Overnight stay”
Only stayed over night after arriving with the ferry from France. Hotel is not too far from the harbour and easy to reach. Unfortunately the parking space at the hotel is limited - there is a car park nearby where you can get a discount. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel was a bit old fashioned. Breakfast was a typical English buffet, OK for me but not for everyone. Okay for an overnight stay.

Decent hotel in good location”
Pleasant staff, very convenient, fair value
Very handy location, just five minutes walk from Plymouth Harbour rail station, Portsmouth Historic Dockyards and ferries to Isle of Wight. Rooms and other facilities are comfortable and clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Buffet breakfast offered plenty of food of reasonable quality. Overall, definitely recommended. Location makes it very suitable for day trips to Isle of Wight as well as Portsmouth.

Unworkable Showers And Generally Disappointing”
Very Good Full English Breakfast
We had two twin rooms, both on the third floor. Showers are above the bath and the rooms have warning signs of extremely hot water which is so hot that one of our party scalded his foot. The cold water pressureis poor and the shower either operates at a dangerously hot level or cold. 4 people in two rooms all tried and faied to get the shower to a useable temperature and all failed and had to take baths instead hopeless. Other than that, the rooms are spacious but in need of redecorating. New flat screen TVs are too small and too far away from the beds. Very disappointing bar with no rela ale on hand pumps despite there being good breweries in the area. Fortunately there was an excellent pub (the George) next door. The saving grace was a friendly welcome from the receptionist and a really good breakfast. Probably would stay elsewhere next time due to the shower problem.

comfortable with good breakfast”
Good price and a pleasant hotel.
this hotel did the job and was reasonably priced. it didn't have any frills but was comfortable, the shower was hot and the breakfast was good. couldn't really ask for more and i didn't realise they had a swimming pool, should have brought my cossie! oh yes and free wi-fi, always appreciated.

Exactly what it claims to be”
Location, parking, good staff
Apart from the satnav depositing me in a cul-de-sac about 500 metres away from the hotel (it's at the other end of Queens Rd if this happens to you), everything went smoothly here. It's only a short walk from the main attractions, the room was comfortable and everything worked.

Excellent value, warm and clean. ”
The buffet breakfast was excellent plus the staff.
Bit dated but added to the history of the club.
A very well situated hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the rooms although sparse were warm and clean with plenty of hot water. Will definitely stay again and thinking of arranging a Masonic Ladies Night here. I was impressed with the facilities offered and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends.
