to head to the east. Oh, and I also would advise checking prices with other taxis if you need to go from the hotel to Heathrow. I think I might have been overcharged for my taxi ride that was arranged by the bell man.
A very pleasant hotel”
The hotel is well situated for the tube station at Lancaster Gate and the bus routes. It is about 5 mins from Paddington mainline station by taxi. I have no adverse criticism. The check in staff were efficient, polite and very helpful. Equally the doorman, porters and concierge. I did not try the Thai restaurant, but the Italian restaurant was excellent. Very well cooked, fresh and well presented food. The breakfast also was very good. However on both mornings although it was very busy, we were not kept waiting. The position is delightful with excellent views over Hyde Park. I would actively seek to stay here again.
A good address to recommend for travelers to London. ”
Royal Lancaster London has the best linen for bedding. The bed is so comfortable that I almost overslept. Bathroom amenities are also good. Staff are helpful, especially concierge team. We will definitely go back there to stay if we visit London again.
Awesome location, Newly renovated, classy and nice! ”
Love our stay here at The Royal lancaster. Location is amazing! 6 mins from Paddington Station, 2 mins from Lancaster Gate and directly opp the Hyde Park! We walked everywhere from here. Love the hotel! Breakfast spread is fabulous as well. Service is also top notch from door man to concierge to anyone we met! So glad we stayed here and will definitely stay again!
looking at hyde Park”
Bayswater station is just as easy to walk to as Paddington. There is good choice of food nearby in both small stores and restaurants. And it is directly over the road from Hyde Park. We ended up double booked into this hotel and the staff sorted that very professionally without making us feel troublesome. The room was great - excellent views, it was huge for a London hotel, bed very comfortable, bathroom good although not as spacious as the room, there is plenty of closet and drawer space. we wished were staying longer. We would go back to this hotel
Location is good”
Though around 6-10 mins walk from Paddington station, it's very close to Hyde Park and also Lancaster Gate tube station. Good for those who want to use Central Line and planning to visit Hyde Park. The room is clean and size is ok. Staff are quite helpful and willing to call for train hotline for me (since I requested a railcard to be mailed to the hotel). Except there is renovation going on and it's a little noisy during daytime, it's a good hotel and I will recommend it to my friend who want to stay near Paddington train station,
Short visit to London”
A great base for a trip to the capital, right next to Lancaster gate tube and Hyde Park. Look for deals on price. Could not fault the Hotel, did not have meals as expensive but expected that.
Exceptional”
The Royal Lancaster also has a great view of Central London. It has a very convenient location too. The bus stop and tube terminal were right beside the hotel. Staff was very friendly as well, they take care of all your bags for you.
Great Stay in Lancaster London Hotel”
Wonderful overnight stay in Lancaster London. The hotel is situated right above Lancaster Gate Tube station, making moving around London very easy. Just 5 minutes walk to Paddington Station as well making travael to Heathrow Airport easy. Just across the road is Kensington Garden. Great view
very good renovation in an old structure”
the upgrade of Royal Lancaster London over many years is very well done. Every detail in the newly renovated rooms is well thought through. Congrats and hoping to come back
nice staff & very accomodating. ”
staff where very welcoming when we arrived. When we went to our room we discovered we had single beds rather than the requested double bed. We called the reception who where very friendly and moved us to a suite which was totally unexpected! Hotel was lovely and clean and great location. We where at london for a concert in Hyde park so it was perfect location too. would recommend it.
